PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINING A CATEGORY

PROFESSIONAL SUITABILITY
Determination of the professional suitability of candidates for training at the academy is carried out in the process of conducting professional psychological selection activities in accordance with:

1. Guidelines for professional psychological selection in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (Order of the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, 2000 No. 50).

2. Methodological recommendations for organizing and conducting professional psychological selection in military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, 2002.
Determination of the professional suitability of candidates for training at the academy is carried out based on the results of professional psychological selection, which is carried out in three stages: preliminary, main and final.

At the preliminary stage specialists from the professional selection group take part in studying the personal files of candidates and preparing proposals for the selection committee to call them to take entrance examinations.

During the main stage Specialists of the professional selection group (subcommittee for professional psychological selection as part of the admissions committee) evaluate the compliance of the professionally important socio-psychological, psychological and psychophysiological qualities of candidates with the requirements of the military specialties for which training is carried out at the academy.

At the final stage, based on the results of socio-psychological study, psychological and psychophysiological examination, one of the following conclusions is made on the professional suitability of candidates:

recommended first – first category. Candidates fully comply with the requirements for training at the academy and are able to master the educational program within the established time frame, mainly with excellent grades;

conditionally recommended – third category. Candidates meet the minimum requirements for training at the academy and can hardly master the educational program. Persons classified in this category are allowed to study at the academy if there is a shortage of candidates who have been assessed in the first and second categories of professional suitability;

Not recommended – fourth category of professional suitability. Candidates classified in this category do not meet the requirements for studying at the academy, are not allowed to participate in the competition for admission to the academy and cannot be included in the competitive lists.
FORM AND RULES FOR DETERMINING PHYSICAL FITNESS OF CANDIDATES
Tests to determine the level of physical fitness of candidates are carried out on three exercises in accordance with the requirements of NFP-2009:

exercise No. 4 (pull-ups on the bar);

exercise No. 41 (100 m run);

Exercise No. 46 (3 km run).

The dress code is sports.
Exercise No. 4. Pull-up on the bar.

Hanging with an overhand grip, bending your arms, pull yourself up (chin above the bar), straightening your arms, lower yourself into a hanging position. The hanging position is fixed.

Slight bending and spreading of the legs, slight deviation of the body from a stationary hanging position are allowed.

Jerking and swinging movements are prohibited.

Exercise No. 41. 100m sprint.

Performed from a high start along a stadium running track or a flat area with any surface.

Exercise No. 46. 3 km run.

It is carried out on any terrain with a general or separate start.

To determine the level of physical fitness of candidates entering the academy, a table is used to convert the sum of physical fitness scores into a one hundred point scale.

Method of transferring the amount of points scored

on physical fitness on a hundred-point scale

An increase (decrease) in the amount of points for performing physical training exercises corresponds to an equal increase (decrease) in the number of points on a 100-point scale .

Example:

  1. 125 points were scored for physical activity (the physical activity score is “3”). Calculations: 125-120 (minimum score on FP for a grade of “3”) + 25 (minimum score on a hundred-point scale) = 30 (points on a hundred-point scale).

  2. 155 points were scored for physical activity (the physical activity score is “4”). Calculations: 155-150 (minimum score on FP for a grade of “4”) + 55 (minimum score on a hundred-point scale) = 60 (points on a hundred-point scale).

  3. 175 points were scored for physical activity (the physical activity score is “5”). Calculations: 175-170 (minimum score on FP for a grade of “5”) +75 (minimum score on a hundred-point scale) = 80 (points on a hundred-point scale).

  4. When you score 195 points or more for physical fitness, you get 100 points.

To determine the level of physical fitness of candidates entering military educational institutions from among the military, a table is used to convert the amount of points scored in physical fitness to a 100-point scale.

Age groups

Threshold level, minimum points in one exercise

Sum of points for performing physical training exercises in three exercises

Assessment of the level of physical fitness of military personnel

3

4

5

1

30

140-189

190-209

210 or more

1 FP point = 0.8

15-54

55-74

75-100

2

28

130-169

170-189

190 or more

Converting the points scored to a 100-point scale

1 FP point = 0.8

15-54

55-74

75-100

An increase (decrease) in the amount of points for performing physical fitness exercises depending on the age group leads to an equal increase (decrease) in points on a hundred-point scale (except for the cases indicated in the table, where 1 point in physical fitness corresponds to a multiple coefficient).

Example:

  1. First age group – 155 points were scored for PT (PT score – “3”). Calculations: 155-140 (minimum score on FP for a grade of “3”) × 0.8 (multiple coefficient) + 15 (minimum score on a hundred-point scale) = 27 (points on a hundred-point scale).

  2. Second age group – 195 points were scored for PT (PT score – “5”). Calculations: 195-190 (minimum score on FP for a grade of “5”) × 1 (multiple coefficient) + 75 (minimum score on a hundred-point scale)
= 80 (points on a 100-point scale).

One attempt is given for each physical exercise. In some cases (in case of a breakdown, fall, etc.), the examiner may allow the candidate to perform it again. Performing physical exercises to improve your grade is not permitted.

A candidate who has not completed the assigned exercise to the minimum threshold level and has not scored the minimum allowable number of points in the sum of three exercises is rated “unsatisfactory.”

A candidate who does not arrive without a good reason or refuses to complete any of the exercises is assessed as “unsatisfactory”.

Candidates who have successfully passed the professional selection process
Based on the results of the competition, they are enrolled to study at the academy.

The Mikhailovsk Artillery Military Academy has been engaged in education and producing the best specialists for the army for almost 200 years. The prestige of the institution was laid down by Peter I; the modern training base allows us to prepare brilliant military personnel in accordance with world standards.

Story

The first artillery school appeared in Moscow thanks to Peter the Great in 1701. A few years later, part of the teaching staff was sent to St. Petersburg to open a cadet-type educational institution in the capital. On the initiative of Prince Mikhail Pavlovich, an artillery brigade was formed from the cadets of the cadet corps, which included three companies of students. The Mikhailovsky Artillery Military Academy celebrates its birthday on November 25 - it was on this day in 1820 that the official opening of the institution took place, where fireworks and officers of the Pushkarsky order were trained.

After the revolution, in 1919, the Mikhailovskaya Military Academy was renamed in the spirit of the times and became known as the Artillery Academy of the Red Army. In pre-war times, in 1938, the academy was transferred to Moscow, from where it was evacuated to Samarkand in October 1941. Re-evacuation took place in 1944.

From branch to academy

In 1952, a branch of the academy was opened in Leningrad, where teaching was conducted in two faculties - ground and anti-aircraft artillery. The following year, the educational institution was reorganized in connection with the separation of two separate branches of the military - the strategic missile forces and the missile forces and artillery of the ground forces. In light of the emergence of a new structure, the Leningrad branch received the status of a Military Artillery Command Academy.

In 1960, the Mikhailovskaya Artillery Military Academy was merged with the Leningrad Artillery School. Since 1995, the educational institution has opened a faculty for advanced training and retraining of military officers. In 1998, branches were opened in Kazan, Kolomna, Saratov, which since 2004 have been transformed into Higher Artillery Schools.

From 2009 to 2011, a number of reorganizations were carried out, the purpose of which was to optimize the educational process, introduce new standards of education and assess the knowledge of cadets. In 2012, the MVAA (Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy) approved the concept for the development of the educational institution. In 2016, the academy received the Order of Zhukov, awarded for merits in personnel training.

I found out on the Internet that today is an open day at my alma mater. I decided to go and remember my childhood :) At the same time, take a photo. It turned out that this is a monthly very modest open day, and a normal one, with excursions around the territory, is held at the end of February. But while you're there, catch a short report.

First - official information for those wishing to enroll. Recruitment is carried out in the following specialties:

I will translate: fire fighters, reconnaissance, automated control systems, missilemen, airborne forces and marines. Also, for the second year now, recruitment has been going on in the specialty in the interests of the 12th Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. And now the academy also has a school for warrant officers. According to the results of the last recruitment, the competition was from 1.2 to 3.5 people per place. The passing scores for the Unified State Exam ranged from 110, but they were also supplemented by physical fitness, which could give +100. That’s why the pass rate on the Unified State Exam turned out to be so low - physical training helped many pass.

Now there are about 500 people on one course. In the 90s, our rate was 50 carcasses :) Today, by the way, there was instruction for those leaving early on vacation. Now courses are being released on New Year's Eve, something we could only dream of.

Next are personal impressions and some photos. What caught my eye was that there were many corporals among the cadets. Apparently this type of incentive is actively used. We didn't have one with us. ATMs and vending machines selling coffee and all sorts of candy bars, as well as payment terminals - we never dreamed of this :) Checkpoint outfit in armored armor and steel helmets. We didn’t get to the museum, even though we were promised. We visited only the 7th department. Photos below.

The same wedge that we assembled and disassembled in the 90s :) At least it lies on the same table in the same place :)

Overall, I expected more. But it is what it is. I promise to go to the academy informally next year :) and make a good photo report on the second campus. He is dear to me. We rarely went to the first one. Only for some classes, for divorce and for especially important constructions. There was an infirmary in the first town :) One of my favorite places :)

At the end of 2015, the Mikhailovskaya Military Artillery Academy (MVAA) became the leader among the country's military schools. The Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Ground Forces, Colonel General Oleg Salyukov, announced this to journalists today following the results of an inspection of the St. Petersburg Academy.

“We are conducting a scheduled inspection of work at this legendary educational institution. We were able to once again verify that this is a leading educational institution in the Armed Forces, which has taken a leading position over the past year,” emphasized Colonel General Oleg Salyukov. - Suffice it to say that according to the results of the Olympiads (among universities of the Ministry of Defense), this educational institution takes first place. They either won everything that was possible or were among the winners. This is the merit of the entire staff of the school - both in relation to the organization of the educational process, and to the observance of order and military discipline.”

In addition, in 2014-2015. The MBAA received 6 new simulators, including for training missilemen on the Iskander operational-tactical complex, the academy said. At the same time, the academy has modern simulators for training specialists in all areas - artillery reconnaissance complexes, automated control systems, including artillery batteries (self-propelled and transportable artillery), taking into account the specifics of training for units of the airborne troops and marines.

Artillery specialists are trained on a complex simulator with visualization of the tactical situation on a panoramic screen in three-dimensional graphics (3D). It is important that it allows you to train your eye. Negotiations over the radio are conducted under conditions of realistic sound simulation of shooting. At the same time, information exchange with the control unit, with fire and reconnaissance means, and work with reconnaissance and surveillance devices is simulated.

The simulator for artillerymen, equipped with the latest technology, simulates the actions of infantry with tanks (to practice coordination), is constantly being improved. As noted in the MBAA, it includes training for work on weapons that are just being prepared for delivery to the troops. After such a complete simulation of combat operations, graduates, of course, take exams “in the field,” using real equipment. But in the learning process, savings - thanks to electronic equipment - amount to millions of rubles.

The modern electronic complex “Sagittarius”, which is also trained at the academy, is designed to control units in combat. It allows both digital messaging and voice communication, reducing message transmission times. It also uses electronic maps of the area, photographs - everything that intelligence officers have at hand can be digitized and used, the academy teachers assured.

“Sagittarius” allows you to quickly plot a unit’s route, as well as track the condition of military personnel (for example, whether they are wounded) and their location. In artillery, the complex is used to determine the coordinates of a target. The transmission of messages in the system literally counts in seconds, journalists were convinced. Thanks to the open architecture, various reconnaissance equipment can be connected to the complex.

In 2015, the competition at the MBAA for the higher professional education program was from 4 to 5 people per place, and for the secondary vocational education program - from 8 to 10 people. In total, more than 480 people were enrolled in the academy last year, representatives of the MBAA told the press staff.

“I talked with this year’s graduates of our Suvorov Military School. Many of them want to enter military schools, including artillery schools, after graduation. This indicates the revival of the prestige of the officer rank and the attractiveness of military service, especially among young people,” the Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces emphasized in a conversation with reporters. Several dozen cadets and Suvorov students attended the meeting. “Since this school (MBAA) is supervised by the main command of the Army, we pay (it) quite a lot of attention,” the commander-in-chief noted at a meeting with journalists. - But I will say that the management and teaching staff of the school are very highly trained. These are true professionals in their field, which allows the Mikhailovsky Academy to confirm its reputation as one of the best military universities in the country,” emphasized Colonel General Oleg Salyukov.

The Mikhailovsk Military Artillery Academy is the only higher military educational institution in the country that trains artillerymen and missilemen for the Ministry of Defense and other law enforcement agencies of Russia. Over the almost 200-year history of the academy, about 100 thousand people have studied there, including 282 holders of the Order of St. George, 101 Heroes of the Soviet Union and the Russian Federation, and famous military leaders. On December 7, 2015, the MBAA celebrated the 195th anniversary of its official opening.
