Pokemon. Ash Ketchum: Worst Pokemon Coach of All Time Who Voices Pokemon Ash

Tajiri noted in an interview that in Japan they buy more things with Pikachu, and in the USA - things with Ash and Pikachu at the same time. The creator of "Pokemon" concluded that in America they understand his idea better, since a person is no less important than a Pokemon. Ash, like Red, has a rival - the grandson of Professor Oak Gary Oak (Blu in the games), who is called Shigeru in the Japanese version of the anime, after Shigeru Miyamoto, whom Tajiri considers his teacher. Tajiri highlighted the difference between the relationship between Red and Blue and Ash and Gary: if the first two are real rivals, then Gary is rather Ashu's older friend. To the question “Will Ash Gari ever surpass” Tajiri replied “No! Never!" ... Ash's age does not change throughout the series: he is always 10 years old. The creators of the anime explain that otherwise the series would have been aimed at an older audience.

Scoring

In the Japanese version of the anime, Ash is voiced by voice actor Rika Matsumoto. As she herself said, it is easy for her to voice the main characters-boys, since she had a very lively character as a child, and that is why she likes to voice Satoshi. In the American dub by 4Kids Entertainment, Ash is voiced by Veronica Taylor, after the eighth season, in the dub of The Pokémon Company - Sarah Natochenny. After the dialogues have been translated from Japanese, they are changed to fit in length. The dubbing took place in complete isolation, so Taylor spent six to eight hours in the dubbing room. Her voice was often recorded very first, so she had to imagine the lines spoken before her words. “Fortunately, I worked with a good director who helped me understand the meaning of the dialogues and observe intonation.” Taylor said that she loved voicing Ash because of his "hoarse and low voice" and "energy and cheerfulness." In addition, Taylor noticed that Ash and his friends "went into a rage" after the first ten episodes of the anime: she felt that the writing work became less stressful, which is why she liked more to voice Ash in the later episodes. In the Russian version, Ash was voiced by Anna Levchenko in the first seasons, and since 2008 by Larisa Nekipelova.

Reviews and popularity

Book The Japanification of Children’s Popular Culture called Ash an example of a collective image of all players: like the players, he is a newcomer to the game world and is only discovering it for himself. In addition, it is noted in the book that Ash grows more and more experienced and develops throughout the anime series. UGO.com ranked Ash as the 15th most memorable headgear wearer, noting that "he can be loved or hated, but everyone knows Ash Ketchum because of his red and white cap." 2011 Guinness Book of World Records - Edition for Gamers put Ash in 37th place in the list of favorite computer game characters, although Ash himself almost never appeared in games.

Pokemon - The popularity of these funny, touching and extraordinary creatures has not faded away for 20 years. The whimsical name "Pokemon" hides an entire fictional universe created by insect collector and gamer Satoshi Tajiri. Pokemon are fantastic creatures endowed with unusual abilities that inhabit an alternative reality to our modernity. There, Pokémon can live in the wild or be in the collection of a trainer - a person who collects and trains these creatures. Pokémon of different trainers compete with each other, gaining experience and skills. Over time, Pokémon evolve into a stronger form, and the trainer, famous for his victories, receives recognition and awards.

The Pokemon universe was embodied in video games, and then other projects. Curiously, the history of the franchise originates precisely from the passion for collecting, which would later become the slogan “Collect them all!”. Pokemon (pokemon - "pocket monster") were born out of Satoshi Tajiri's fantasies about how one could exchange and compete with their virtual pets. According to legend, this idea came to the developer when he saw a beetle crawling along the wire between the Game Boy consoles.

The fantastic world of Pokemon amazes with its diversity

However, Satoshi Tajiri turned out to be more than a dreamer. He organized his own game development studio, and with the idea of Pokemon he came not just anywhere, but to Nintendo. By the way, The Pokemon Company is still owned by this corporation. Nintendo has managed Pokemon Co JP well since 1996, when the world first heard of Pokemon. During this time, a huge number of computer and board games, games for consoles and smartphones, an anime cartoon about Pokemon, comics and countless other products that exploit the universe of pocket monsters have been created.

At the moment, 721 types of Pokemon are known. However, each new generation of games expands their list. Despite the lulls, the idea of Satoshi Tajiri still lives on. In Russia, the word "pokemon" was first heard after the release of the anime "Pokemon" on television screens. The cartoon immediately attracted attention, so in the early 2000s, the Pokemon boom overtook both Russian viewers and gamers. After some time, the series was forgotten, but the new game "Pokemon Go" returned Pokemon to the top of news.

"Pokemon" (Pokemon) - an anime created on the basis of computer games about the Pokemon universe. The first Pokemon cartoon was released in 1997. The Pokemon cartoon includes over 900 episodes, however, the production of new releases does not stop to this day. The new Pokémon of 2016 delight both adults and children in the same way as the first episodes of the project.

Characters

- the main character throughout all Pokemon seasons. Characters in the show tend to be influenced by Ash and his regional movements, so he is a central figure in the show. Ash is a ten year old boy who dreams of becoming the greatest Pokemon trainer. He is active and brave in battles, but kind and gentle towards his friends and Pokémon. Ash is hardworking, persistent and honest, he can be called an overwhelmingly positive character. Ash's best friend is Pokémon Pikachu, with whom he does not part on any journey. Ash's friends in the Pokémon animated series also include Misty, Brock, May, Don, Iris, Serena, Cilan, Clemont, and Bonnie.

Misty - Ash's best friend, leader of the Cerulin stadium. He specializes in water Pokémon and loves to talk about them. She hates ghost Pokemon and insects. Hot-tempered, but easy-going. Likes to put in Brock's place. She has a sisterly relationship with Ash, although in some episodes, the audience saw sympathy between the characters, bordering on falling in love. It was very difficult for Ash to part with Misty when they parted ways.

Brock - Ash's best friend, is the head of the stadium in Pewter. Brock is a romantic who pays a lot of attention to pretty girls around him. He especially likes Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy. Brock's Pokémon are of interest not only as combat units, but also as a kind of personality. He argues about the importance of the connection between the trainer and the Pokémon. Brock travels with Ash until Season 13, when he decides to become a doctor for Pokémon.

Professor Oak Is a respected scientist in the Pokemon world. He gave Ash his first Pokemon and mentored the main character throughout the series' many seasons.

Harry Oak - the grandson of Professor Oak, one of Ash's main rivals. Harry always managed to be ahead of Ash, so the main character decided to beat Harry by all means. He only succeeded in the Joto League.

Throughout all seasons, Ash confronts the main villains - Team R

- the main villains of the Pokémon series. Team R characters: Jesse, James and their Pokémon. Their goal is to catch as many rare Pokemon as possible. Usually they do it dishonestly, threatening the life and health of pocket monsters and all the people around them. They are especially eager to steal Pikachu from Ash. Usually Team R gets a decent rebuff, after which it comically retires to hell. Jesse and James' boss is Giovanni, a former Pokémon trainer who has taken a criminal path.

Music and songs about Pokemon

Pokemon music is largely borrowed from games. The series' themes are written by composers Junichi Masuda and Shinji Miyazaki. According to Masuda, he wrote the music for the Pokemon OST influenced by the themes from the films Ben-Hur and The Bridge on the River Kwai. He was also inspired by the work of Shostakovich, Stravinsky, Chopin and some electronic music performers.

The most famous pathetic song "Pokemon" Pokemon Theme Song. It is performed in many languages, including Russian. In the opening of Pokémon, it is sung on behalf of Ash that he wants to become the best trainer and collect all the Pokémon. And although the music was different in different seasons, the song about the Pokémon from the original series was remembered by the audience the most. Also very popular is the Pokemon song called PokeRAP, which lists all the names of the Pokemon. For those wishing to listen to all the songs of "Pokemon", it is recommended to find compilations of anime soundtracks that were released on CDs. Pokemon lyrics:

Videogames

Computer games about the Pokemon universe were released by Game Freak, and then Nintendo. Pokemon, the first generation game, was available for Nintendo. Pokémon changed from set to set, their number increased. The first generation game Pokemon Red and Blue (Pokemon Red and Green in the original) was introduced in 1996, and 151 Pokemon interacted in it. In the wake of the extraordinary popularity of the game, Pokemon Yellow and Pokemon Yellow Special Pikachu Edition follow. The second generation of games includes Pokemon Gold and Silver, the 1999 sequel to Pokemon Red, and Pokemon Crystal. The third generation of the game was marked by the release in the 2000s of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, Pokemon Colosseum, Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness, Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Pokemon Fire Red and Pokemon Leaf Green are remakes of Pokemon Red.

The video games "Pokemon Red and Blue" were introduced in 1996

The fourth generation of games includes games with 3D graphics Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Pokemon Platinum - an updated version of Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver - remakes of the second generation, Pokemon Battle Revolution. The latter game, thanks to the Pokemon Revolution Online version, allowed Pokemon to be swapped over the Internet. The fifth generation includes Pokemon Black and White, as well as Pokemon Black 2 and White 2. The sixth: Pokemon X and Y, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Pokemon Sun and Moon. Notable non-franchise games include Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team, Pokemon World Online, League 17: Pokemon, Pokemon TCG, Pokemon Tower Defense, Pokemon Showdown, Pokemon Tournament, Pokemon Planet, Pokemon Ash Gray, and a game for mobile devices Pokemon Go.

For those who want to play Pokemon Online, you can offer to go through "Pokemon: Favorite Pets" - a game in the spirit of "Mario", collect the puzzle "Pokemon: Mahjong", look for Pokemon-legend in "Catch Pokemon in the forest", "Catch a Pokemon "," Find a Pokemon "," Search for Pokemon "," Pokemon Catchers ". In the company of a Pokémon, you can participate in battles in the Pokémon Battle and Pokémon Defending the Fortress games. For those looking for a game about Pokemon for two, Pokemon Battles are usually advised.

Toys

An impressive number of different game products have been created around the Pokemon universe. The most popular was Pokemon Cards - a collectible card game in which everyone can feel like a Pokemon trainer. Colorful Pokémon cards contain information about a Pokémon, its combat abilities and defense skills. This allows you to create real battles using the Pokémon CCG. In addition, those who love Pokémon, toys and anime about them will definitely appreciate the collectible figures, Pokeballs, stadium icons and Pokémon coloring pages.

Comics and Manga

There are several comic book and manga series based on the Pokémon games and anime. Pokemon Pocket Monsters manga, released in 1997, fell in love with Pokemon fans. The plot of the comics duplicates the plot of the series, but at the same time liberties and some differences are allowed. In addition, the names of the heroes have been changed in the Pokemon manga, for example, Ash is called Red there. In general, comics about Pokemon are made with humor, but there is a presence of cruelty compared to other projects. Interestingly, Satoshi Tajiri himself once said that he likes the Pokemon Adventures manga series more than the anime series. According to the creator of Pokémon, the comics better convey the essence of the Pokémon universe than the series.

Public criticism and perception

Pokémon anime is known in over 75 countries and has incredible TV ratings. For example, the first full-length Pokemon film, Mewtwo vs. Mew, is recognized as the highest grossing medium of all anime films in the history of cinema. Anything overly popular always gets the opposite response, so Pokemon certainly has its fans and harsh critics.

Over the course of its existence, products based on the Pokemon universe have received a huge number of critical reviews. The fanatical fascination of players and spectators with Pokémon could not fail to cause a public response. As always, there were people who found this enthusiasm dangerous. In particular, it is widely believed that cartoons and games about Pokemon have a negative impact on the physical and mental state of a person. The argument is a case of a massive epileptic seizure that occurred after the television broadcast of episode 38 of season 1 of the anime "Pokemon". After watching the episode, 685 young viewers were hospitalized with photosensitive epilepsy. It is believed that the seizure was caused by the flickering light of the screen.

Due to the "danger to children's health" the series is officially banned in several countries. So, the Ministry of Health of Turkey spoke about the fact that "Pokemon" is the propaganda of violence and false heroism. According to Turkish experts, anime about Pokemon can cause mental abnormalities in young viewers. Also, the game was sued due to the development of addiction to gambling. For the same reason, Pokemon is banned in the Arab states.

Information has often appeared in the Russian press that Pokemon “zombies” the brain of children. In particular, Argumenty i Fakty published the statements of Elena Rusalkina, director of the Research Institute of Psychotechnology, about the hypnosis of children in the 25th frame inserted into the Pokemon animated series. Representatives of the Russian government also speak disapprovingly of products related to Pokémon. The series and games received negative reviews from the Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee of the Federation Council of Russia Franz Klintsevich and the Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolai Nikiforov. In their opinion, Pokemon games were created by special services to collect video information.

Massive flash mob from Pokemon fans

Church officials have argued that Pokemon games develop the imagination and have no negative influence on children. But then their rhetoric changed. They were outraged by the evolutionary concept, and in contrast to the card game about Pokémon, the game Christian Power Cards was even released, where biblical characters appeared instead of pocket monsters. After the release of the game Pokemon Go, which includes churches in their locations, a wave of indignation hit the Pokemon. Some religious leaders called the game "satanic", others saw in it the propaganda of Freemasonry and Zionism. Pokémon game developers deny the presence of any hint of religion in the Pokémon games and anime.

Among other things, critics point out that fanatical Pokémonoans can be dangerous to other people. For example, there are cases when Pokemon Go players committed illegal actions: they broke into other people's houses, into secret objects, participated in violence in order to catch a rare Pokemon, etc.

However, there are many positive reviews about Pokemon games and cartoons. Many critics have spoken in the spirit that this is a good children's series, which is also suitable for those who remain a child at heart. Anime reviews often talk about deep issues that Pokémon actually raises: responsibility for whoever it has tamed, humanity towards animals and people, loyalty, friendship, honesty, respect for nature. Critics talk about the show's good humor as well as strong dramatic moments. The Ogonyok reviewers have found good and eternal in Pokemon, and the authors of Home Computer praise the series for the absence of violence and death. Popularizers of Japanese animation deny the accusations towards the series and claim that not a single living creature has ever died in it.

Some psychologists praise Pokémon's products for encouraging people with social phobia and agoraphobia to get out of their comfort zone and interact with the world around them. In particular, this applies to the game Pokemon Go, in favor of which the behaviorists spoke out.

 • What does pokemon mean? Of course, the "pocket monster". However, initially these monsters were not called Pokemon, but Kapumons - capsule monsters. The name "Pokemon" was proposed by Nintendo.
 • There are several localizations of the Pokemon anime. The Russian-speaking viewer is familiar with the American version. Interestingly, in the Japanese version of Pokémon, Ash is named Satoshi, after the creator of the Pokémon universe.

In the first edition, the name of the monsters sounded like "kapumons"

 • After the release of the Pokémon games, they were second only to Nintendo's Mario game in popularity.
 • The very first Pokémon invented for games was Raydon. This is why it is so common in the drawings of early game developers.
 • The most popular Pokémon in the entire history of the franchise: adorable Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, dull Psidak and Jiglipuf - a Pokémon that literally puts you to sleep with its singing.
 • The best friend of the main character should not be Pikachu, but Clefeiri. However, Pokemon master Ash got Pikachu, as this Pokemon was equally liked by girls and boys.
 • Games dedicated to the Pokemon universe received a blessing from the Vatican.
 • Several characteristics of Pokemon are anatomically correct for real animals. For example, the appearance of Polivag corresponds to an ordinary tadpole.
 • Ash and his friends do not grow up, although, according to the timing of the anime, they have been traveling for over 10 years. Satoshi Tajiri explained this feature by his reluctance to change the age audience, since Pokemon is primarily intended for children.
 • Victor Pelevin comprehended the natures of Pokémon Pikachu and Meowth in the novel "Numbers", connecting the main characters of the work with him.
 • Have you ever wondered what Pokemon Hitmonly stands for or who does it represent? The prototypes of Hitmonly and Hitmonchan are Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, respectively.
 • In a world where Pokémon live, female trainers are not uncommon. The most popular Pokemon girls are Serena, Iris, Don, May, Jessie from Team R, Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy, Ash's rival and Pokemon trainer Cynthia and, of course, Misty.
 • The world of Pokemon has affected such cartoons as "Robot Chicken", "The Simpsons", "South Park", "Multreality", where any images from the anime "Pokemon" or facts related to it are parodied.

Any popular franchise sooner or later becomes overgrown with fan speculation, and the more harmless it looks, the darker the fan theories. And sometimes they are much more interesting than the original product.

In this article, we'll share some interesting theories that will make you look differently at the world of Pokémon.

Ash Ketchum is not human?

Perhaps the rest of the "people" of the other world did too. This speculation is built primarily on the discrepancy between information from games and anime (although anime is not a canon). For example, in this picture, Ash (a 10-year-old boy) is wearing the Pokemon Hippopotas, whose weight, according to the official information in Pokedex, is about 50 kilograms. Ash carries it and doesn't sweat. Ash carried Larvitar's Pokemon in his backpack (according to the office information - about 70 kilograms) and held Flechinder, a bird Pokemon weighing 16 kilograms, on his outstretched hand.

In different episodes, this 10-year-old monster was freed from metal cages by ramming, metal heavy logs larger than it, took on the chest attacks of strong Pokemon (physical and enhanced fire), jumped above 5 meters in height (with acceleration), ran along vertical walls , climbed trees with the dexterity of a squirrel, jumped over an abyss with a 9-year-old girl in her arms, and was only slightly dented when a herd of 30 Tauros, bull Pokémon, and more ran along it. A complete list of Ash's "exploits" deserves a separate article. Pikachu constantly sits on his shoulders, and in fact, according to Pokedex, a normal Pikachu weighs 6 kg. And the rest of the inhabitants are good - individual characters (often children) raised heavy Pokémon or calmly touched the Pokémon while they were hot.

2

Is Ash Ketchum a clone?

Ash died in the early episodes, but his mother could not come to terms with this, and ordered his cloning. However, the process is imperfect and clones do not last long. This explains why Ash is always 10 years old, why, after traveling in each region, he says goodbye to all companions and Pokémon (except Pikachu, who knows his secret) - each clone lives only one year, exactly as long as it takes to explore one region. And that's why, after so many years, Ash in each new region behaves like a noob, making shameful mistakes, and, in fact, learning again.

3

Is there an epic war in the Pokémon world?

This speculation is primarily based on the original games. Players explore a world dominated by miniature, half-empty settlements. There are few large cities, and they are not that big either. Fantastic few adults. Almost no one controls children. The main character is almost always deprived of one of the parents (usually a father), and his rival is an orphan altogether. Most of the adults are either old people, or they work hard to train war animals, or are associated with the army or one or another criminal group. One of the trainers in the very first game mentions that electric Pokémon saved him during the war.

4

Who is Red's father?

By the way, about adults in general and parents in particular. The main hero of Pokemon games is almost always fatherless. He has a mother, but nothing is said about his father anywhere. So, according to one fan theory, Red has a father (this is the default name of the glav hero). Throughout the game to Red in each Hall (Gym) Conductor meets (Gym Guide) , a funny guy who provides moral assistance to the main hero and provides some information. He only helps the main character, and follows him throughout the region. One and the same guy is found in all Halls - which would not have happened if he was the standard assistant for all coaches. Some fans are sure that he is the father of the hero. He left Krasny's pregnant mother, and ever since then felt guilty. He tries to atone for his guilt by helping his son, but he cannot bring himself to gather courage and reveal his identity.

5

Who pays the bills?

The world of Pokémon is a wonderful and strange place where dangers lie in wait at every turn, where the most dangerous criminals do not use weapons, and hospitals for Pokémon, Pokémon Centers, treat crippled pets absolutely free ... is that so? In most developed countries (and the Pokémon world still seems to be a developed country ... sometimes), treatment is always paid. Especially treating animals. If you believe one fan theory, Pokémon Centers simply do not present a bill to the main hero (what normal person would go to a 10-year-old jerk with receipts?). All bills are sent to the glavhero's home and paid by his mother. While Red squeezes out unfortunate pennies from ordinary tourists and runs into large gangs, his mother pays endless bills from various Pokemon Centers.

6

Are Digimons digital versions of Pokémon?

One fan theory links Pokemon to another series of video games and anime, the Digimons. And it consists in the following: Digimons are digital versions of Pokémon that have turned off. This is supported by the fact that the main character of Pokémon can carry only six pets with him. The rest are digitized and stored on his computer. But what if a short circuit happens? Or does another computer user accidentally download a virus, winlocker, ransomware? Files become unusable and get infected. Let's take a look at Digimonov. The word itself is derived from DIGItal MONsters - digital monsters. The names of all Digimons end in "-mon" - Agmon, Zudamon, Hydramon, etc. Very similar to the file extension, .top. The Charizard picture would be called Charizard.jpg, and the Charizard file itself would be Charizard.mon. Although, these two franchises are owned by different companies and are not related in any way.

7

Is Slopek an all-knowing Pokemon?

According to one not the most popular theory, known even to many outside the Pokémon Slope fandom (Slowpoke) is a brake for a reason. There is a hunch that he is actually an all-knowing Pokemon. Petabytes of cosmic knowledge rush through his head, and he is so absorbed in studying the mysteries of the universe that it is not so easy for him to return "from heaven to earth", which is why he slows down so much. This theory is supported by the fact that in games the type of Slopeck is water / psychic. And also the fact that he evolves into Slooking, a superhumanly wise Pokemon, when a poisonous mollusk bites him on the head, presumably injecting some "brake fluid" into the brain and lowering the epic's level from "knows the secrets of the universe" to "just knows a lot."

8

Is the protagonist of the first Pokémon game a killer?

The main character can't be bad? Of course it can. There is one fan theory that the main character of the first Pokémon game is a killer. And it consists of this: Red (in the anime - Ash) has a rival, the grandson of a scientist (in the anime - Harry). And at the beginning of the game, he repeatedly collides with Red, using the Pokémon Raticate in battle. The last collision before the long separation takes place on board the ship. After that, an accident occurs, the steamer sinks. Subsequently, Red meets up with the Rival in a remote town in the Pokémon graveyard. And the Contender no longer has Raticate. Perhaps he dumped it into the computer, and Raticatemon is now running somewhere. But fans are sure that in one of the battles, Raticate received injuries incompatible with life. This confirms Rival's question: "Do you know what it is like to lose a Pokémon?"

But there is also a refutation of this theory. After all, Raticate is not the strongest Pokemon, and there is evidence that Harry / Rival simply put him into the computer. And he actually came to the cemetery to catch the ghost Pokemon.

9

Are Team R goodies?

Another fan theory is that Team R are good guys. In any case, the original team from the games is a powerful and almost legal organization that does not kidnap Pokémon, owns a casino, and has stolen only two items - a special device to facilitate communication with ghosts and Master Ball - a Pokeball that can catch any Pokemon. Giovanni, the head of the corporation, stole these items in order to prevent the horror that the freed Mewtwo could bring to the world. But that's not all.

What's the team's motto? "To save the world from destruction, to unite our entire generation, to get rid of truth and love, so that we can reach the star peaks." Different criminal teams appear in different games of the series, and Team R actually opposes all of them, which is reflected in its motto. Teams Aqua and Magma try to flood the entire Earth with Kiogra or drain them with Graudon (two epic Pokémon). "To save the world from destruction ...". Team Flame are elitists seeking to harness the energies of Zerneas and Ivelthal (two epically powerful Pokémon) to finally divide society into Elite and Rogue. "To unite our entire generation ...". Team Plasma paving the way to Hell with good intentions and covering up their crimes with "good intentions" - "To get rid of truth and love ...", and Team Galaxy wants to destroy the Universe and recreate it in its own image. "To reach the star peaks for us." And Giovanni with the R team devoted his life to protecting the world from the rest of the Teams who are ready to destroy this world. But he is defeated by a 10-year-old jerk, which gives the rest of the teams a real chance to bring their plans to life.

Another theory about Team R is related exclusively to anime. According to this theory, Team R is, again, not bad guys, but not on such an epic scale. According to this theory, Jesse and James are not chasing Ash to take Pikachu away. Pikachu is not unique, he can't even speak (unlike their Meowth, the rarest representative of talking Pokémon). In fact, they were hired by Ash's mother to save him from real dangers and increase his self-esteem by attacking him very convincingly, and even more convincingly getting hit on the head by him. And behind the scenes, while Ash cannot see, Team R removes the real bandits from the path. This also goes well with another fan theory - Giovanni, the boss of Team R, is Ash's father.

10

Is James the storyteller?

And finally, another (rather weak, from the point of view of many) theory says that all the events of the Pokemon anime are told from the point of view of not Ash, but James, a guy from the R team, alas, hopelessly infantile, and possibly mentally ill. And Meowth doesn't really know how to speak - it's James ventriloquism, "for fun." And Meowth just, like Pikachu, subtly senses the mood of the owner, and knows when to open his mouth. A couple of arguments in favor of this theory:

 1. James is very protective of his Pokémon.
 2. Team R constantly loses, because subconsciously James is sure that he and Jesse are villains, and good must win.
 3. In Team R's motto, Jesse's lines are usually sinister and serious, while James's lines are somewhat romantic and seem out of place.

Against this theory, it is argued that the anime showed Meowth talking while away from James. And they said that he learned to speak in order to seduce one Meutessa (female Meowth). And because of this, he cannot learn normal combat movements - the entire reserve of training went to learning the language. But then again, this could all be James' invention.

"I want to become the best" - is sung at the beginning of each episode of the cartoon. Sadly, for over 15 years, Ash Ketchum has gone to great lengths to prove that this is not the case.

Perhaps this is too rude. Ash is only 10 years old, after all. He also has no control over the dire script that the creators of the anime are writing. But after his recent flop in the poker league for Junov, it's time to figure out what went wrong on the boy's journey.

Canto

In the very first season, Ash appears as a rookie coach. He has an uncontrollable Pikachu, a beautiful girlfriend who does not leave him because of a broken bike, and an eyeless friend who falls in love with everything that moves. The trio roam the Kanto region and constantly try to outsmart Team R with their cheap disguises. Unfortunately, the stadium leaders hand out badges to Ash as if they were candy, so he is unable to learn anything. Here are some examples:

 • In the battle with Brock, Ash uses the Electric Pokémon Pikachu against the Earth type. Everything is going so badly that he loses the first fight "dry". The second time he manages to win solely thanks to the destroyed fire system. Brock simply felt sorry for his Pokemon.
 • Pikachu refuses to fight Misty, but her sisters present Ash with a badge on a silver platter without even fighting.
 • During the battle with Lieutenant Serge, Raichu hits the boy's ambitions so hard that he ponders Pikachu's evolution for a chance to win. They come up with another idea, and they win thanks to the speed of the latter.
 • Against Sabrina ... phew, I don't even know where to start. Kadabra pounds Pikachu, so Ash goes to find the ghost Pokemon. His soul leaves his body, friends think that he is dead, but Ash does not care - he trolls Misty. The Hunter then refuses to fight and the friends are turned into dolls. Great job. In the third round, Ash has to lose again, but out of nowhere, the haunter amuses Sabrina. Quite enough for an icon, isn't it?
 • While fighting Erika, Ash uses Pikachu against the grass type (the chances of winning are reduced to a minimum), but suddenly the stadium catches fire. Erika eventually awards Ash a badge for helping out in the fire.

Not surprisingly, Ash lost in the poker league that year.

We have not yet touched on the boy's actions in other regions ...

[email protected] Administrator Pokemon GO is a real game

Over the past 20 years, Ash Ketchum has become a legend in the Pokémon universe, and his adventures have been followed by millions of fans around the world. For such an amount of time, the main character of the series could not but accumulate mistakes and mistakes, for which the creators should be ashamed. Let's go over the stupidest and loudest of them, because they showed that Ash does not always act like a good person.

Refused any tips for teaching Pokemon

One of Ash's most annoying flaws is his complete reluctance to learn. Ketchum is a disgusting Pokémon trainer, despite the fact that he dreams of becoming the best of them. It should be understood that despite 992 episodes in the series and 24 films, the character is still 10 years old, and children at his age are not the biggest fans of learning.

Couldn't explain the difference between women and Pokemon

When Ash meets his old rival, Gary Oak, he travels with his fan club of six young girls. And Ash takes them for Pokemon. It is clear that Ketchum lives in a world in which both the chandelier and the ice cream cone can turn out to be Pokemon. And girls with a limited vocabulary traveling with a Pokémon trainer may well pass for not people. However, it was still difficult to confuse ...

Didn't win any badges

In the Pokémon League, for the sake of the badge, you must defeat the leader of one of the halls. However, Ash received awards more out of pity than because of his ability to train Pokémon. Ash actually defeated only three leaders from Kanto Jim, and in other cases received help from other coaches, exchanged badges for services and was eliminated from serious tournaments in the early stages.

Dragged Pikachu on a rope

At the very beginning of his journey, Ash made two mistakes at once: he slept on the first day and decided to leave Pikachu free. Usually trainers keep pets in Pokeballs, but the creators of the series did not want to leave the charismatic character off-screen, and they solved the issue in this way. Ketchum first dragged Pikachu in rubber gloves, and then generally dragged along with him on a rope.

Made Pikachu evolve and change his mind

Ash's desire to win a battle often borders on insanity. He lost in the Vermilion Hall when he decided to release Pikachu against his older brother Raichu and caused his pet to get into a hospital bed. Even sitting in the hospital, Ash continued to complain and whine about fate, and when Pikachu refused to evolve, he left the Thunderstone by his bed just in case. Well done, a true friend!

Launched an unstable Charizard against an opponent

At first, Ash did the right thing - he saved Charmander from the cruel Damian. When Charmander became the mighty Charizard, he refused to obey his new master. And all because Ash did not have enough experience to subdue such a powerful Pokemon. On those rare occasions when Charizard got out of Pokeball, he either fell asleep or organized pogroms.

Dropped 30 Tauros on the unsuspecting Professor Oak

Each Pokémon Trainer has in mind the task of helping Professor Oak to add to his Pokémon collection. But Ash did his own thing - he caught 30 huge ferocious bulls, which destroyed the entire laboratory and nearly trampled Ketchum's mother.

Piracy

There is one little-known episode in which Ash commits his first (and not the only) criminal offense - stealing a boat. The second crime is manslaughter in the scene where Ash crashes into Team P's submarine in a hijacked yacht, leaving them to die at the bottom of the ocean. Of course they survive, this is a cartoon. But in life it would be different.

Unleashed an enraged Primemap on Team P

This happened in the series when Ash caught a very aggressive Pokémon fighter and threw him into a pit towards Team R. He not only beat the Pokémon, but also came off on their owners. Jesse was thrown face down on a boulder, and Brock was sent to another city with a powerful blow. In general, Ash cannot be denied cruelty, although he usually arranged all his traps for opponents without knowing about it.

Left the souls of my friends trapped in a mad psychopath

Ash's worst act. He left his friends in captivity of a creature with enormous psychic power. When he defeated Sabrina in Saffron City, he discovered that she was communicating through a doll, which she brought to life with her strange ability. Ash didn't even make it to the battle, he fled, leaving Brock and Misty captive to Sabrina. True, then he returned and fought with her. But first he ran away, that's a fact.
