- several rolls of paper (it is better to choose matching colors and green for leaves and stems);
- wire, floral sleeve, or any other stalk attachment;
- cardboard for blanks;
- glue;
- sharp scissors;
- breadboard knife;
- threads and fishing line.
It is most convenient to work at a desk in good lighting. If you plan to make large flowers (more than 15 centimeters in diameter), then you can sit on the floor (of course, after sending your children, husbands, cats and your favorite dog for a walk).

- first you need to make a petal template;
- cut out 15-20 petals for each flower (if you want to make a realistic flower, then make petals of different sizes - for example, five small, five medium, five large);
- cut out the petals (when cutting, observe the direction of the corrugation);
- collect the central part of the bud (5-7 petals are twisted together, tying in the lower part and gluing);
- further, the petals need to be slightly stretched and bent so that they take the most natural shape for the plant;
- glue the prepared petals to the bud;
- fix the flower head on the prepared stem.
How to make a stem:
- we take a piece of wire, a floral sleeve, an ordinary twig - at our discretion, we measure the required length;
- cut off;
- we decorate with green corrugation, or fabric, or paper;
- imitate leaves, shoots and thorns;
- cut on both sides again.
Making realistic roses
After we have made the blank, we need to stretch the petals - this will give the required volume and we can simulate the natural bend of a rose petal:

The outer petals need to be not only stretched, but also slightly smoothed out the corrugation - this will give the effect of a wavy edge, and the flower will look lush.

Realistic peonies
A peony is a large flower in itself, so it is better not to try to make small flowers, but to collect some really large and beautiful peonies. To make a large flower from corrugated paper, you need about twenty minutes.

Master class number 1 - Corrugated paper flowers (basic instruction)
DIY crepe paper flowers can look surprisingly believable. Although at some stages of their manufacture you will have to tinker a little, even a beginner can cope with the craft from the very first time.

To work you will need:
- Corrugated paper of the desired shade (for buds);
- Green corrugated paper (for stems, leaves, sepals) and / or corrugated paper tape;
- Floral wire (wire wrapped in green, sold in art stores, on Aliexpress) or wooden skewer / wire / newspaper tube / knitting needle;
- Scissors;
- Glue (hot glue gun is best);
- Pencil.
Master Class
Although almost any flower can be made from crepe paper - from roses to tulips - the principle of their production is approximately the same. The main difficulty is to make the correct petals: give them the desired shape, volume, size, choose the color of the paper, guess with the quantity.
- Following our master class, you will master the basic skills of making flowers from corrugated paper and will be able to make roses, peonies, tulips, lilies, daisies, chrysanthemums and dahlias.
Step 1. So, first we need to make the stem. If you are using flower wire, then just cut it to the desired length: a stem about 30 cm long is suitable for making a bouquet, and 15 cm is enough for, say, a boutonniere.
- If you don't have a special wire, it doesn't matter. A great stem can be made from a wooden skewer, any flexible wire or newspaper rolled into a thin tube using a knitting needle / skewer. At the last stage, you need to wrap your improvised stem in green corrugated paper (we'll talk about this below).
Step 2. Since the pistils and stamens of all flowers are different, and sometimes they are not at all, there are many techniques for making "cores" of artificial flowers.
- To make a chamomile or daisy, you need a yellow button-shaped bud core. Stick a ball of cotton wool on the stem, then wrap it in a couple of yellow squares cut out of corrugated paper, wrap the base of the button with green corrugated tape and finally fix the tape with glue.
- To make a core for a rose, you need to cut a 9x9 cm square from colored corrugated paper, fold it into a triangle, then connect the two corners of the triangle to its apex. Next, wrap the resulting torch-shaped blank to the top of the stem with a green corrugated tape and fix it with glue.

- Do you want to present a bouquet of flowers as a sweet gift (see photo below)? Use candy as the core! To do this, simply place it on the top of the stem and secure with tape / paper tape.
Step 3. Let's start making petals and forming a bud. This stage is the most important, so it should be given more attention. Depending on what kind of flower you want to make, choose one of two working methods.
Single petal method (suitable for roses, peonies, lilies and other flowers with few petals)
As the name suggests, the method consists of shaping the bud one by one, petal by petal.
- The first step is to draw and cut a template of the desired shape and size (see templates below).
- Then the corrugated paper is folded several times, a template is applied to it, the outline of the template is outlined with a pencil, and then cut out with scissors. As a result, you will get several blanks at once. Repeat the procedure several times to obtain the desired number of petals.
These templates will help you navigate the size, shape and number of petals. Keep in mind that the length of rose, peony and tulip petals should be approximately 9-11 cm, and lilies should be 13.5-15.5 cm
- Further, all the petals need to be given volume and bend: stretch a little and bend inward / outward, if necessary, wrap the tips with a toothpick / skewer (for example, for a rose). To understand what kind of shape you need to give the petals, just look at the photo of a real flower and experiment a little.
Corrugated paper is easy to stretch, curl and take the desired shape
To make a peony, you need to make 35 petals and a stem with a button. How to make petals: guided by the photo, cut out the petals of the desired shape, then stretch them slightly and bend them inward, gather the base of the petals a little. You need to glue the central petals lower, and the rest - higher. When the flower is ready, slightly tuck the tips of the petals inward
To make a rose, use 5 small and 7 large petals (see template above). Round the petals just below the middle, and roll the top edges outward with a skewer / toothpick. Attach the small petals to the core first and then the larger ones.
To make a lily, use 5 petals (see template above) and a pistil with stamens from red and white corrugated paper. Fold the petals in half lengthwise to form folds, then unfold them. Bend the petals by turning them out at their widest point
Corrugated paper tulips are the easiest to make. Only six petals are required, they need to be rounded a little, and the ends are pleated
- When all the petals are ready, start gluing them one by one to the stem, and then on top of each other, adhering to a checkerboard pattern. A hot glue gun works best for this purpose. If there are not too many petals, then the same green corrugated paper tape can be used instead of glue (see photo).
Tape method (suitable for daisies, daisies, carnations and other "layered" flowers)
The difference between this technique is that the petals are not cut separately, but from a strip of corrugated paper, when the workpiece looks like a fringe. In this case, the petals acquire volume and bend (sometimes several layers at the same time) only after the fringe is attached to the stem.
- Cut a strip of the desired length and width from the corrugated paper, then fold it in several layers and cut the petals into the desired shape (see the template below).
- Wrap the resulting fringe tightly around the pistil and secure it with green corrugated tape, tape, or glue. If there are too many layers, then so that the bud does not slip out of your hands, the fringe should be cut into several parts.
The central petals of the chrysanthemum need to be wrapped around the pistil quite tightly, the rest - freer and slightly higher
The carnation is made from three stripes (see template). The first strip just needs to be tightly assembled into a bundle and fixed with tape / tape. The second and third strip should be wrapped around it, holding and aligning the bottom of the bud. Next, the bud is fixed with corrugated tape or glue. At the end, pull the petals outward to give the carnation a rounded shape.
To make a dahlia, start winding the blank just below the pistil, but then wind the petals, rising higher and higher. Give the petals a rounded shape, twist the tips inward a little and finally pinch the tip of each petal to form a fold
- Bend the petals, if necessary.
- Now that the flower is almost ready, it needs to be supplemented with sepals and leaves on the stem. To do this, you need to cut out blanks of leaves in the appropriate quantity, shape and size (focus on photos or templates) and just stick in the right places.
- Sepals are glued under the bud, then bend and volume are given to them.
- To make leaves for certain types of flowers, such as tulips or lilies, simply cut out blanks and glue them to the stem. However, some flowers have leaves with cuttings and they need to be done in a slightly different way. Cut out the leaves (with a little space for fastening), then glue them to a small piece of wire, wrap the wire in green paper, then glue the stalk to the stem. If desired, paper leaves can be replaced with artificial ones.
- Hooray, your crepe paper flower is almost done! It remains only to wrap the entire stem with a strip / tape of green corrugation, starting with the sepals and simultaneously wrapping the place where the leaves are attached. At the beginning and at the end of the stem, the winding must be fixed with glue.

Master class number 2 - Large rose made of corrugated paper
Large handmade flowers are good for decorating a photo zone, ceilings and walls for holidays (for example, at a wedding or birthday). They can also become a spectacular props for a photo shoot.
To work you will need:
- A roll of corrugated paper of the desired color 50 × 200 cm (1 roll / 1 flower);
- A roll of green corrugated paper (for the stem and sepals);
- A4 paper (office paper can be used);
- Hot glue gun;
- Scissors.
How to make large paper flowers:
Step 1. First, let's make the stem. Take a sheet of A4 white paper, put a pencil on the corner, then roll the paper into a tube.
Step 2. Fully unfold the roll of crepe paper. First fold it in half, then double it again, then again ... make a rectangle? Now fold it in half to make a square about 25x25cm.
Step 3. Use scissors to cut the folded paper at all folds. You will end up with two identical stacks of square sheets, from which we will further cut out the petals.
Step. 4. Fold each stack in half. From the first pile folded into a rectangle, cut out a shape that looks like a half heart, as shown in the diagram below. From the second stack, cut out the same shape, but smaller.
Expand the stacks to make these petals.
Step 5. Twist the tips of the petal with a pencil or pen, and stretch the petal itself a little and bend inward.
Step 6. Give the petal an even more rounded shape by making two folds in its lower part and fixing them with hot glue.
Step 7. Let's start forming the bud. Roll one of the small petals around the stem tightly enough.
Step 8. Begin glueing the rest of the small petals in a checkerboard pattern. When you run out of small petals, continue to grow the bud with larger petals. In total, your rose will "grow" with 15 petals (+1 petal in the center of the bud).
Step 9. Fold a square sheet of green corrugated paper (25 × 25 cm) diagonally to form a triangle, then fold the triangle 2 more times in half. From the resulting multi-layered triangle, starting at the fold line (!), Cut out the shape as in the picture below. When you flatten the cut out blank, you will have a four-leafed leaf.
Step 10. Make a small cross-shaped incision in the center of the quatrefoil (see the picture above), through the resulting hole, put it on the stem to the bud, then glue the leaves with hot glue.
Step 11. Hooray, our big rose is almost ready. It remains only to wrap the stem in green paper. To do this, you need to roll it into a roll, then cut off an approximately 2-centimeter piece from it from the edge (that is, just as if you cut off a piece from the roll). Now dissolve the resulting tape and wrap the stem with it, fixing the upper and lower ends with glue.

Master class number 3 - Colored paper hyacinths (suitable for children's creativity)
These hyacinths look like they were made by a quilling expert. In fact, even a child can make such flowers out of paper with his own hands! Making the first hyacinth will take some time, but you will spend no more than 5 minutes for each next flower.
To make such a bouquet of flowers with your own hands, you need a little more than half an hour.
To make paper flowers you will need:
- Colored paper or not too thick cardboard (for buds);
- Green paper (for stems);
- Scissors;
- Ruler;
- Pencil;
- Glue stick;
- Knitting needle or wooden skewer.
Master Class
Step 1. Cut a strip of approximately 21 x 2.5 cm. If you are using A4 colored paper / cardboard, then you just need to cut the sheet across.
Step 2. Departing from the top edge 1 cm, draw a line with a pencil along the strip using a ruler. Next, using scissors, cut your workpiece into strips about 5-7 mm wide, without reaching the previously drawn line. You will end up with something like a fringed ribbon. Try to cut the paper into even and parallel strips, but do not worry about mistakes, because they will not be noticeable when rolled up.
Step 3. Using a knitting needle or wooden skewer, carefully roll each strip into a roll until it stops. Make sure the pencil line is on the back of the paper.
Step 4. Now we will deal with the stem. From green paper (cardboard will not work!) Cut a strip of 21 × 2.5 cm.
- By the way, if you want to save time, just use green straws as stems.
Step 5. Twist one of the corners of your strip diagonally, then lightly go over the entire strip with glue stick (see photo) and finally roll the entire strip into a thin tube.
When you're done, it should look something like this:
Step 6. Now is the time to roll up the bud and glue it to the stem. To do this, again take the blank of the bud (strip with curls) and grease its base with glue from the wrong side.
Unfolded, your blank should have 3-4 leaves and look something like the photo.
Step 8. Grease the bottom of the leaves with glue and place its corner about 5 cm below the bud and at an angle, as shown in the photo below. Next, wrap the piece tightly around the stem.
Well, that's all, the hyacinth is ready! Repeat the process using different shades of paper to make a bouquet of paper flowers.
DIY paper flower bouquet
Master class number 4 - Roses made of paper (express method)
This master class will come in handy when you need to make flowers with your own hands super-quickly, easily, on a budget and in large quantities.
To work you will need:
- Any pretty paper (even book pages will do);
- Green paper for leaves;
- Glue (thermal glue is best);
- Scissors;
- Pencil.
- Wooden skewers (needed if you want to make a bouquet).
How to make paper roses:
Step 1. Cut out a square piece of paper approximately 12 x 12 cm.
Step 2. Draw a circle on your square, and then draw a spiral inside it. It does not have to be flawless for the roses to be textured. If you wish, you can even make it wavy, then the rose will have pronounced petals.
Step 3. Cut your circle, then cut the workpiece along the spiral line. As a result, you will get something like a spring.
Step 4. Take the outer end of your "spring", roll it into a roll (loosely), then start twisting the entire tape around it. Hold the flower underneath to keep the paper from unraveling.
Step 5. When you get to the base (inside of the piece), glue the bud to it with enough glue. Voila, the first flower is ready!
Step 6. If desired, the rose can be supplemented with leaves. They are cut in any shape and glued.
Step 7. If you want to make a bouquet, then glue the buds on skewers or newspaper / paper tubes. It is desirable to wrap the stems in green paper tape.

- We form the last petals, like all the previous ones, while their edges must be screwed onto a skewer.
- Distribute six petals evenly. All our fluffy bud is ready. At the end, we fix the thread with glue.
- If you wish, you can add delicate corrugated roses with green leaves made of paper.
Giant poppies
Flowers made of corrugated paper with your own hands are perfect for the decor of any holiday. So, take a whole roll of paper. We cut it into 6 parts. And then:
- We put the parts one on top of the other, fold them with an accordion 10 cm wide.
- We fix the bottom with threads or a stapler.
- On the top of the entire accordion we make rounded cuts.
- We unfold all the petals in a circle and, separating the layers from each other, add volume to the flower.
- Next, we take any scraps and wrap them in black paper so that you end up with a ball.
- We wrap the base with tape - this is the middle of our poppy.
- We take a thick wire or a wooden lath as a stem, wrap them in green paper and make leaves, if desired.
- We will take large vases or special platforms as a support for flowers.
On cardboard we draw a sketch of the template with a pencil: a wavy round shape resembling a cloud. Further actions:
- Cut out the pattern along the contour.
- We apply a template to the corrugated paper, carefully outline its outline with a pencil.
- Cut out the resulting workpiece. We need at least 10 blanks for a flower.
- We put all the blanks on top of each other.
- We make two holes in the center. Next, we draw a wire through one hole, bend its end and pass it through the next puncture.
- Fix the tip of the wire, you end up with a blank for the stem.
- Next, take the topmost workpiece and bend it towards the center. We do the same action with other blanks.
- The result is a lush peony bud.
- Then we start decorating the stem. To do this, take a green strip of crepe paper. We carefully wrap it around the wire.
- We attach the tip of the strip of stamps.
- Cut out a few green leaves. They can be made in any form.
- Apply glue to the bottom edge of the stem and attach the leaf. We fix other leaves.
Simple and small
Simple small flowers made of corrugated paper with your own hands are often used in the design of beauty salons. Such flowers are loved by brides, so they can be seen in different wedding bouquets. The living space can also be decorated with artificial original paper flowers. The easiest solution is to use them as a substitute for natural plants in pots and vases.
Tulip
- Cut out a rectangle 32 cm long and 3 cm wide from corrugated red paper.
- We fold the resulting segment in half, then again and do this until the width becomes 4 cm.
- You should get a paper fan, thanks to which the petals of the same shape will come out.
- Cut out the petals from the folded accordion - 8 pieces.
- We take the narrow edge of the petal and turn it several times. It will be more convenient to collect them in a bud.
- Bend the wide edge of the petal, gently stretch the paper.
- We put together all the tulip petals to form a bud.
- We attach the tip of the bud on a wire wrapped in a strip of corrugated green paper.
- Cut out the leaves for the tulip at random and bend them in half.
- If desired, it is easy to make the middle of the flower with sweets, for example, with rafaello.
Irises
- Cut out stencils. It should be one small pointed petal; one in the form of a drop and a large rounded.
- Cut out 3 petals of each shape from purple, blue or blue paper, gently stretch their edges.
- To prevent the petals from losing their shape, we glue a thin wire to each of them, while leaving the tails at the base.
- Apply glue to the center of the large three petals and pour a fluff of finely chopped yellow thread on top.
- We collect the flower: first we connect the small petals to each other, add the middle ones between them, and fasten the large ones below.
- Wrap the rod with green paper and connect it to the iris flower.
Bouquets and baskets

A basket of tulips is done like this:
- We take any corrugated paper and cut it into strips 15 x 2.5 cm.For leaves 3 x 10 cm.
- We bend the strips in half and turn them over so that the front side looks in one direction.

- Each flower has six petals.
- We collect all the petals around the skewer. First one petal, then the second.
- We move 90 degrees and apply again one opposite the other.
- We straighten the leaves of the resulting flower, twist the base tightly with wire.
- Cut out oblong leaves. We fasten them, stretch and straighten them.
- Wrap the base of the flower with colored tape.
- We take a basket with a filler (you can choose a special filler) and fill it with flowers in a circle. We put a package of truffles in the basket, you can even put a sweet cake or a decorative tree.
But a bouquet of roses is a little more complicated, to create a bouquet you need to take threads; red and white corrugated paper; beads, feathers, rhinestones, etc. So, we make roses from corrugated paper:
- Cut off a flat rectangle 15 by 40 cm.
- Bend the edge of the long side of the line so that you get a wave.
- We fold the flower and fix the end with a thread.
- We make such roses 9, 12 - of your choice.
- We glue the buds to the skewers or to the wire wrapped in green paper.
- We make a bouquet.
- If you wish, you can add pearls, dolls, beads or feathers to your handmade composition.

So, look what we got.
It all starts with preparation.
To make a pompom, we need:
- a roll of corrugated paper, it is also called crepe;
- scissors;
- pencil;
- ruler.
Standard size paper. Its width is 50 cm, and its length is 2.5 meters.
We take a roll and use a ruler to determine where its middle is. Draw a line in this place with a pencil.
Without unwinding the roll, we cut it into two equal parts with scissors. There was one long roll, and now there are two short ones.
Then the rolls still need to be expanded and cut into identical rectangles. You can make rectangles 25cm X 50cm in size, then 5 rectangles will come out of each roll. We did 25 X 40, and we got 6 each.
The larger the rectangles, the more voluminous the pompom will turn out.
Then the rectangles need to be folded in a neat pile, on top of each other.
Since our paper always tried to curl back into tubes, we pressed it with scissors on one side and a ruler on the other to take a photo. And, if you noticed, a ball of thread appeared in the photo! It was necessary to say about him at the very beginning, during the preparation process. But we remembered that it is needed only now and we immediately declare this. Instead of threads, you can take a beautiful ribbon. But we didn't have it and we got along with threads.
Then we turn the stack of sheets of one of the short sides towards us and begin to fold the sheets into an accordion.
You should end up with something like this.
Using a ruler, we determine where our corrugated accordion has a middle and make a mark with a pencil.
We take the thread and tightly tie our accordion in the middle. One end of the thread should remain long.
Now let's start styling the tips of our pompom. We will trim them a little, round them off so that the pompom looks like a flower. The photo shows the path along which we will cut.
First, cut off one corner.
Then another. Well, we figured out one tip. We do the same with others.
First, we expand one side in the form of a fan.
Very carefully, so as not to tear, grab the first layer of paper and lift it up.
Then the second.
And then the third, fourth, fifth and sixth too. It's already beautiful!
We turn our "fan" over to the other side and fluff up the remaining six layers of paper. Only at the same time we try not to wrinkle those that have already been issued.
It turns out like this. Very similar to a bridal bouquet. If you make a half-pom-pom of white paper, and draw a green handle, it will be one to one. But now we have another task, we do not make a white bouquet, but a pink pompom. Therefore, by the same principle, we fluff up the other end of our accordion.

And we get such beauty! We touched it up a little with our hands so that the pompom took the shape of a ball. Then we decided to experiment and make another smaller pompom from the remains of yellow corrugated paper, which Tema found in a closet with all sorts of creative things. We call it that - a creative locker. We have paints there, plasticine, glue and colored paper too. In principle, it worked out.
And now we know that making a small pompom is possible, but it is much more difficult than a large one. And in this small yellow ball, we got not 12 layers of paper, as in the big one, but only 8, this is the end of the paper.
We hung these two pompons on a chandelier in the children's room. And immediately it became somehow more fun! Well, soon our family will have holidays. First it’s my birthday, then our beloved grandmother’s. And now we know exactly how to decorate the premises so that it is elegant and beautiful.
But if we still had a lot of such paper, then we would try to make the same beautiful flower as in the video below. Very beautiful! And the manufacturing principle is similar to pompons.
