I’ll pick up flowers and give you a bouquet,
To the girl I love.

Target: teach how to make flower pots and bicycles from waste materials.

Tasks: expand knowledge in the field of decorative and applied arts, development of creative potential, formation of environmental and aesthetic culture when working with waste material.

Detailed description of the master class “Powerpots - bicycle”.
Necessary materials:
- twine thread
- thick cardboard
- pencil
- cocktail straws
- glue "Titan"
- coffee beans
- scissors

Progress:

1. Take thick cardboard, attach an object that is very similar to a wheel (for example, a reel of adhesive tape), trace it, cut it out. For one wheel you will need 2 pieces of cardboard, they need to be glued together. You need to make 3 of these bases for the wheel.

2. We wrap all the blanks with jute twine.

3. Take a cocktail tube, measure 2 centimeters before and after the bend, cut it off - these will be the bicycle spokes, this is necessary for the stability of the structure. For one wheel you will need 4 blanks. Since there are 3 wheels, 12 pieces need to be made. Then wrap all the pieces with twine.

4. Glue 4 blanks wrapped with twine together using Titan glue, like this.

5. We insert this structure into a circle of cardboard wrapped with twine. The wheel is ready. A bicycle will need 3 of these wheels.

6. Take whole coffee beans and glue one side of the back of a bicycle wheel.

7. Take a cocktail tube, measure 2 centimeters before the bend and 3 centimeters after the bend, cut it off. We will need 2 of these blanks for the steering wheel. Now they need to be connected to each other.

8. We wrap the resulting steering wheel with twine.

9. Take 1 cocktail tube, measure 11 centimeters, such a blank will fasten the rear wheels together.

10. We decorate the edges of the steering wheel that we have and the parts for fastening the rear wheels with small coffee beans.

11. Take one tube, bend it and stretch it where the bend is. You need to cut the tube on the short side, spread a drop of glue and insert the piece left over from the blanks for the wheels into it.

12. We wrap the resulting structure with jute twine. You will need 2 of these blanks.

13. Let's start assembling the bike. We insert a straight tube into the rear wheels using Titan glue.

14. In the front wheel, insert the blanks from points No. 11,12. We glue it for strength. We decorate the front wheel on both sides.

15. We insert a piece of tube 2 centimeters long between the upper tubes and glue it.

16. We wrap what happened with twine.

17. Take a container that will directly serve as a flowerpot (for example, yogurt, butter). Wrap with twine and decorate with coffee beans.

18. Glue the steering wheel and flowerpots. We insert artificial flowers into the flower pots. The flowerpot in the shape of a bicycle is ready.

You can place any flowers you like in the pots, both artificial and real.

Creativity, the desire for beauty and the desire to show individuality - all this is inherent in a person from birth and is embodied in a wide variety of forms. Most often, creativity manifests itself in an interesting area. Thus, gardeners experiment in every possible way with their local area, writers and artists find inspiration in prose and on canvas, amateur motorists stylize their cars, and cyclists actively decorate their two-wheeled companion.

You can do bicycle tuning both during everyday life and on the eve of a significant event: New Year, opening of the season, bicycle parade, etc. What ways can you decorate your bicycle so that it looks decent and does not cause unhealthy ridicule from the outside?

Bike styling methods

Since the topic of styling or external design is touched upon here, we immediately omit the mechanisms. They don't need decorations. The traditional division of a bike is frame, handlebars, wheels. You can tune them in different ways - from “harmless” little frills to completely changing the color scheme and light styling.

Thus, you can decorate a bicycle in the following ways:

  • vinyl stickers on the frame and steering;
  • decor: ribbons, tinsel, colored wire, flowers (for ladies' bikes), flags, etc., whatever your imagination allows;
  • repainting the frame and rims;
  • knitting needle decoration;
  • light styling.

Stickers are an easy way to add individuality and add new rich colors to the color scheme.

High-quality vinyl will not only adhere firmly to the pipes, but will also preserve areas of paint. Some bike enthusiasts even reupholster the bike completely, eliminating the need for repainting.

Flame stickers look good on a cool colored frame

Sticker areas: head tube, head tube, fork, chainstays. It is not recommended to paste over areas that are often dirty and located near the transmission. The patterns will become covered with dirt, and no one will see them.

Decor is an excellent temporary styling. Typically used to decorate a bicycle for a parade or holiday. During the May holidays, St. George's ribbons fluttering on the steering wheel will be relevant, flags at the parade, and tinsel and rain at the New Year. Active amateurs decorate the bike all the time: they change the rubber linings on the steering wheel, screw colored rings onto the frame, even wrap the brake cables with serpentine.

For the New Year, you can dress up a bike instead of a Christmas tree

Painting the frame and wheels is perhaps the most time-consuming process of converting a bike. However, it is possible to do this at home. Cyclists have spray paint and primer, tools and even stencils at their disposal. All this is on the shelves for free sale. The old paint is peeling off, you’re tired of the color, or you just want new paints - all these problems are solved.

Wheel styling can be classified as a separate area of bicycle tuning. When everything suits you, but you want to give your bike a touch of exclusivity, cyclists resort to decorating the wheels. The best option is to wrap the bicycle spokes with colored wire, bright thin ribbons, and stick on multi-colored rings or glitter.

Decorating knitting needles with colored wire has been a tradition since the times of the USSR

Light tuning is applicable to both the frame and wheels. LED strips are an easy way to illuminate your bike, become more visible on the road and catch the admiring glances of passers-by. LED lighting options:

  • continuous,
  • flashing,
  • programmed.

In the latter case, the lights flash in a strict sequence, resulting in patterns or letters being displayed when moving.

Continuous LED illumination of frame, rims and saddle

Animators on bicycle wheels – removable light plates – have become very popular. They run on built-in batteries and blink, flash and shimmer when moving.

How to transform an old bike

With proper care, a bicycle even with a 50-year history will look no worse than new, and styling will change it beyond recognition. If you have an old Soviet city bike tucked between your car and a rack of tools in your garage, you shouldn’t rush to sell it on bulletin boards or dismantle it for scrap. With the help of competent tuning, it will find a second life and will delight the owner with its excellent appearance and excellent driving characteristics.

At the first stage, you will have to go through all the mechanisms, replace worn parts of the carriage, bushings and transmission, change bent and broken spokes on the wheels, and update the tires. Half the battle is over, all that remains is to update the colors and add some zest:

  1. Repaint the frame.
  2. Decorate with stencils or stick vinyl.
  3. Tuning the wheels.
  4. Light up the bike.

Painting the frame is a labor-intensive step and will take about 2 days. When painting a bicycle with your own hands, the main thing is to provide good conditions and space for work. The work is carried out in five stages:

  1. Stripping old paint, removing rust.
  2. Degreasing.
  3. Primer in two or three layers.
  4. Applying paint from a spray can.
  5. Drying (up to 2 days in a suspended state).

Applying drawings through film stencils:

  1. Cover the area to be painted.
  2. Spray paint onto the cutout, going over the film to thoroughly paint the edges of the design.
  3. Dry and remove the stencil.

Updated Soviet bicycle

Stickers are simpler in terms of decoration, but they are inferior to paint designs in terms of quality and durability.

The wheels will be given an original style by the wire wound around the spokes. When in motion, the wheels will look like colorful disks, and in the sunlight they will shimmer. To wrap the spokes, you don’t need to remove them; just turn the bike over and lock it in place. If desired, you can weave a “color” pattern.

And the final touch is the lighting design. For safety reasons, the bike is equipped with basic reflectors - moon white at the front and red at the rear. In conditions of constant driving in the dark, you will need similar lights: a white headlight in front and a flashing marker in the rear.

Orange reflective plates are installed on the wheels. To make it more impressive on night trips, you can install circles of reflectors or stick luminous strips on the wheel rims.

Reflective tapes for wheels

It looks truly beautiful when successfully woven. It can be positioned on the top main tube and run down the chainstay to the center of the rear wheel.

Preparing for the bike parade and holiday

A bicycle parade is a significant event in the life of cycling enthusiasts. It can be organized as an independent ride or dedicated to a holiday. Since mass travel involves a large number of participants, it is extremely important to distinguish yourself from the crowd.

You need to decorate your bike in accordance with the idea of the parade. On May 9, stars on the steering wheel, St. George ribbons or stickers with the Russian tricolor will be relevant. For the New Year, the bicycle is decorated with tinsel, colorful ones, automatic garlands and stickers in the form of fairy-tale characters.

For a themed parade (for example, the opening of the season), you can prepare decorative elements associated with a specific group of cyclists - symbols, flags, ribbons, etc. Free public rides do not limit cyclists' fantasies; here everyone will show themselves to the fullest.

It is worth remembering that a tuned bicycle must be in good working order and clean. You won’t go far on a decorated bike with a lame transmission, and the accumulated dirt and dust will negate the whole idea of beauty.

Bicycle tuning is actively developed in groups and among individual riding enthusiasts. Its task is to give the two-wheeled vehicle and its owner individuality and make trips more vibrant and exciting.

Craftswomen always want to decorate their home in some way. Embroidery, knitted items, various decorative details. We invite you to familiarize yourself with ways to make a bicycle with your own hands, which can serve as the highlight of your home.

From twine

We will need:

  • leg-split;
  • cardboard;
  • pencil;
  • cocktail straws;
  • a container for the future pot (from yogurt, for example);
  • glue “Titan” or “Moment”;
  • coffee beans;
  • scissors.

We cut out the bases for the wheels from cardboard using a compass or other round objects. It is necessary to make 6 such blanks, two for each wheel.

Having glued the pieces together in pairs, we wrap them with twine.

We make spokes for wheels from tubes. To do this, measure two centimeters from the fold in both directions. There are four of these parts for each wheel. We wrap them with twine and glue them together with Moment or Titan glue.

Now we place the spokes in the wheels and fasten them with glue.

We decorate the rear wheels with coffee beans, as shown in the photo below.

We take the next tube and cut off 2 centimeters from the fold in one direction and 3 cm in the other. We make another such part. We connect them to each other with the long sides. This will be our steering wheel. We also wrap it with twine.

Cut off a part of the tube without a bend, 11 centimeters long. Wrap it in twine. This blank will connect the rear wheels of the bicycle.

Now we cover the ends of it and the steering wheel with coffee beans, which we set on glue.

We take a new tube, fold it and stretch it. We make a cut on the side of the short part, put a drop of glue and insert it into the segment that remains from previous work.

We need two such blanks. We also wrap them with twine.

We insert these long blanks into the front wheel, as shown below, and decorate the wheel with coffee beans on both sides.

Between the ends that will be at the top, we lay a piece of tube 2 centimeters long, and close this place with twine.

We connect the rear wheels with a jumper.

Now we take the container that we have chosen for the future flowerpot and cover it with twine. We decorate the top edge with coffee beans.

Glue the steering wheel to the top bar and place the planter between the rear wheels.

You can leave the flower pots for all sorts of little things, but with flowers the bike will still look more harmonious.

Instead of a flowerpot, you can make a bicycle with a cradle and place flowers there.

From wire

We will need:

  • wire with a diameter of 2-3 mm;
  • white tape;
  • buttons of the same shade - 4 pieces;
  • glue, you can use Moment-Crystal or a heat gun.

We roll three identical circles from the wire, fold them together and wrap them with tape. It turns out to be a wheel. We need to make three wheels, one of which is large, and the other two are the same size.

Using the same principle, we make three curls in each wheel.

We make the frame and steering wheel in the same way.

Our bicycle will come with a basket, so we’ll assemble that too.

We attach the basket between the rear wheels. And now our bike is ready. If we place a composition with candy flowers in it, it will be a wonderful gift. You can see how to make such flowers in the video below.

From a three-core cable

Prepare the following materials and tools:

  • three-core cable, always soft - 1.5 meters;
  • wooden skewers;
  • small blocks of wood;
  • cotton wool;
  • brown and white paint;
  • coffee beans;
  • threads;
  • newspapers or office paper;
  • cardboard;
  • drill;
  • silicone hot glue;
  • screws;
  • small flowerpot made of plastic or ceramic;
  • satin ribbons and decor as desired.

We cut three sections from a three-core cable: one larger for the front wheel, two smaller for the rear. Pull out the blue wire from the middle. And using a piece from it and glue, we connect each piece of cable into a ring.

Using a drill, make a hole in a wooden block and wheel. Connect using a skewer.

Such holes must be made according to the number of spokes. The result is a design like this.

We connect two wheels. We bend the wooden block in the middle with another piece of cable and secure it with a screw.

We decorate the flowerpot and attach it to the frame of the front wheel with a screw.

We make a steering wheel from the blue middle wire.

All parts must be painted white, and the cable joints must be covered with satin ribbon.

We glue a piece of cable to both rear wheels.

We tie a bow made of ribbon 0.5 cm wide onto the steering wheel.

For the basket, cut out a circle from cardboard and place it between two wheels.

We cut out two more similar circles and attach newspaper tubes to one, these will be our stands. How to make them, see the video below.

Cover with the second circle and lift the racks up. Let's start weaving our basket. When it is ready, we attach it to the prepared platform. You can use glue or screw it on.

Now let's start making our topiary. We attach a ball of crumpled newspaper to the blue wire, folded in half. We cover the newspaper with cotton wool, then tie it with thread and paint it with brown paint.

Cover the ball with coffee beans. We install polystyrene foam or pour plaster into the basket and install our coffee tree. The trunk can be previously covered with tape or thread.

So that the inside of the basket is not visible, we fill it with artificial plants and twigs for decoration.

We also decorate the pot on the steering wheel as desired.

These beautiful compositions can become a decoration for your home or part of a gift. Such bicycles can be decorated in any way you like, for example, in Provence, steampunk style, decorated with beads, rhinestones, ribbons, etc.

“BICYCLE POSHPOTS FOR A BOUQUET OF CANDY” by Valentina Pogorelova

MASTER CLASS “BICYCLE POSH POTS FOR A BOUQUET OF CANDY”

Pogorelova Valentina.

Look what beauty Valentina made! The master class is very detailed, we will learn!

.

Bike dimensions:
- height 18 cm
- length (from rear wheels to front wheel) 33 cm
- width (between rear wheels) 18 cm

To make a bicycle we will need:
- wire 2-3 mm
- white tape
- 4 white buttons
- “Moment” glue (or heat gun)

For this bike I used 1mm floral wire, 40cm long.

If possible, it is better to take 2-3 mm wire in coils.
I had to wind two or three wires together to achieve the desired thickness.

1. We start by making the front large wheel.
To do this, bend the wire in a circle.
(It’s better to do this on some kind of base in the form of a jar, so that the circle turns out smoother)
From a wire 40 cm long (this is the maximum length in my case) a wheel with a diameter of about 14 cm is obtained.

2. Wrap the circle with tape

3. Let's start making the two rear wheels.
To do this, we take a wire 25 cm long. The wheels are about 8 cm in diameter.
We do everything the same as for the front wheel.
(To make these circles even, I used a cream jar for the base)
As a result, we have 3 parts.

4. We make “spokes” for the wheels. True, we will have them in the form of curls.
For a large wheel you need 6 pieces of wire 14 cm long, for two small wheels - 6 pieces of 10 cm each.
We wrap these pieces with tape. And we bend

5. Let's start making the bicycle frame. It turns out to be “double”.
For frames we take 2 pieces of wire 40 cm each (for the frames themselves) and 2 pieces of wire 20 cm each (for curls on the frames)

6. We wrap these pieces with tape and bend the small parts in the same way as for the wheels.
We attach the curl to the 40-centimeter base, retreating 10 centimeters from the edge of the base.

7. The edge of the frame, from which we retreated 10 cm, is also twisted and we get such blanks for the frames.

8. Back to the wheels.
We make an axle for the rear wheels from wire 13 cm long. We wrap it with tape.

9.Prepare white buttons that will hide the mounting points for the wheels and axles from the outside.
To do this, we “comb” the legs of the buttons, making them as flat as possible.
(If possible, you can find white furniture “plugs” that cover fastenings on furniture)

10. We do a “fitting” and attach the curlicue spokes to the wheels

8.

11.We make a steering wheel from 40 cm wire

12. Connect the rear wheels to each other with an axle.
This is the most difficult moment in the whole process.
(I did this using “Moment” glue. To do this, I had to hold the parts for a long time while the glue “set.”
The glue from the heat gun just came off the parts when I touched it)

13. Then we attach the steering wheel to the front wheel.
To do this, we bend the wheel and secure the joint with glue.
Then we will “close” this place with buttons.

14. When the wheels are well dry, we begin attaching the frames and steering wheel to each other.

15. Slightly bend the frames and bend the free end of the frames so that they (the frames) can be put on the axle of the rear wheels.
Let's do a fitting

16. Carefully connect the frame to the axle with tape

17. We finish the bike itself by making “handles” on the steering wheel.
To do this, wrap them with tape.

18. Let's start with the bicycle basket.
For the basket we will need two circles.
The bottom of the basket is about 8 cm in diameter. For this you need a wire 25 cm long.
The top of the basket is about 14 cm in diameter. For this you need a wire 40 cm long.
We do the same as with the wheels.

19. We make “twigs” for the basket by wrapping 4 pieces of wire 40 cm each with tape.
We twist them with tape in the middle together like this

20. We attach a circle of smaller diameter to the finished “spider” with tape.
First, it is better to do a “fitting” and mark with a pencil the places where the rods are attached to the circle.

21. Carefully bend the twigs, lifting them up.

22. Having done the “fitting”, we attach a circle of larger diameter to the twigs with heat tape.

24. To prevent the basket from looking “naked,” I suggest making curlicue decorations and attaching them between the twigs of the basket.
The length of the wire for such curls is 8 cm. In our case, such curls are needed 8 pieces.

23. At the top we bend the twigs in the form of curls.

.

25. Our basket-planter for a bicycle is ready

26. Attach the basket to the frames and axle of the bicycle using tape.

27. All that remains is to make a bouquet and “plant” it in a basket.
My bouquet is held on polystyrene foam and can be pulled out of the basket.
Thus, if the bouquet is eaten, the flowerpot-bicycle will serve as new bouquets

Traveling with a bicycle is developing every day. The promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the desire to play sports and the availability of this universal means for sports activities and walks in the fresh air have done their job. The bicycle fleet of the residents of our country is replenished with enviable consistency. The choice of model and brand of bicycle is based on price preferences and desires to take advantage of certain capabilities of this technical device. But now this is not always enough. Like many vehicle owners, cyclists want to tune their two-wheeled favorites.

If you have personal creativity for this, then we will appreciate the various possibilities and forms of decorating a bicycle.
Perhaps the most popular way to steal a bike is to use LED lights. A real chic ride through the city at night, shining like an attraction. Not only teenagers, but also all bright personalities like this.

LED lighting is suitable for mounting on different parts of a bicycle; you can decorate the frame or handlebars with it, but the most impressive decoration will be the wheels of a vehicle.

In the minimum configuration, the backlight is installed in the form of luminous nipple caps; when the wheel rotates, the light trail merges into a flickering circle.

The decoration of the spokes becomes an even more colorful design of the wheel. The LED strip is programmable and when driving at high speed, the mini-bulbs display a light inscription, which should consist of no more than 64 characters.

The power supply for the LED strip is provided by batteries or accumulators, which are recharged by the movement of the bicycle. In addition to the bright aesthetic component, decoration with LEDs also has a practical purpose; in the dark, the cyclist will undoubtedly be visible.

If you don’t need such creativity, then the bike can also be decorated by changing the factory appearance. To do this, the old coating is removed, the metal surface is primed, and then the bike is given a new look using paint. Although the surface to be painted is small, you can come up with a drawing for it, make a sketch, and choose a color scheme.

The pattern can be made in the form of a starry sky, rainbow, cherry blossoms, leopard spotting or tiger stripes, Peruvian ornaments or denim texture.

If you can, do it yourself. And if you order this coloring in a salon, you will get real airbrushing, only in a bicycle version.
It’s faster and cheaper to get a designer bike by using reflective stickers or colored adhesive film.

If you thoroughly clean and degrease the surface, carefully glue it, without bubbles or re-gluing, then the stickers will last a sufficient amount of time, and the reflectors will serve for safety purposes in the evening.

If you don’t want to paint or glue anything, there is another way to make your bike individual. A certain set of accessories is offered for the two-wheeled friend. A bicycle bell, a luggage basket, bicycle bags (for handlebars, saddle bags, luggage bags), a bicycle bottle with water, the saddle itself, handlebar grips - all this, if desired, can be selected to suit your color, taste and needs.

You can now decorate your bicycle wheels with special bright clips with a latch. These clips are made in the form of geometric figures, stars, smiley faces, butterflies and are securely attached to the knitting needles.
