Childhood and family
Sergei Bodrov Jr. was born on December 27, 1971 in the family of the famous director Sergei Vladimirovich Bodrov and art teacher Valentina Nikolaevna Bodrova. When he was 13, his parents divorced. The elder Bodrov subsequently married Aizhan Bekkulova, an artist and gallery owner from Kazakhstan, and Sergei had a half-sister, Asya. 
At a young age, Sergei loved loneliness and "managed well by himself." And he didn’t dream of a movie at all, but dreamed of being a scavenger and driving around the city in an orange car.
Sergei Bodrov Jr. received a certificate at Moscow school No. 1265 with in-depth study of the French language. Teachers recalled that he "was moderately rambunctious and mobile, and never messed up."
Already at school, Sergei was attracted to work. His class went to the Udarnitsa factory every week and packed sweets. Schoolchildren packed sweets into boxes and bandaged them themselves. The money earned, however, was received by the school, which spent it on excursions for students.
After school, Bodrov wanted to enter VGIK. However, his father explained to him that there should be a passion for cinema, and if it does not come, then it should be completely forgotten. Sergei did not feel passion, and therefore entered the history department of Moscow State University. He specialized in the history of art, and more specifically, in the painting of the Venetian Renaissance. It was at the university, according to the actor, that he was taught to see beauty in the ordinary.
On the course, Sergei Bodrov was considered lucky: in 1991 he was lucky enough to go to study in Italy. On a "study trip," he managed to get a job as a beach lifeguard and save money to travel around the country. The next three summers, he again came there and worked as a lifeguard.
The teachers recalled that studying was easy for Bodrov - it was clear that he received an excellent secondary education. He was especially good at foreign languages. He was loved by both teachers and classmates.

Balabanov's painting "Morphine" was created according to the script by Bodrov, who himself adapted Mikhail Bulgakov's "Notes of a Young Doctor" for filming. Subsequently, the director slightly changed the structure of the film and its ending, but in memory of Bodrov, who did a tremendous job, he did not write off his name in the credits. The main role was also supposed to go to Bodrov. After his tragic death, Leonid Bichevin took his place.
A television
In October 1996, Sergei Bodrov Jr. appeared on the ORT channel (now Channel One) as co-host Alexander Lyubimov in the Vzglyad program. The film crew flew to the Caucasus in September. A year after the death of Bodrov, the Eksmo publishing house published a book of memoirs about the actor. While walking on the glacier, you catch yourself thinking that you are constantly looking at your feet. And not only because there may be cracks in the ice - I really want to find something. Any thing brought from the glacier will be perceived in the camp as a small holiday. So far, we have managed to find an orange pen, or rather its remnants.
On the tragic day of September 20, the glacier passed at this place at a speed of 160 km / h. It was simply impossible for those who were in the valley to survive. The tunnel is the only place where people could hide. But they say there are witnesses who saw how the cars of the film crew drove into it.

Crazed with grief, people created a search camp named "Hope", starting the search for a tunnel that could be a salvation for people buried alive. It lasted two years. Sergei's mother Valentina Nikolaevna clung to every opportunity to be there and find at least the remains of her own son. There were three tunnels, two of which were clearly pierced with mudflow. But one stood in such a way that the ice covered it from above. Local residents had an assumption that the tunnel was not flashed by the mudflow and there could be people there. I want to especially emphasize that it was not necessarily the group of Serezha Bodrov. It doesn't matter to us who it is. When we arrived there with Serezha's father, Sergei Vladimirovich Bodrov, we were shown an approximate place where the group could be, and they said that the group was under ice 150 meters thick. Indeed, it was impossible to find living people in the Karmadon Gorge. And the only place could be this tunnel. Ossetians came there and started digging with shovels, looking for this tunnel. After that, Muscovites and Leningraders joined them. The avalanche came down on September 20, and on the third day it was concluded that all the tunnels had been examined and all were clogged with mudflow. According to our assumptions, that third tunnel could not be clogged with mudflow. And we began to look for him. They searched blindly. Because there were no blueprints. This took about 6 months. It was a hell of a job, because they carried explosives, logs, and equipment over the mountains on their hands. Certainly. But when we turned to the Ministry of Emergency Situations for help, the work was delayed. What could be done in one day was done in a week, two, three. If professionals, with the necessary technical equipment, took up this immediately, I think the work would go faster. In the end, we found a tunnel. Subsequently, the Ministry of Emergency Situations stated that it was they who found him. Once again I declare - the tunnel was found by us "at random". It may be funny, but it so happened that a 19-year-old girl showed us the place where to drill a well. Out of desperation, we decided to try. And they hit. But they did not hit directly into the tunnel, but a little to the side. After that, we were at the reception at the Ministry of Emergency Situations and asked them to send divers who could go down there. The Deputy Minister even suggested that we invite independent divers. Emergency divers have arrived. With our men at 4 o'clock in the morning they went down into the well. The whole descent with preparations took half an hour. The diver was under water for several minutes, twirled around there, walked around. On the day when we met a company of ministers on the road, Korotkin reported to Shoigu on television all over the country that a diver had entered the tunnel, the tunnel was clogged with mudflow, it was not advisable to work further.
