Sergei Bodrov Jr. is a Russian actor, screenwriter and director who played the main role in Alexei Balabanov's cult film "Brother" and its sequel, as well as the films "Prisoner of the Caucasus", "War", "Stringer".

In 2001, he presented his directorial debut - the drama "Sisters". He died on the set of his second film "The Messenger" due to a collapse in the Karmadon Gorge.

Childhood and family

Sergei Bodrov Jr. was born on December 27, 1971 in the family of the famous director Sergei Vladimirovich Bodrov and art teacher Valentina Nikolaevna Bodrova. When he was 13, his parents divorced. The elder Bodrov subsequently married Aizhan Bekkulova, an artist and gallery owner from Kazakhstan, and Sergei had a half-sister, Asya.

At a young age, Sergei loved loneliness and "managed well by himself." And he didn’t dream of a movie at all, but dreamed of being a scavenger and driving around the city in an orange car.

Sergei Bodrov Jr. received a certificate at Moscow school No. 1265 with in-depth study of the French language. Teachers recalled that he "was moderately rambunctious and mobile, and never messed up."

Already at school, Sergei was attracted to work. His class went to the Udarnitsa factory every week and packed sweets. Schoolchildren packed sweets into boxes and bandaged them themselves. The money earned, however, was received by the school, which spent it on excursions for students.

After school, Bodrov wanted to enter VGIK. However, his father explained to him that there should be a passion for cinema, and if it does not come, then it should be completely forgotten. Sergei did not feel passion, and therefore entered the history department of Moscow State University. He specialized in the history of art, and more specifically, in the painting of the Venetian Renaissance. It was at the university, according to the actor, that he was taught to see beauty in the ordinary.

On the course, Sergei Bodrov was considered lucky: in 1991 he was lucky enough to go to study in Italy. On a "study trip," he managed to get a job as a beach lifeguard and save money to travel around the country. The next three summers, he again came there and worked as a lifeguard.

The teachers recalled that studying was easy for Bodrov - it was clear that he received an excellent secondary education. He was especially good at foreign languages. He was loved by both teachers and classmates.

In 1994, Sergei received a red diploma and entered graduate school. By that time, he was sure that he would work either in a library or in a museum. Subsequently, already being an actor, he defended his thesis on "Architecture in Venetian Renaissance Painting".

Actor career

The debut of Sergei Bodrov in the cinema took place in 1989 with a cameo role in his father's film "Freedom is Paradise" (SER). He reincarnated as a juvenile delinquent who sits in prison next to the captured main character. During his student days, Bodrov played the postman in another tape of his father - "White King, Red Queen."

The first role of Sergei Bodrov (SIR). An excerpt from the film

In 1995, Sergei Bodrov Sr. worked in Dagestan on the painting “Prisoner of the Caucasus”. - a modern interpretation of the story of the same name by Leo Tolstoy. The son asked to go with him, promising to help in the hardest work. Unexpectedly for himself, he became the main character of the picture, private Ivan Zhilin, partner of the character Oleg Menshikov.

The film was awarded the FIPRESCI film critics and film experts prize at the Cannes Film Festival, and also received the Grand Prix at the Sochi Film Festival and the Crystal Globe, the Karlovy Vary Ecumenical Jury Prize and many other awards. Bodrov Jr. received a prize for the best acting debut at the Baltic Pearl Film Festival and became a laureate of the State Prize for his contribution to the field of literature and art.

Despite the success of the picture, Bodrov himself did not consider himself an artist: “Artists are other people, a different constitution. A role for me is not a profession. It's an act you're doing."

At the Sochi Film Festival, Bodrov Jr. met Alexei Balabanov. The director was impressed by the role of Bodrov in The Prisoner of the Caucasus, and he invited the actor to work together on the film. This was the beginning of not only a fruitful creative union, but also a strong friendship.

There was little money for shooting - the creators managed to meet one hundred thousand dollars. For example, Danila's famous stretched sweater was bought in St. Petersburg second-hand for 35 rubles. Actors worked practically for free, almost for food.

As the actress Svetlana Pismichenko recalled, Balabanova was attracted primarily by Bodrov's charisma, which was completely incompatible with the image of a noble and just killer.

Seryozha did not fit the role of a cruel person, he wanted to be loved. And in life he was generally soft, kind and somehow "out of this world." He was clumsy and a little stiff

Probably, it was this discrepancy that made the audience imbued with the picture. "Brother" with a soulful soundtrack from Vyacheslav Butusov was called the "chronicle of the 90s", "the manifesto of the latest cinema", Danila Bagrov - the hero of a new generation. Although the creators were not without accusations of Russophobia and racism, the film received the main prize of Kinotavr (while Bodrov was awarded the Best Actor Award) and was nominated for Nika as the best film of the year.

"Brother": 10 years later. movie about movie

Soon after "Brother" Bodrov got the main role in the action movie "Stringer" - his hero, the wedding cameraman Vadik, recorded the explosion of a trolleybus on video and decided to retrain as reporters. The plot was based on the biography of Vladimir Zhirinovsky's assistant Alexei Ostrovsky.

The next work of the actor was the role in the multinational film "East-West" by the French director Régis Varnier. Sergei embodied on the screen the image of the boy Sasha, who dreams of becoming an Olympic champion and, in order to attract attention, swims several kilometers in the open sea. The film was nominated for an Oscar.

In 2000, viewers saw the continuation of Danila Bagrov's dilogy - "Brother-2". Bodrov was inspired to shoot the sequel by a letter from a woman whose youngest son fought in Chechnya, and the unemployed elder was sick and drank a lot. She told the actor how her son was beaten, robbed and his motorcycle was stolen, and she doesn’t know what to do now: “You dealt with these bandits so well in the cinema, my son and I watched the tape together, and now he will return, I even I don't know whether to tell him or not." Then Bodrov realized that "Brother" for the audience is not just a movie, this story means a lot to them.

This time, the shooting was completely different. Despite the fact that many sponsors backed out just before the start of work, the budget was enough to shoot in Chicago, New York and Pittsburgh.

"Brother 2". scene in jail

In 2000, Sergei Bodrov played a negative character - a security guard for a wealthy American of Russian origin (Vladimir Mashkov) in the drama Let's Do It Quickly, directed by Bodrov Sr.

At the beginning of 2001, the shooting of a new film by Alexei Balabanov began - a drama about the Second Chechen campaign "War". The main role in the film was played by a young Alexei Chadov, while Bodrov appeared before the audience as a paralyzed captain Medvedev, captured by the Chechens. The film was the winner of the "Golden Rose" of the Kinotavr, and Bodrov replenished the collection of awards with the "Nika" award for "best male supporting role."

In 2002, the touching drama "Bear Kiss" premiered. The last role of Sergei Bodrov is the bear Misha, who was raised by the circus performer Lola. Misha gained the ability to turn into a man, and in order to remain a man forever, he needs not to kill anyone for a year.

The film was released after the death of Bodrov.

Director and screenwriter

While working on Quickie, Sergei began work on the script for his first film, Sisters. It was written in two weeks, shooting began four days later. Initially, the picture was proposed to be called differently: “The Daughter of a Bandit”, “Belly Dancer” or “Junior”. The plot tells about two minor blood sisters (Oksana Akinshina and Ekaterina Gorina), who hate each other. When their father returns from prison, the hunt begins for the girls. The picture received the prize of the Moscow International Film Festival as the best directorial debut in 2001.

Balabanov's painting "Morphine" was created according to the script by Bodrov, who himself adapted Mikhail Bulgakov's "Notes of a Young Doctor" for filming. Subsequently, the director slightly changed the structure of the film and its ending, but in memory of Bodrov, who did a tremendous job, he did not write off his name in the credits. The main role was also supposed to go to Bodrov. After his tragic death, Leonid Bichevin took his place.

A television

In October 1996, Sergei Bodrov Jr. appeared on the ORT channel (now Channel One) as co-host Alexander Lyubimov in the Vzglyad program. Here he worked until 1999 and left with a "feeling of a good school". The official reason was the start of filming "Brother-2", but the actor's relatives claimed that he simply could not stand the emotional intensity and the "animal" atmosphere that prevailed on television.

Release of Vzglyad with Bodrov and Lyubimov (1997)

Bodrov was also co-host of Leonid Parfyonov in three episodes of the program "The Other Day".

At the end of 2001, Sergei Bodrov began to host the reality show "The Last Hero". Sixteen heroes of the program lived in the wild on an island off the coast of Panama, passed various tests, and the most enduring one eventually received a prize of three million rubles. Sergei Bodrov admitted that he was most interested in the topic of hunger and whether the participants could maintain humanity in inhuman conditions.

Personal life of Sergei Bodrov

In 1997, Sergei Bodrov married his colleague, the author of the TV projects "Shark Pera" and "Canon" Svetlana Mikhailova.

A year later, they had a daughter, Olga, and in 2002, three weeks before Bodrov's death, their son Alexander was born.

The film crew flew to the Caucasus in September. After shooting scenes in a women's colony near Vladikavkaz, Bodrov and colleagues went to the Karmadon Gorge, where it was planned to shoot the scene of the meeting of the main characters. After a day of shooting interrupted earlier than expected due to low light conditions.

The group was going back to the camp when a block of ice fell off Mount Jimara and fell on the Kolka glacier. He moved to the gorge at a speed of 180 kilometers per hour and covered its gorge with a 300-meter layer of ice and stones, burying Sergei Bodrov and the entire film crew alive.

Large-scale rescue work was carried out until February 2004 - volunteers and relatives of the victims hoped to find at least the bodies. As a result of the efforts of rescuers, the bodies of 17 dead were rescued from the snow captivity. More than a hundred people are still buried under the ice, which scientists say will take about 12 years to melt. All of them, including Sergei Bodrov, were declared missing.

Memory

A year after the death of Bodrov, the Eksmo publishing house published a book of memoirs about the actor. In 2007, Sergei's mother published his dissertation on Venetian Renaissance painting as a separate book. And in 2007, the Amfora publishing house published the script for The Messenger, accompanied by excerpts from an interview with Bodrov and the memoirs of his loved ones.

In 2006, Bodrov was posthumously awarded the MTV Award in the "Generation Recognition" nomination.

In 2017, it became known about the intention of civil activists to erect a monument to Danila Bagrov in Moscow.

On Friday, it was announced that the search for victims of the Kolka glacier, which descended last autumn in North Ossetia, would cease on June 2. We are talking about a tunnel under the Karmadon Gorge, around which passions are now boiling. Enthusiasts continue to make their way into the tunnel, experts consider it extremely dangerous and unpromising. This is how the chairman of the government of North Ossetia formulated the problem.

Mikhail Shatalov:
“I met with the parents of Bodrov, Nosik, Tsygarev. We said that if the work of the invited diver from St. Petersburg did not give any results within a few days, then we would stop this work. The diver expressed the inexpediency of carrying out further work. Therefore, today we adopted a decision to close the prospecting work - only in the adit.

In the meantime, the relatives of the missing (no one here says the word “dead”) claim that a car may have been found in the Karmadon tunnel.

According to other sources, fragments of the car of the film crew of Sergei Bodrov Jr. were found in a completely different place. Now the version is also spreading that the film group could not approach the tunnel at all, which means that there is no one to look for there.

From the Karmadon Gorge we received a report from our special correspondent Alexei Yegorov, who himself went down into the adit a week ago.

Relatives of the missing learned from us about the closure of work in the Karmadon Gorge: no one officially informed those living in the camp. For eight months, these people searched for their loved ones day after day. And today the authorities decided to put an end to their work.

Vladimir Gavaza, bomber:
We have, according to bare forecasts, ten days, two weeks at the most. And we can enter the tunnel under certain conditions and appropriate assistance to make sure there is someone there or not ... .

Vladimir Gavaza is a global bomber. His name is listed in the Guinness Book of Records. And why the authorities do not listen to the opinion of this specialist is not clear. However, the camp does not need much help from the authorities. Both food and gasoline here have long been bought at their own expense.

Konstantin Dzherapov, volunteer:
“As far as I understand, the government says that they are taking away their equipment completely: their tractors - that is, we will not have a road and we will walk ... If we do not have equipment, then we will get the earth in buckets. If they try to touch our pipe, it will be very unpleasant, but we will not let us near the pipe.”

Exactly a week ago we descended into that very “pipe”, that is, an adit. And they saw how divers work. And today we again went to the glacier. With the onset of summer, it began to melt and huge masses of ice every day bring material evidence of the tragedy to the surface.

While walking on the glacier, you catch yourself thinking that you are constantly looking at your feet. And not only because there may be cracks in the ice - I really want to find something. Any thing brought from the glacier will be perceived in the camp as a small holiday. So far, we have managed to find an orange pen, or rather its remnants.

On the tragic day of September 20, the glacier passed at this place at a speed of 160 km / h. It was simply impossible for those who were in the valley to survive. The tunnel is the only place where people could hide. But they say there are witnesses who saw how the cars of the film crew drove into it.

Valentina Bodrova, mother of Sergei Bodrov:
“I am a mother, I will make my way through the mountain, and I will still look for the blood and bones of my son. I promise you this!"

The official closing of the work will take place in three days - June 2. Meanwhile, a new batch of fuel and food was brought to the camp today. Nobody wants to leave here voluntarily.

September 20 marked the 15th anniversary of the tragedy, the equal of which the history of Russian cinematography did not know. 106 people from the Svyaznoy film crew remained in the ice grave after the descent Of the 19 bodies found by rescuers, and fragments of 17 more, the remains of Sergei Bodrov, who received the nickname of the nationwide brother after the brilliantly played role of Daniil Bagrov, were not found. He is still listed as missing.

Everyone is interested to know how the wife of Bodrov Jr. and his family live today. The article will introduce the reader closer to the woman who became his muse and the main love of such an unfairly short life. Sergei was only 30.

What is known about the life of Svetlana Bodrova

In an ordinary family in Kudrino, near Moscow, in August 1970, a girl was born, who was named Svetlana. Her last name was Shitina. But at the end of school, the girl married a local policeman early and changed her to Mikhailova. Svetlana's mother, Nina Ivanovna, still lives in the Moscow region. Local residents remember her daughter as a bright and very friendly person. Svetlana's family life did not work out, and after the divorce, the future wife of Bodrov Jr. (photo presented in the article) went to Moscow. Here she met a man who turned out to be not the last person in the criminal world. Little is known about him. Only that his name was Mikhail, and he greatly contributed to the fact that Svetlana began her career on television.

Few people know that the girl graduated from the theater school (Novosibirsk) in 1991, she has participated in six projects behind her shoulders. Svetlana also has a diploma from MIIGAiK. On television, she worked as a director of a number of programs ("Canon", "Sharks of the Pen").

Personal life before meeting with Bodrov

Having learned about Mikhail's occupation, the future wife of Bodrov Jr. decided to break off relations with him. During the filming of the program "Sharks of the Pen", young Otar Kushanashvili became interested in her, but met with the inaccessibility of a young woman. This only brought a famous womanizer, and he stubbornly began to seek the beauty he liked. Kushanashvili invited Svetlana to the Soho restaurant, where a decisive conversation took place, after which the couple began to live together. It was Otar who was destined to withstand the onslaught of a criminal authority on his shoulders, who for a long time pursued the once beloved woman.

After a while, Svetlana Mikhailova started a serious conversation about the prospects for relations, for which Kushanashvili was not ready. Instead of an offer, he took his passion to rest in Turkey, but this only alienated them from each other.

Fateful acquaintance

According to Kushanashvili, Svetlana was able to fall in love either with a madman, to whom he considered himself, or with a talented one. Such a nugget actor was Sergei Bodrov, the son of a famous director. In 1996, he was invited to television in the Vzglyad program, where he began working as a presenter. A year later, fate brought Svetlana and Sergey to Cuba, where both covered the youth festival. A spark immediately flew between them. Kushanashvili noted that after the trip, the young woman's eyes began to shine, and Bodrov Jr. himself admitted: it was this image of his beloved that already lived in his imagination.

A year later, the couple got married, but before that, the actor considered it necessary to meet with a former rival. Kushanashvili in 10 minutes of communication saw a young man in front of him, as it seemed to him, with a childish face, but with a great sense of responsibility. The future wife of Bodrov Jr. met in him a real man, whom many women dream of. The lines from his letters, given in the article below, speak about the feelings of the actor.

Photos of the family can be seen in the article. The couple were happy, because in the five years of marriage, both only strengthened their desire to be together. A year later, their eldest daughter was born. The girl was named Olya. Until the summer of 1999, Bodrov continued to work at Vzglyad, but cinema remained the main thing for him. During his short life, he starred in 13 films, began to try himself as a screenwriter and director. His debut in a new capacity took place in "Sisters" (2001), the next brainchild was to be "The Messenger".

The expedition was planned for the summer of 2002, but was postponed due to the upcoming joyful event. Svetlana was preparing to become a mother for the second time. The decision was made by Sergei Bodrov, Jr., who dreams of a son. His wife and children were the most important thing to him. The name of the boy - Alexander - was chosen by the father. Three weeks later, the film expedition nevertheless took place, but Svetlana noted that when leaving, the young director seemed sad.

Tragedy in North Ossetia

And the wife also remembers the last call, when Sergey, for some reason, at parting, advised to take care of the children. On September 20, the shooting day did not work out. We waited a long time for transport, left for nature three hours later. And in the evening a tragedy happened - the glacier woke up, silent for more than half a century. An unthinkable combination of circumstances led to a terrible disaster, the entire film crew of 106 people was under the ice.

The news shocked those close to them. Relatives of the filmmakers rushed to the scene. The wife of Bodrov Jr. left two young children and left for North Ossetia. Crazed with grief, people created a search camp named "Hope", starting the search for a tunnel that could be a salvation for people buried alive. It lasted two years. Sergei's mother Valentina Nikolaevna clung to every opportunity to be there and find at least the remains of her own son. The father, Sergei Bodrov Sr., who lives with his second wife in the United States, also visited the site of the tragedy.

The miracle didn't happen. Already in 2008, the tunnel was discovered, but it turned out to be empty. How does it feel to not even be able to bury someone close to you? How do today, 15 years later, the wife and children of Bodrov Jr. live?

Life after the disaster

The father of the idol of millions refused the inheritance so that the widow had the opportunity to raise children. In Moscow, the family left a four-room apartment, in the Moscow region, in Svetlana's homeland, - a house. The youngest son is exactly the same age as has passed since the tragedy. Alexander, like his father, is fond of history. After all, it is no secret that it was the history department of Moscow State University that Sergei Bodrov Jr. graduated from. The wife and children (photo presented in the article) honor the memory of their father. Their family keeps a relic - a large-knit sweater, in which the famous actor starred as Danila Bagrov.

In 2014, the eldest daughter Olya entered a theater university (workshop of Leonid Kheifets). She already had a film debut, the girl tried herself in a short film. The mother of a cinema star deified during her lifetime, Valentina Nikolaevna, published a book with Sergei's dissertation. Few people know that Bodrov Jr. is a candidate of science: he wrote a magnificent work on the art of the Renaissance.

A few words about the widow

But what about Svetlana? A photo of the wife of Sergei Bodrov Jr. is presented a little higher. She continues to work in television. For a long time she was the director of the popular program "Wait for me", today she works in She does not participate in and does not give interviews. There was an attempt to connect her life with a businessman, but the woman still did not marry. The bar set by the main person in her life, who remained forever in the hearts of millions, is too high.

Last week marked 15 years since the death of the actor and director Sergei Bodrov Jr., who is considered a symbol of the cinema of the 90s and early 2000s. The artist died on the set of his film "The Messenger" as a result of the collapse of the Kolka glacier in the Karmadon Gorge. On the occasion of the sad anniversary, Yuri Dud dedicated a new episode of the author's program "vDud" to the star on his YouTube channel.

Sergei Bodrov Sr., Oleg Menshikov, ex-host of the Vzglyad program Alexander Lyubimov, Soslan Makiyev, the administrator of the Svyaznoy film crew, and Ossetian businessman Konstantin Dzherapov, who invested heavily in the rescue operation in Karmadon, talked to the journalist. The entrepreneur told Yuri about how the mother of a famous actor survived the tragedy. According to him, Valentina Nikolaevna Bodrova visits the place of her son's death every year.

“A year passes, we hugged, as if we saw each other yesterday. She comes here. May arrive the day before the anniversary. He rises, sits near the monument, walks over the mass. I see that she just wants to be with him, about something, maybe chat. I never get into it, it's her personal. I think… This is a mother, you know, she is a very strong woman,” said Dzherapov.

According to the man, Valentina Nikolaevna took an active part in the search for the bodies of the film crew. The woman made a lot of efforts so that the operation did not stand still.

“She fought with us on an equal footing and said:“ Kostya, maybe we can ask someone to help. I said: "It is unlikely that we can reach." She objected: "No, wait, maybe we'll try." She starts working and doing it. And in this work, when a person is busy not only with thoughts, but also with searches, the blow is softened. A person thinks not only about this. He is busy and understands that a bulldozer is needed. And Valentina dragged a bulldozer here through someone. He helped us simply unrealistic,” recalls Konstantin.

Soslan Makiyev confirmed the words of Konstantin Dzherapov. “Thanks to her, we got a lot of things. Who would give us explosives, who are we? 127 tons,” he said.

The administrator of the last film, Bodrov, also spoke about how close members of the film crew of the film The Messenger, many of whom were born in North Ossetia, reacted to the tragedy. According to Makiyev, nothing was said to his face, but there were conversations behind his back. The only person who turned to Soslan was his childhood friend. Once a woman turned to Makiyev with a request to hire her relatives.

“When this happened, she told me: “I understand that you are not to blame, but there is a feeling that you took and did not give.” And I don’t even talk about others ... I don’t want to talk about it, but under Bodrov’s mother, Valentina Nikolaevna, he was scolded with all the last words. For the fact that he came at all, for what is connected with him ... They were told: “He is not there either.” And no one has heard this, because everyone has their own pain, ”Makiyev shared.

In turn, Oleg Menshikov noted that he did not immediately believe in the death of the actor and director, with whom he once played in the films Prisoner of the Caucasus and East-West.

“Then I wanted to believe that in some village there lives a person who does not remember anything, but lives. I mean, it's like a cinematic story. There was, of course, complete denial, they say, something happened, but it's fixable. This hope is fading with each passing day. It pressed, very strongly and seriously, ”said the artistic director of the Yermolova Theater.

Valentina Bodrova, mother of Sergei Bodrov, again asks for help

Valentina BODROVA, the mother of the actor and director Sergei Bodrov, who died in Karmadon, again turned to Rossiyskaya Gazeta. Valentina Nikolaevna became, in fact, a symbol of hope and resistance in this tragedy. Whatever the verdict of the expert commissions, you must admit that the mother always wants the search to continue. About this and about the people on the glacier - our conversation with her.

What is happening in Karmadon now?

On May 30, the EMERCOM of Russia suspended search operations due to their alleged inexpediency. In fact, the work continues, since the government of North Ossetia is well aware that the conclusion of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is unreliable.

I.e?

There were three tunnels, two of which were clearly pierced with mudflow. But one stood in such a way that the ice covered it from above. Local residents had an assumption that the tunnel was not flashed by the mudflow and there could be people there. I want to especially emphasize that it was not necessarily the group of Serezha Bodrov. It doesn't matter to us who it is. When we arrived there with Serezha's father, Sergei Vladimirovich Bodrov, we were shown an approximate place where the group could be, and they said that the group was under ice 150 meters thick. Indeed, it was impossible to find living people in the Karmadon Gorge. And the only place could be this tunnel. Ossetians came there and started digging with shovels, looking for this tunnel. After that, Muscovites and Leningraders joined them. The avalanche came down on September 20, and on the third day it was concluded that all the tunnels had been examined and all were clogged with mudflow. According to our assumptions, that third tunnel could not be clogged with mudflow. And we began to look for him. They searched blindly. Because there were no blueprints. This took about 6 months. It was a hell of a job, because they carried explosives, logs, and equipment over the mountains on their hands. We are grateful for all possible assistance to the President and the Government of North Ossetia, the Republican Ministry of Emergency Situations, and private organizations.

Have you applied for help to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia?

Certainly. But when we turned to the Ministry of Emergency Situations for help, the work was delayed. What could be done in one day was done in a week, two, three. If professionals, with the necessary technical equipment, took up this immediately, I think the work would go faster. In the end, we found a tunnel. Subsequently, the Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that it was they who found him. Once again I declare - the tunnel was found by us "at random". It may be funny, but it so happened that a 19-year-old girl showed us the place where to drill a well. Out of desperation, we decided to try. And they hit. But they did not hit directly into the tunnel, but a little to the side. After that, we were at the reception at the Ministry of Emergency Situations and asked them to send divers who could go down there. The Deputy Minister even suggested that we invite independent divers. Emergency divers have arrived. With our men at 4 o'clock in the morning they went down into the well. The whole descent with preparations took half an hour. The diver was under water for several minutes, twirled around there, walked around. After that, without saying a word, Deputy Minister Korotkin and the Minister of Emergency Situations of North Ossetia left for a conference. No official conclusion was given to us. On the same day, while crossing the pass, we met the EMERCOM car carrying the ministers. Korotkin told us that the tunnel was full of mudflows and there was nothing there. We asked that our own come down with a diver from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. "If our diver says, together with yours, that everything is packed, we will leave Karmadon." Korotkin agreed, but suggested that the EMERCOM divers had already left. We drove on. On the way, we saw an EMERCOM car near the restaurant. They tried to talk to the divers sitting in the restaurant, but it turned out that they were forbidden to talk to their relatives. The next day, we invited a diver from the local station, who was not equipped like EMERCOM divers. He went down into the well and said - there is a passage. He could not stay there for a long time - he was wearing a light diving suit. The next day, a Belarusian diver Igor Matyuk, who is engaged in lifting military equipment from the swamps, came to us and confirmed that it was possible to pass. We made an explosion and he entered the tunnel. There was no seat. There was water and clean river sand. On the day when we met a company of ministers on the road, Korotkin reported to Shoigu on television all over the country that a diver had entered the tunnel, the tunnel was clogged with mudflow, it was not advisable to work further. And they made recommendations to the government of North Ossetia to stop work.

We assume that sand and water are only at the bottom of the tunnel, that further up there could still be an empty space. We are not talking about the fact that there should be a Bodrov group somewhere, there could be other people there. For Ossetians, it is considered a curse not to find the body of the deceased. But that's not the point. We're not looking for bones. But people need to know what happened. Since we have already got there, since we worked so hard, we worked hard, we insist that the Ministry of Emergency Situations help us to pass these 200 meters.

Is that what made you write a letter to the President?

Yes, the Ministry of Emergency Situations chose the role of a passive observer of our ordeals, excluding those few rescuers who, as a human being, wanted to help us. The President of Russia rightly said that he had no reason not to trust these people. But Vladimir Vladimirovich has no reason not to trust us either. Unfortunately, we cannot convey our information to the President. Yes, we sent a letter, but it was forwarded to Shoigu. We would like to tell our truth. We don't invent, please come and have a look. That's the crux of the problem.

Why do you think the role of a passive observer was chosen?

Probably the bureaucratic machine worked. On the third day, the conclusion was given, and the officials did not want to backtrack. Of course, the picture of what happened was terrible. Apocalypse. But there is a ton. Little of. A few days ago, a cassette tape from a video camera was found, which is absolutely not damaged! In general, it is quite clear to us that the information that has reached the President is incorrect. Something needs to be done about this. Work continues now. Our guys bought diving suits and continue to work. There is no hysteria, as they write in the newspapers. Our goal, I spoke about this in a March interview with RG, is to leave the glacier as soon as possible. And you can achieve it by helping us.

Was there one of the officials on the glacier itself?

Shoigu flew around in a helicopter, he did not go down there. It is likely that he simply does not know this situation. He himself did not see anything. His deputy Korotkin was on the glacier.

Valentina Nikolaevna, it seems that after Seryozha disappeared, you live only in Ossetia ...

Yes, that's what I live for. I am there. I need to finish this.

But, you see, I don't want there to be a bias towards Serezha. Sergei Vladimirovich Bodrov, Seryozha's father, also objects to talking only about our son.

How are you without it?

I would not like to answer this question.

Do they write letters to you?

Yes, letters come to Karmadon, hundreds of letters. Parcels are coming.

Are you offended by the attitude of the Ministry of Emergency Situations?

I'm not offended, I'm just surprised. It amazes me. I don't know what it's about. They simply do not hear a person, they do not want to understand him. They say that some money is being laundered, custom-made articles are being written. As a human being, I cannot understand this. I'm not offended by anyone, just don't interfere with us, that's all.

People work there for months. How do they live, what do they talk about?

We talk about things all the time and how to solve them. And as a human being, life goes on normally there, natural life. Sometimes things don't work out, but they keep going. This is hellish work. Everything is done by hand. Tons of ice...

Nobody is crying there. And never cried. Nobody complains about anything.

It is impossible to convey how difficult it is. And you know... After all, no one met with us, did not talk. If there were meetings, then only at our request. And in a human way to explain - no one. It happened and happened. Yes, recently our women received 15,000 rubles in compensation.
