The main distinguishing feature of Mirror's Edge is its mechanics, and in Catalyst it has been preserved as accurately as possible. Jumps feel the same as before, and with them rolls, pull-ups and running along the walls. However, much has changed for the better. Probably the key innovation was the "cat-hook", which helps to cling to special "points" in the game world. Even though you can't use the grappling hook everywhere, it still greatly revives the familiar gameplay, adding new opportunities while escaping from opponents or, on the contrary, attacking.
