Tarot cards drop two of three value cards. How to interpret divination by tarot cards

Every novice tarot reader asks how to read the alignment. After reading a huge number of options for interpreting individual maps, he is faced with the problem of their joint interpretation. You can often hear the response "the layout was read easily" or "difficult layout". Most likely it is difficult not because of the number of cards, but because of their seeming incompatibility. A lot of practice and special exercises over time will help to overcome the problem, and all the layouts will lie with you like a song. Today we bring to your attention a fragment from the book by T. Michelson "The Complete Tarot Reader", where the author tells in great detail what points you should pay attention to while reading the cards.

T. Michelson

INTERPRETATION OF TAROT LAYOUT

Small spreads

1. Create a positive fortune-telling environment - you will need a focused state of mind, enough space to lay out the cards, and enough time to interpret them. Use whatever little rituals you like to prepare the space and energy for work.

2. Make sure the question is well worded, as it will be difficult to interpret a question you do not understand. Make sure the question is in line with your ethical system, or it may happen that you have to interpret that puts you in an awkward position.

3. Make a layout corresponding to the question, as clearly define the position of the cards. Know in advance what each position means and how it relates to others.

4. If you have met the three previous conditions, you can be sure that you will receive the correct cards in response to the question. DO NOT worry about the wrong alignment, and do not think that. Maybe it would be worth remaking it. Use the cards you receive, even if many months pass before their true meaning becomes clear to you. Trust the Tarot.

5. During fortune-telling, make sure that your interpretation is consistent with the question asked and the pre-assigned positions of the cards, since they were exactly what you kept in your head when you did the alignment. Do not be shy about difficult or negative interpretations; this is often exactly what the client needs to hear.

6. While you are just learning, try not to use inverted cards and elemental virtues, wait until you have a very clear idea of how they work and how they should be interpreted. As you practice, start with small layouts (for example, one to three cards) and gradually increase the number of cards. At first, the simpler the better.

7. When starting your interpretation, study each card separately. Remind yourself what this card means to you; determine the value of the card in combination with the value of its position in the layout. Match the meaning of the card and position with the question being asked. All this can be done both silently and aloud - when you, in fact, begin the interpretation itself, it depends only on you. Some specialists prefer to talk about their conclusions as they analyze the alignment, while others first form a complete picture in their minds, and then proceed to the presentation (oral or written).

8. After examining each card individually, identify the common story they tell and bring the interpretation into a logical and coherent whole.

9. Pay attention to all patterns found in the layout. It can be:

· A large number of Major Arcana or, conversely, their absence

· Dominant suit or element

· Repeating denominations (both among the Minor and among the Major arcana), which may have numerological significance

· Ascending or descending sequences within a suit or Major arcana

· Most or all of the cards are upside down or, conversely, straight

· Elemental virtues

These patterns should only be used if they really stand out and are directly relevant to the question being asked. Don't complicate the picture or spend too much time on mechanical interpretation - let your intuition tell you when to pay attention to the pattern. The main thing is, do not forget to check if there are these patterns in the scenario, but do not assume that you are obliged to find them there. For example, if you have a three-card layout and one or two suits are missing, this is not at all unusual and worthy of special attention, since you can hardly expect that all four will be represented in a three-card layout.

10. Involve the client in the divination process, if possible. While working, ask him about his impressions, answer any questions, discuss the possible meanings of the cards. Try to maintain a balance between being absorbed in your own interpretation (the "fortuneteller is always right" attitude) and the real meaning of the alignment, since the client may have unreasonable expectations about the result of fortune telling. To do this, you need to be confident and open at the same time. Try to interpret objectively, and keep track of how the client perceives the situation, his hopes and fears about the possible outcome.

11. When the interpretation of the main hand is finished, you can take additional cards to clarify ambiguities, but never use these new cards to replace the old ones in the layout - ask new questions for any cards that clarify or reveal the meaning of the original layout, based on the indicated problem areas.

12. Summarize the main point of the alignment in several sentences.

Large spreads

Interpreting large spreads can be difficult, since the amount of information received sometimes seems excessive. Naturally, you begin to pay less attention to individual cards, but this can lead to the interpretation losing depth and failing to convey the true message of the Tarot to the client. When working with large hands, I usually use the sequential analysis technique (this is especially useful when you are guessing for yourself, as it helps to maintain some kind of emotional distance). Here is a list of questions to help structure this analysis:

1. Major arcana.

How many Major Arcana are in the alignment: are there many, not more than usual, or not at all? What does this say about the significance of the question asked in a broader context? Is there a part in the layout where there are the most High cards? Which Minor arcana support or enhance the energy of the Elders, and which work against them?

2. Suits

What elements / suits are in the layout the most? What is the distribution of suits within the layout? Are there any missing suits? What does this say about the types of elemental energies working in the situation under consideration, and how do they change? Consider each suit as a separate area of life and focus on them one by one in order to track their behavior and dynamics throughout the course of the alignment.

3. Inverted cards and elemental virtues

How many cards are turned upside down and where are they located? Maybe most of them belong to a particular suit, time period or part of the alignment? What is the situation with elemental virtues - do neighboring cards strengthen each other or weaken them? Do they harmoniously combine with the positions in which they are, or work against them?

4. Court cards

Which of the court cards are felt to be part of your own personality (or your client's), and which, in your opinion, might represent other people, and why? Is it possible that some court cards do not represent people at all?

5. Number cards

Are there any prominent or repeating number cards in the layout (do not forget the numbers of the Major Arcana)? If so, what do these cards represent from a numerological point of view? Duplicate numbers may indicate a prevailing energy or a general theme in the layout.

6. Progression

Are there any number progressions in any part of the alignment, especially within the same suit or among the Major Arcana? Progressions can indicate a learning process that is working successfully in a designated area, or, conversely, relegating you or a client to a previous stage of the path.

7. Duplicate cards

Are there any cards in the layout that you or the client have already received regularly in other layouts? If so, these could be indications of problems or important issues that need to be resolved.

8. Stories

Study the pictures on the cards separately, and consider the whole alignment as a sequence of pictures in a book of fairy tales. Maybe the cards tell a coherent story?

9. Records.

After examining all the common patterns, make a list of all cards in the layout, write down the meanings of those with which there are no problems, and put a question mark next to unclear or controversial cards. Don't be discouraged if you don't understand everything right away.

After completing the analysis according to this scheme, you will have a fairly good idea of what is happening in your layout, as well as with which cards you still have problems. Please note that most of the questions in this list are not specific to individual cards, but to general patterns and trends. It is important to remember when working with large spreads that your interpretation depends on these patterns as much as on individual cards. At first it may seem to you that each step requires a huge and hard work, but over time it will turn into just a mental reminder that you will automatically run through each time you work with the cards.

Another way is to take a really big deal and focus on specific aspects of it one at a time. Break it down into small pieces of two or four cards, and on the first day work with only one of them. On the second day (or when you feel that the meaning of the first part is completely clear to you), take on the second part, etc. sometimes it can be very useful to break the layout into small fragments and give yourself a lot of time to work. It is worth spending more time on large and important layouts, especially since they should not be done too often. It is good to do this at the end of the year, on a birthday, at the solstice or on other important holidays, during big changes in life, since big layouts help to summarize the experience of the past and outline prospects for the future.

Instructions

If you find it difficult or you do not know how to correctly interpret the message of the tarot cards, first just carefully read the meaning of each card. Try to figure out how and in what situation each card might fall. The interpretation only at first glance seems vague, but after all, the layouts cannot be specially created for each situation separately. Pay attention to the pictures, they can help you understand the message better.

Some are helped by meditation for a better knowledge of the Tarot. First you need to start meditating with the Minor Arcana. Take the map in hand, the room should be quiet, your consciousness should not be distracted by anything else. Look at the map, compare the image to the interpretation. Now place the Arcanum between your palms and feel its energy. If you don't feel anything, put this card aside for later and take another.

Imagine yourself inside the Arcana, in the thick of things. If you experience any discomfort, mentally erase the card and try to relax. Step out of the card slowly, thank her. After you have finished working with the Minor Arcana, proceed to the Elders. Only first exclude the 9, 13 and 15 Arcana from meditation, return to them after you finish working with all the other cards.

After all these actions, go directly to fortune telling. You need to interpret the cards in a special way. First, read the interpretation for each card separately. Try to compare the meaning with your situation, pay attention to the fact that a certain place of the card in the layout is responsible for different areas of life or dilemmas. If you understand everything, try looking at the big picture. As if each card is part of the same problem.

Did you know that there are over 5000 different combinations of two tarot cards?

Really. It's unrealistic to learn all of them, so it's better to understand how to interpret the cards correctly in order to save time, nerves, strength and tears. Today I will share with you some methods that will give you a solid foundation for interpreting layouts.

Keywords

If you are just starting your Let in Tarot, then this is the technique for you.

Choose a word or phrase that relates to the meaning of the card and combine with another card. You now have a treatment for the first pair of cards.

For example, 8 wands (fast message, news) + 6 cups (people from the past, children, older generation) = receiving a message from someone in your past.

Or the High Priestess (secret knowledge, intuition, psychology) + 3 pentacles (professional work, labor) = making money with the help of psychology, secret knowledge, intuition.

Read about how to identify the keywords of the Minor Arcana number cards.

The elements

The elements are one of the most significant components of the Tarot system. Each card of the Minor Arcana belongs to a certain suit, and the suit, in turn, belongs to the element.

Wands / Staves. Fire element

Describe activity, activity, creativity, personal growth, and enthusiasm.

Cups / Bowls. Element of water

Illustrate emotions, feelings, intuition and attitudes.

Swords. Element of air

Represent communication, thoughts, plans, analysis.

Pentacles / Coins. Element of earth

Indicate work, property, money, material values, skills, abilities and awards.

The method of the elements will help us understand which energies are dominant in the question being asked: mental, material, active or emotional.

For example, 3 pentacles ( earth) + 8 pentacles ( earth) = concentration on work, money, opportunities, material wealth. Man clearly does not work on sheer enthusiasm.

If cards of different suits fell out, then we combine their elements.

For example, Swords ( thoughts) + Cups ( feelings) = finding a balance between mind and feelings. For example, I like my job and the team is good, but there are some doubts, and as a result, a person cannot decide whether to leave.

Or Swords ( thoughts, strategies) + Wands ( act) = planning an action.

Major and Minor Arcana

Major Arcana show the main events of our life, and the Younger describe how they happen.

Remember the formula: Seniors (WHAT) and Younger (AS) = history.

For example, the High Priestess + 3 of wands = intuition and spiritual development (what) finds its application in the work and organization of her business (how).

Or Tower + Hermit = something unsettled a person, now he is forced to go underground, think about a lot, calm down and heal his wounds.

Or Page of Wands + 3 Pentacles = training an active young man / girl (fire type). Remember that pages of any color are young boys and girls.

With the help of the layouts of Tarot cards, you can find clues to many life questions, understand difficult and confusing situations. Love relationships and creating a family, financial difficulties and job searches - this is not a complete list of questions that the Tarot cards will help to answer.

The loss in the "Three cards" layout of two or three major arcana speaks of the importance of this situation and its strong impact on the fortuneteller's life. If at the same time arcana with a negative value, for example, Tower or Devil, falls out, this means that you cannot influence the situation and its outcome does not depend on you.

When interpreting, you need to pay attention to the presence of minor arcana of the same suit. So, for example, if you were interested in a love relationship, and Swords prevail in the scenario, this will mean quarrels, a change in the feelings of a partner and a break.

Cross layout

It also belongs to the simplest and most effective layouts that allow you to answer any questions of interest. It can be used in fortune telling about relationships, pregnancy and childbirth, partner loyalty, finances and work.

You can use the whole deck or take only the major arcana. First you need to shuffle the cards and lift them with your left hand. Draw out 4 lasso and arrange them in a cross: the first card on the left, the second on the right, the third in the center, the fourth at the bottom.

 • The first card indicates the deeper meaning of the problem.
 • The second talks about your desires and actions, which should not be done.
 • The third will advise how to proceed.
 • The fourth will show how events will develop in the future.

The "Cross" layout can also be used to clarify the meaning of the lasso in other layouts. To do this, you need to collect the cards of this layout, mix and make the layout "Cross", while asking a question about the meaning of a certain lasso.

Tarot spread "The Way"

This alignment allows you to find out what capabilities a person has to carry out the task at hand, predicts events and gives advice on how to do the right thing.

The cards must be interpreted in this order:

 1. The ability to achieve the goal. Moments to resolve the issue and potential risk.

The cards in the left column indicate the person's past behavior:

 1. Conscious actions and reasonable behavior of the fortuneteller, his thoughts.
 2. Unconscious actions and emotional attitudes, feelings.
 3. External side: what others think about this person, what actions he performed in relation to them.

The cards in the right column will show you what can be done to achieve the goal. Here it is necessary to compare the positions from second to fourth.

 1. Outer side. How to proceed. It has to happen.
 2. The emotional side. What feelings are to be faced.
 3. A rational attitude to the situation, which the fortuneteller must determine for himself.

First, you need to assess the success of the plan and the possibilities for its implementation, whether you need to strive for this goal at all, whether the time has come for this. The card in the first position will tell you about this.

If the meaning of the lasso in the first position is favorable, you can begin to consider the meaning of the remaining cards. They will help determine how to proceed in the future. The meaning of specific arcana can be found in the book: Self-instruction manual on the Tarot Hayo Bantskhav.
