Gas holders for a country house: prices, reviews, proper installation and operation features. Autonomous turnkey gasification - cost and prices Gas tank in a country house

Layout plan

Gas holder - a container made of durable alloy of various shapes and volumes for storing gas. Typically, gas tanks are made of steel, treated with a protective coating on top and equipped with an antistatic voltage system.

An example of the location of the gas tank on the site

Such barrels are installed outside the home, which is safer, and are refueled no more than once a year. The cost of refueling a gas tank is significantly lower than the price of gas from main networks. A person calmly uses a gas tank for heating, water heating, cooking and does not depend on the prices for servicing a gas organization.

Autonomous gas supply scheme

A fuel tank is a good alternative to gasification of a private house, especially where there are no centralized gas networks. Tanks are usually filled with butane, methane, sometimes with mixtures of different gases. Most often, the procedure is performed in the summer, since it is at this time that the cost of blue fuel goes down. Many abandon the idea of installing a stand-alone system after seeing how much a gas tank costs. But do not rush to conclusions, there are types of gas tanks that are not so affordable.

Main characteristics and features of gas tanks

Modern gas tanks differ from their industrial "brothers", first of all, in that the gas pressure in the tank is constant. Special automation is responsible for this - sensors and valves for measuring volume, pressure, filling and distribution. The pressure indicators differ from the atmospheric pressure and amount to 1.8 MPa. What is a gas tank and how does it work?

  1. After refueling, liquefied gas is supplied to the tank.
  2. The next stage is the evaporation of gas vapor.
  3. The pressure forces the gas to move through the pipes.

The shape of the gas tank is of fundamental importance! The larger the evaporation area, the better the gas is supplied to the system, so horizontal models are usually used.

Consider the principle of operation of a gas cat. In fact, this is a standard heat generator.

The principle of operation of the boiler on liquefied gas

The heat in it is released due to the combustion of fuel. The heat exchanger heats up and transfers heat to the pipes of the heating system.

Types of gas tanks

So, according to the type of installation, gas tanks are:

  1. Ground.
  2. Underground.

Ground gas tanks can most often be found at enterprises. Their installation is simple, cheaper, and service access does not take much time. However, they are subject to temperature fluctuations, and in some cases their use is impractical.

Scheme of options for installing a gas tank in production

For autonomous gasification of a summer house or a cottage, such systems are not suitable:

  1. They significantly spoil the appearance of the site.
  2. Not protected from bad weather and frost.

For use in private homes, underground models are better suited.

Underground gas tank of horizontal type

IMPORTANT!

In regions where the lower temperature threshold is below 20°C in winter, it is preferable to install underground cylinders.

The depth at which the underground cylinder is installed varies in different regions - it depends on the depth of soil freezing. However, on average, it is 60 cm. Such models, in turn, also differ in volume and type.

Vertical Models

Such models are mainly used in areas of limited area. The diameter of the pit for such a gas tank is only 2.5 meters.

Vertical type gas tank on site

Scheme of installation of a vertical type gas tank

On the other hand, the evaporation area also decreases, which means that the gas supply pressure in such networks may not be very high. Reviews regarding vertical gas tanks are not so numerous. On some forums they write that vertical models are supposedly equipped with a special plastic casing. However, experts, answering questions, debunked this myth.

Feedback on a vertical gas tank in a plastic casing

Horizontal Models

Unlike vertical models, horizontal models meet the main requirement - a large evaporation area. Such systems are characterized by high performance. They can be installed at once in several pieces on the site.

An example of installing two horizontal gas tanks to one gearbox

Such systems double the volume of gas supply to the dwelling. However, when the tank is emptied twice, the performance of the gas tank may drop. To do this, the system is equipped with an additional gearbox. Which gas tank is better to choose - it's up to you.

Mini gas holders

This type of gas tank is usually considered as an option for heating a country house. They can be installed both outdoors and indoors. Mini gas tanks for a country house are easy to transport (for example, for the summer). Usually they do not exceed a volume of 500 liters, but this is quite enough to get heat and hot water for the whole summer without any problems.

Mini gas holder 480 liters

And for regular cooking in a gas stove, the gas supply without refueling is enough for 2 years. For heating the house, the consumption will be significantly higher.

Mobile Options

To refuel mini gas tanks, you need to invite a special service or carry the cylinder yourself to the gas station. However, there is a more convenient option - mobile gas tanks. They are significantly larger. In their design, they already have special wheels, and a system of fasteners for transportation is also provided. This will save a lot of money on calling a special team. To transport mobile cylinders on your own, you will need a small trailer with a winch.

Step-by-step instructions for refueling and transportation rules

Let us consider in detail the process of loading, refueling and transportation of a gas tank of this type.

Photo Actions

With the help of the lifting mechanism, the gas tank is easily loaded into the trailer, and the wheels fall exactly into the grooves on the hinged cover.

With the help of a winch, we pull the balloon to the edge of the platform.

The cylinder is located in a special metal box, which has special fasteners both in front and behind.

It is important to tighten the fasteners on both sides. To do this, special holders are screwed into the corners of the trailer. The cylinder on such a spacer will be securely fixed during transportation.

We get to the nearest gas station and fill the tank.

We return and do all the procedures in reverse order. It is necessary to ensure that the wheels of the cylinder fit exactly into the grooves in order to prevent it from tipping over.

Using a special hose, we connect the mobile gas tank to the distribution system.

We cover the box with the gas tank with a protective film.

Be sure to install such a hood in the kitchen.

IMPORTANT!

Any gas system in the house requires reliable ventilation!

As we can see, such mobile cylinders may well provide heating for the heating system and boilers.

Users note that the device of such a mobile gas tank is more profitable than its mini version. Especially when you consider that many companies offer a trailer along with a container on wheels.

Reviews of a mobile gas tank with a trailer

However, if the gas consumption is large, then it is better to choose stationary equipment.

The stationary unit requires less effort in maintenance, it does not need additional costs after installation. Such equipment has greater efficiency and productivity.

IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW!

Compared to natural gas, bottled LPG is more economical.

Before buying a gas tank, you need to decide on the following points:

  1. Container type.
  2. Volume.
  3. Profitability.
  4. Installation cost.

In order to find out what kind of gas consumption you will have, you can carry out such calculations. The standard consumption of liquefied gas for the heating season is 20 liters per 1 m². In other periods, the figure drops to 3.5 liters per 1 m². At the stage of gas tank selection, the company's specialists will help to calculate these parameters. Some of them offer calculators for calculating the parameters, depending on the area of the house, the planned model of the gas tank, the cost of the first refueling and turnkey installation of equipment.

Rating of manufacturers of gas tanks

Today, there are literally several companies on the market that have successfully established themselves. The rest are most often one-day firms offering the same product, only with their own brand. Sometimes these "specialists" have nothing but a website.

Features of the choice of models:

  1. Imported gas tanks are made from thinner steel sheets, unlike domestic ones. However, foreign models are covered with an improved anti-corrosion coating.
  2. Some gas tanks of foreign models are not suitable for refueling with domestic gas due to the difference in filling units.
  3. All models of gas tanks installed in Russia must have a certificate of conformity.
  4. The “weak point” of Russian gas tanks is pressure gauges. They are made without the use of safety valves, there is no overflow protection. Valves and flanges must be retightened regularly.
  5. The service life of condensate collectors of domestic manufacturers of gas tanks is 15 years, in contrast to 50 years for those made of polymeric materials in foreign samples.

"Deltagaz"

The Czech company Deltagaz is the leader in sales of equipment for autonomous boiler houses in Europe. The manufacturer has its own design office, which allows the introduction of new engineering solutions, depending on the needs of the market.

Underground horizontal gas holder of the Czech company "Deltagaz"

Inspection of welded elements in the company is carried out by the high pressure method of 22 barrels. The wall thickness of different elements varies from 5 to 11 mm. And the limit deviations are within the framework of the DIN 28005 standard.

"Kadatek"

The company "took" its niche in the market thanks to the installation of gas tanks with an enlarged mouth. The design has high strength, the width of the sheet is almost 6 mm.

Gas holder "Kadatek"

Before coating with a layer of epoxy resin, gas tanks are necessarily processed by sandblasting. The products are attractive due to their price-quality ratio.

VPS

This Czech brand has been known on the market for autonomous gasification systems since 2005. It has good corrosion protection performance due to high quality steel and protective coatings.

VPS gas tank 10000 liters

Supplied with high quality German fittings. The depth of the “landing” of the tank allows installation to a depth of up to 80 cm. With proper installation, the service life is more than 50 years. "Chemet"

These Polish gas tanks, among other
a steel case, the quality of the walls, have electrochemical anti-corrosion protection.

Gasholders "Chemet-Premium"

"City gas"

Producer from Bulgaria. An excellent solution for various buildings - from small summer cottages to suburban ones.

Gas holders of the Bulgarian company "City-gas" for the Russian market - volume and performance

One of the few suppliers that produces small volumes of containers - from 2700 l. The walls are made of high-strength polymers, which provides good protection against corrosion.

Russian gas tanks RP and RPG

One of the indisputable advantages of a domestic manufacturer is low prices. However, the quality of domestic products leaves much to be desired. Almost all manufacturers use steel 09G2S, which does not have persistent anti-corrosion properties. In order to slow down the corrosion of such a gas tank, it is imperative to carry out electrochemical protection measures. And this is an additional consumption of electricity. So the potential efficiency of such gas tanks will eventually turn into unnecessary expenses.

Autonomous turnkey gasification, list of works, prices

The price of a gas tank for a private house depends on the package of services that you purchase, as well as on the volume of the gas tank.

The cost of turnkey work depending on the list, type of gas tank and its volume on the example of City-Gas and VPS

Usually, the standard package of services includes: delivery of a gas tank and a concrete slab under the base, shutoff valves, pressure regulator, gas pipes. Installation check and pressure testing of the main equipment.

Standard and additional list of equipment for VPS gas tanks

For an additional fee, specialists can dig a pit, install a condensate collection tank, electrochemical protection systems, as well as perform grounding and installation of a lightning rod. Thus, the price of a turnkey gas tank for a private house in the minimum version will be about 250 thousand rubles.

Gas consumption for heating a house from a gas tank

The price of fuel for the boiler is of paramount importance. Information on gas consumption can be found in the instructions for the gas tank. Usually, the footage of the house is taken into account and the total area is divided by 10. The resulting figure will determine the required power for the operation of the equipment. And already it is determined by the volume of the gas tank and the choice of fuel.

Attention!!! The prices below include All the necessary equipment, works and services for the legal commissioning of tanks, reliable and safe operation during the entire designated service life of 40 years, except for land works and the cost of sand, which fills the tank . The table below shows prices for an autonomous gasification system delivered and installed on site, based on reliable and durable gas tanks (gas holders) Chemet certified models 2700P, 4850P, 4850PM, 6400P, 6400PM, 9200P, 9200PM.

Comparing the prices of autonomous gasification based on gas tanks from various manufacturers, it should be noted that due to changes in legislation in the entire Russian market, only Chemet gas tanks of models 2700P, 4850P, 4850PM, 6400P, 6400PM, 9200P, 9200PM do not require additional expensive (80-300 thousand rubles) examination for compliance regulations of the Russian Federation for their legalization, because only these articles are fully identified in the certificate and nameplate (nameplate). All other Chemet models, except those mentioned above, and all models of gas tanks from City-Gas, VPS, Kadatec, G.A.M., Antonio Merloni, as well as all Russian manufacturers, require individual certification during legal operation due to the fact that they are not identified in the certificate , therefore, their compliance with the regulations has not been proven. To the prices of all tank models of all other manufacturers, it is necessary to add additional costs of 80-300 thousand rubles for individual certification with hydraulic tests conducted by an independent expert organization. Also, please note that models of these or other brands, such as Deltagaz, are not subject to certification. PROHIBITED operation of non-certified models of gas tanks in accordance with TR CU 032/2013! Availability of a certificate without specifying the article number of the model and / or the assigned service life is not proof of confirmation of compliance of the gas tank with the regulations of the Russian Federation! An order to ban operation can be issued by the Ministry of Emergency Situations when checking on a report from the operator of the state automated information system GAIS ERA-GLONASS (tracking gas tankers) or on complaints from neighbors.

When comparing with the prices of other companies, one should take into account the significant additional costs of the owners of “cheap” gas tanks of other companies for autonomous gasification systems, for certification tests, for paying for the electricity consumed by the ECP system for corrosion protection, for replacing the tank at the end of the low (10 years) designated service life.

When calculating the economic efficiency of using Chemet gas tanks, one should take into account, that the quoted price (price divided by proven service life) of Chemet is the lowest on the Russian market: 3-4 times lower than the quoted price of other manufacturers. The record-breaking long safe operation life of Chemet gas tanks is due to the unique material of the gas tanks, which is not subject to sulfation under the influence of hydrogen sulfide additives and inclusions aggressive to steel contained in the gas. The record service life of 40 years is confirmed by a certificate issued by the German technical supervision TUV SUD. Gas tanks of all other manufacturers need to be replaced after 10 years.

Frequently asked questions about the autonomous gasification system:

The autonomous gas supply system is in demand in places remote from the central gas pipeline. Often it is ordered by owners of dachas, country houses and cottages, residents of remote houses and small enterprises located on the outskirts of cities.

Running a gas pipeline today is very expensive, plus you have to pay for the gas supply project for the facility, and it can take more than one month in time. Therefore, some people decide to "acquire" their own gas supply system. How much time is needed for this? From submitting an application to creating a project and launching autonomous gasification, it can take only about one week and you have gas at home. And in terms of finances, it can be much cheaper than connecting to the central gas pipeline. But maybe you want to understand all this more, let's do it now.

Private gasification is its own system not connected with any other types of communications. It consists of a tank or gas holder where fuel is stored. The capacity is selected depending on the consumption, but about the calculations a little later. Further, the composition includes pipes, signal sensors, a leak and accident warning system, end users: a gas boiler, a stove, a water heater, a convector.

Gas in the house to the boiler (stove, water heater, etc.) comes from the gas tank, so the amount of fuel depends on the volume of the tank, therefore, in order for it to be enough, an accurate and correct calculation is needed. You can add 20% to the result for "every fire case." Suddenly, the winter turned out to be colder, the children brought their grandchildren for the holidays and you need to turn on the heating more, that is, the consumption may not be planned to increase. When the fuel runs out, you can order it from a company supplying liquefied gas, a car will come and fill the gas tank. So, let's see how the tank is calculated. The gas consumption for the room costs approximately 21 liters. per sq. m. If you have a house of 100 square meters. m., so you need a gas tank with a capacity of 2100 liters, add 20% here, the volume is 2520 liters.

It is important to know that the gas is not filled to the full, but up to 85% of the total capacity. Another factor to take into account is if the car filling the tank is delayed through the weather for one or two days, then a small margin can play an important role. It turns out that if you install a gas tank at 2500 - 3000 liters. it will be enough to fill it only once a year.

When choosing a gas boiler, the main indicator will be power. It depends on many indicators, this is the area of the house, how insulated it is, namely the roof, floor, walls. What is the height of the ceiling, preferred temperature (someone likes 18 degrees, and someone likes to walk in shorts and is comfortable at 28 degrees). It is best to call a specialist from a company selling boilers or installing autonomous gas supply systems, and he will make the correct calculation. This is important, if the calculation is incorrect, the power may not be enough, and accordingly it will be cold in the room. In contrast, purchasing a boiler with much more power than you need is costly, you will overpay money, and the more powerful the unit, the more it usually consumes.

To simply determine the power of the boiler, use the following formula:

P=S∙Pp/10

>What do these numbers mean?

Heating with natural gas is considered one of the most popular options for a private home. The same energy carrier can be used for heating water, cooking. But not every village or holiday village has the ability to connect to a centralized gas supply. The best option is to install a special storage facility for gas, from which it will be supplied to the building. This storage is called a "gas holder" and can be used for a private house and a summer residence.

The principle of operation of the gas tank

Owners of a dacha or country house who have chosen gas supply using a gas tank should be aware that it is not just a tank, but a high-tech installation in which gas is not only stored, but also goes through several stages in processing.

The principle of operation resembles the operation of tanks with the help of which condensed steam is collected. The main steps of the workflow are as follows:

  1. High-pressure gas (up to 1.8 MPa) is pumped into the gas storage for a country house.
  2. When heated, liquefied fuel turns into a gaseous state.
  3. The reactor creates a pressure suitable for the flow of gas into the supply line of the heating system.

Most often, it is recommended to install a gas tank in a country house or in a private house located at a distance from the centralized heat and gas supply. Tanks are available in different sizes, which allows serving buildings of different sizes - from several tens to hundreds of square meters.

The maximum area of the house that a commercially available gas tank can provide with heat is 5000 sq. m. Such an installation is enough, for example, for a holiday home of quite respectable size. And for smaller residential buildings, finding a gas storage is not a problem.

Pros and cons of using

The use of a gas tank for autonomous heating provides the owner of suburban housing with the following advantages:

  • allows you to enjoy the main benefits of civilization even at a great distance from settlements - heating and water heating;
  • acceptable cost of heating;
  • environmental friendliness - no emissions of harmful substances characteristic of solid fuel and liquid fuel heating;
  • safety - observing the requirements of regulatory documents and rules when installing a gas tank in a private house, the risk of spontaneous combustion during operation is reduced to zero.

Maintenance of the gas tank and pipelines does not require large expenses, the operational life of the installation exceeds 20 years. So buying and installing a gas tank is a worthwhile investment.

Heating with liquefied gas is a good choice if there is no main gas pipeline

With all the advantages, there are disadvantages of the gas tank. The owner of the house should also be aware of them. The disadvantages include:

  • The serious cost of equipment, which will have to spend at least 100 thousand rubles. There is an opportunity to save money - to buy a used unit, but there is a risk of buying a tank with an almost spent resource, and this is the likelihood of a gas leak and a serious repair, which can result in a considerable amount.
  • When filling the gas tank with gas, a solid amount is required at a time. The desire to save money leads to the purchase of fuel from unverified suppliers, whose gas quality is either not controlled at all or is controlled very rarely.
  • Refueling with low-quality gas in winter leads to equipment freezing. The situation is unpleasant, but solvable - heating of the gas tank gearbox is necessary. But, during problems, the heating system may defrost. So it is better to buy liquefied gas only from those suppliers that you have confidence in.

The cons also include the constant increase in energy prices, which makes one wonder whether a gas tank is profitable in a private house or whether other types of heat supply should be preferred. On the other hand, heating with gas is still the most cost-effective. The choice - gas tank or electricity - is most often made in favor of the first option.

Classification and types

To choose a suitable gas tank for your home or summer cottage, you should know what types exist, what are their advantages and disadvantages. Storage facilities for liquefied gas are usually classified according to three main criteria: by installation method (underground and aboveground type), mobility (stationary and mobile) and material. Let's talk about these moments and some other characteristics further.

Design

By design, gas tanks can be horizontal and vertical. Vertical ones take up less space, but the disadvantage of this option is the small evaporation surface area.

Because of this, a vertical gas tank for a private house is not used in the northern regions of our country - too little performance at low temperatures. To increase it, it is necessary to heat the liquefied gas with electricity, which increases the cost of maintaining the heating system, and also leads to the dependence of heating on the availability of electricity. Power grids in the northern regions cannot boast of stable operation, so in these areas it is better to choose horizontal models.

Horizontal installations require a larger area for installation, but they do not have performance problems, therefore they are used more often than vertical ones. The evaporation area in such gas tanks is much larger, the productivity (with equal volume) too. The operation of such equipment is practically not affected by the ambient temperature - especially if you choose installations with a high neck.

Installation method

According to the location on the territory of the site, gas tanks can be underground and aboveground. The advantages of installations that are installed below the surface of the earth include:

  • minimal fire hazard;
  • reducing the area occupied by the installation;
  • no need for heating systems and pumps.

The disadvantages of underground installations are an increase in the volume of work for their installation (it is necessary to dig a pit) and capital costs - for ground gas tanks for a country house, prices are much lower. Another disadvantage is more complex maintenance.

Installation of a ground type gas tank does not cause difficulties - only a flat area is needed

If the winters in the region are mild, with slight and short frosts, the terrestrial option is quite suitable. But horizontal or vertical - choose according to needs (by performance).

For a significant part of the territory of Russia with winter temperatures down to –30°C and below, underground-type installations are suitable. If desired, you can find ground ones with factory insulation, capable of operating at such low temperatures. But their cost is much higher - precisely due to insulation. In this situation, it is necessary to compare the costs of installing an underground storage (pit + slab) and only then choose.

If you decide to install a ground gas tank, please note that the tank is large, usually painted in a bright color. It will definitely not serve as a decoration of the landscape. This consideration must also be taken into account.

Mobile storage

One of the options for a ground gas tank is a mobile installation or a gas tank on a trailer. The average volume of such a container is about 600 liters - quite enough for a summer residence. It can also be used for a small private house in the following situations:

You can also buy or make a mobile gas tank with your own hands for emergency or temporary gas supply. Its feature is the need for a heating system and a relatively low (compared to tanks) cost. Average prices for mobile gas tanks for a country house start at 100 thousand rubles. A used device can be bought cheaper, but it is not as safe to use it. Making a mobile storage independently requires a certain level of knowledge and experience from the contractor.

Production material

Gas holders are made for servicing summer cottages and private houses, mainly from steel. The use of plastic is recommended only when installing this tank at a great distance (at least 50 m) from a residential building. Nevertheless, you can often hear about plastic gas tanks. Usually this refers to a steel container with a polymer coating. This is the optimal solution. The strength of steel (with its proper quality) is beyond doubt, but steel rusts and collapses, and the protective polymer shell prevents this process. In terms of durability, polymer-coated steel gas tanks are ideal.

As a material for the container, special steels are selected that are resistant to corrosion. Their cost is higher, but the additional costs are paid off by the high quality of the coating, extended service life, reliability and safety of use. In addition, the use of stainless steel for the manufacture of a gas tank increases the period between surveys (for some models - up to 35 years) and the replacement of protective magnesium anodes. These services are paid, so that stainless steel products can save on operating costs.

Choice of gas tank volume

When choosing the dimensions of the installation, you should know that the minimum volume of a serial gas tank is 1000 liters. It is designed for the needs of a private house with an area of 40–50 m² with brick walls. For a similar building with an area of 100 m², a capacity of 2500-3000 liters is required, for 200 m² - for 5500 or 6000 liters.

If you need to calculate the volume of a gas tank for heating a brick house, multiply the building area in m² by 25 - this is for refueling no more than 1 time per year. Such a tank is filled from March to September, when the cost of liquefied gas usually decreases.

Do not forget that you will still have to lay a route - pipes for supplying gas to consumers - a boiler, a gas water heater, a stove, etc.

If the walls of the building are not brick, you can calculate the volume of the gas tank, knowing what the gas consumption for the selected autonomous gas supply of a private house will be for a certain period. If there is no such data, compare the thermal conductivity of brick walls and the walls of your house. And according to the results of the comparison, increase or decrease the volume of the container.

Calculation example

An example is the calculation of a gas tank for a house of 200 m² with brick walls. It is assumed that during the heating season (about half a year), on average, about 25 liters of liquefied gas are burned per square meter of heated area. For a house of 200 m², 25 liters * 200 m² = 5000 liters are consumed during this period. This will be the required volume of the gas tank for this house.

The calculated volume may change if there are other gas consumers in the house besides the heating system - for example, a water heater or a gas stove. They "pull" quite a bit of gas, so you can add 15-20% of the resulting figure.

Boiler power calculation

There is another method for determining the volume of a gas tank, tied to the power of the heating boiler. It is usually assumed that the boiler should operate at about half its capacity or half the time. In this case, in the coldest period, he can easily cope with heating. In addition, this approach prolongs the life of the boiler (it does not work at the power limit, so it wears out more slowly). Therefore, the gas consumption is considered to be 50% of the boiler power.

Calculation example. There is a 22 kW boiler. For the calculation, we take half the power - it is necessary that the fuel produces 11 kW of heat. When burning one liter of liquefied gas, we get 12.5 kW of heat (for reference, if you know which gas you will use, take the calorific value of your fuel). The following is the calculation:

  • To get 11 kW, you need 11 kW: 12.5 kW/liter = 0.88 liters. This is the volume of gas required to operate the boiler for an hour.
  • To find out the daily volume, multiply by 24 hours: 0.88 l * 24 hours = 21.12 liters / day.
  • Monthly expense - the resulting figure is multiplied by 30 days. 21.12 l/day * 30 days = 720 liters/month.

Further, it will not be difficult to calculate the volume of a gas tank for a private house - count the number of months in the heating period, multiply. It is also worth making an adjustment depending on the efficiency of the boiler. For new boilers, this is not critical, but for old ones, the additive can be very significant. For example, if the boiler efficiency is 88%, you need to add 12% of the calculated volume.

Rules for placing gas tanks

The installation location of the gas tank depends on its volume, the area of heated housing, gas consumption and the customer's preferences regarding the microclimatic conditions in the premises. Sanitary rules and regulations (SanPiN) provide for such a distance from the gas tank to the residential building:

  • for aboveground tanks up to 5 cubic meters - 20 m;
  • for those located underground by 5–10 cubic meters. m - up to 30 m;
  • for above-ground storages for 10,000–20,000 liters - 40 m;
  • for underground gas tanks, the capacity of which is 10–50 m³ - from 10 to 20 m3.

Despite the fact that sanitary rules and regulations require the location of the gas storage no closer than 10 m from the building, sometimes they are placed at a distance of 5 meters - this should not be allowed. For mobile units, the minimum distance from the house to the gas tank is practically not regulated. Mobile equipment may be installed directly against the wall of the heated room.

There are rules for the placement of storage facilities depending on the climate, and for how to install a gas tank at high groundwater. The top of the underground installation and the pipelines extending from it should not be above the freezing point of the soil up to -20 ° C. The height of the gas tank neck should be above the groundwater level, and to protect against soil swelling, the installation is equipped with reinforcing rings.

Features of selection and installation

When choosing an installation for a private house, regardless of whether an underground vertical or above-ground horizontal gas tank is chosen for heating, they provide for a volume margin of at least 15–20%. After that, the calculated value is compared with the capacity of the options available on the market and the closest one (usually the next larger one) is selected.

On complex soils prone to heaving, a slab is made at the bottom of the pit, to which the container is “anchored”. This prevents the "surfacing" of a half-empty gas tank by spring

Ideally, all calculations and selection of equipment should be carried out by qualified specialists who can take into account all the requirements of the standards. These same people are involved in the calculation of estimates, allowing you to find out how much it costs to install a gas tank in a private house, and maintenance of already installed equipment, ensuring its smooth operation in the future.

You can solve the problem of gasification and make an autonomous heating system by installing a gas tank for a private house. Several important nuances will need to be taken into account: the principle of operation of the device, the type of construction, as well as the requirements for installation and its economy, compared with other alternative fuels.

Types of gas tanks for a country house

A gas tank is not only a storage of liquefied gas, as an ordinary consumer sometimes thinks. In fact, this is a whole station that converts liquefied gas into fuel suitable for the operation of the boiler and other gas equipment. The main advantage of the installation is absolute safety, subject to proper installation and compliance with safety requirements.

The principle of operation of the gas tank is as follows:

  1. Liquid gas is pumped into a container.
  2. Evaporation of a gaseous substance from the surface occurs.
  3. With the help of the reactor, a stable pressure is created in the gas distribution system.
  4. The gas enters the residential building.
As a rule, a gas tank is mounted for a cottage, country house or cottage, where they plan to live during the entire heating period. When choosing a gas supply station, first of all, it must be taken into account that there are several types of devices designed for different purposes and having certain design features.

Ground gas holder

Ground gas tanks are very popular in the EU countries, as their installation does not require global installation work. Installation is quick and does not require additional material investments.

For Russia, ground gas tanks are not a good choice, due to the severe cold in the winter season. Lowering the temperature affects the rate of evaporation of liquefied gas in the gas tank.

If it is necessary to install a surface storage, taking into account the weather conditions in the Russian Federation, it will be necessary to additionally install special evaporators, as well as spend money on insulating the tank body. For a constant gas supply to several large houses or the entire cottage village at once, spherical gas tank structures with a total capacity of up to 6000 m³ are used.

Underground gas holder

An underground gas tank ensures optimal performance by creating the necessary conditions for sufficient evaporation from the surface. The advantages include the following:
  • Large liquid evaporation area (mirrors).
  • The maximum filling volume of the tank is enough to fill the storage once a year to provide one or more buildings with gas.
  • Conditions are provided for constant evaporation of gas, without the use of additional devices. The body is installed in the ground below the freezing point.
Underground tanks are buried in the ground, which practically does not affect the appearance of the site and does not spoil the beauty of landscape design.

An underground gas holder can be simultaneously used for a cottage settlement for several private houses. The installer of the vessel must take care to prevent rupture of the walls as a result of high pressure on the vessel.

Mobile gas holder

Mobile storage is popular due to the possibility of quick installation and transportation of the station. The small size of the gas tank allows you to install it on a conventional car trailer and connect it directly to the gas exhaust system at home.

The transport gas tank kit includes:

  1. Reducer with adjustable outlet gas pressure.
  2. Pressure gauge.
  3. Tank level indicator.
The maximum fuel volume is not more than 500 liters, which allows the use of a gas tank for a house of 100 m². The main advantage of the mobile station is the connection speed, which takes only 1-2 minutes. A mini gas tank is most often used for a small dacha, where they live in the winter.

A small mobile gas tank for a cottage is refueled directly at gas filling stations, which allows the owner to choose a gas station with the best gas price.

Vertical gas holder

Vertical gasholders are not widely used due to the small evaporation surface and, accordingly, low productivity. To increase efficiency, two tanks are often installed at once, connected to one gearbox.

As an advantage of a vertical tank, pressure stability is singled out, independent of the degree of filling of the storage with liquefied gas. Italian manufacturers have slightly increased the performance of their devices by equipping the tanks with liquid heaters and evaporators. Ideal for a house of 150 m².

Horizontal gas tank

Horizontal metal containers are used to supply gas to large-area houses, one or more at the same time. The advantage of the devices is high performance as long as the tank is at least half full.

After reducing the volume of blue fuel by more than ⅔, the efficiency of the devices decreases sharply. To stabilize the operation and production of gas, the installation of a special reducer is required. Horizontal tanks are recommended for a house of 200 - 250 m².

How to choose a gas tank for the site

Autonomous heating of a private house with liquefied gas from a gas tank is a fairly economical, safe and reliable solution, especially in the absence of a central gas supply. When deciding to use this type of heating, the owner of a private country house will need to make several important decisions regarding the following points:
  • Profitability of a gas tank in comparison with electricity and other types of fuel.
  • Required tank volume.
  • container type.
  • Installation cost, etc.
From the correct answers to these questions, the productivity and efficiency of the station depends.

How much does it cost to heat a house with a gas tank

Since it is practically impossible to calculate the gas demand for an individual house from a gas tank in each specific case, for example, calculations can be made for a house of 200 m². This is done as follows:
  • The average gas consumption per month will be about 3.3 liters per m².
  • During the heating season (6 months), you will need to spend 20 liters. fuel per m².
  • The total cost will be 4000 l.
  • The cost for 1 liter ranges from 12 to 15 rubles / liter.
  • During the heating season, you will have to spend 60,000 rubles, or 10,000 rubles / month.
Gas consumption from a gas tank for heating a house depends on the number of appliances powered by this fuel (columns, stoves, etc.), as well as.

How to calculate the volume of a gas tank

The selection of a gas tank for a cottage must begin with the selection of a suitable tank volume. In this case, certain features of the installation should be taken into account. To heat a house of 200 m², 4000 liters are required.

The volume of installation is selected depending on the configuration.

  • The volume of the horizontal gas tank should be 15-20% larger than the minimum required amount of fuel to ensure sufficient performance after the amount of fuel is reduced by ⅔.
  • The volume of vertical storage is selected with a small margin, approximately 10%. Design features allow you to maintain a stable pressure until the tank is completely empty.

Accurate calculations on the required volume of the station should be made by the organization involved in the installation of gas-holder heating systems.

Which gas tank is better to use - vertical or horizontal

To install a gas tank in a small country house, it is better to choose a mobile or vertical station. As a rule, it is not necessary to install a horizontal tank for houses smaller than 100 m². Vertical gas holders are less productive, but maintain a stable pressure in the gas supply system.

In houses starting from 150 m², it is preferable to install horizontal stations. They are able, if necessary, to provide enough gas to several buildings at the same time.

In addition to technical characteristics, one should take into account the design features of the site: the area and configuration of the local area. Since the minimum distance from a gas tank to a residential building is at least 10 m, sometimes the technical conditions do not allow the installation of horizontal storage, even if this is necessary.

In the latter case, autonomous gasification of LPG is carried out using two vertical tanks connected to one gearbox.

The cost of installing a gas tank on the site

The total cost of connecting and introducing gas from the gas tank into the house depends on the contractor, the cost of building materials and the region where construction is planned.

To calculate the cost of installation, you need to calculate the following:

  1. The cost of a gas tank for a private house.
  2. Preparatory work.
  3. Installation and connection.
The cost of the station without components will be from 100-190 thousand rubles. Installing a gas tank in a turnkey cottage will cost around 300,000 rubles. (including tank).

Additional costs are associated with the anode-cathode protection of the tank against corrosion. The costs are repaid by increasing the service life of the product several times over.

Should I buy a used gas tank?

The weak point of all gas tanks is their body, which is subjected to constant pressure. In some modern high-capacity gas supply stations, an internal stress of 18 atm is created.

The service life of a gas tank directly depends on the ability of the body to maintain tightness. Considering that the metal is negatively affected by the environment, used gas containers are extremely unreliable when reinstalled.

The obvious disadvantages of purchasing a used gas tank are the following:

  • Impossibility of installation in accordance with safety requirements.
  • High probability of failure.
  • Short service life.
Relatively recently, a gas tank rental service has appeared. This made it possible to use the station in cases where the building is planned to be heated for a short time.

When buying a used station, you can order diagnostics of gas tank equipment. This service will allow you to accurately determine the condition of the tank and indicate possible malfunctions.

Is it possible to install a gas tank in a private area

The safety rules for the operation of stations for the storage of liquid gas allow the use of gas holders and install them in a private area, subject to the recommendations of the PB. In particular, the following is stipulated:
  • There must be no increased gas pressure in the system and the possibility of oxygen ingress.
  • The equipment must be grounded. If lightning strikes the tank or static electricity appears, it will be possible to avoid an explosion.
  • The presence of serviceable sensors that signal the presence of a gas leak.
By following these instructions, the danger of a gas tank explosion is reduced to almost zero.

Where should the gas tank be located on the site

The location of the storage tank for liquefied gas is based on several important factors.
  • Free access to the tank - the tank must be filled 1-2 times a year. Vehicles must have free access to the tank. In this case, the horizontal gas holder is positioned in such a way that the structure does not pass under the road and does not experience load.
  • fire safety requirements. The storage container is placed in such a way that at least 10 meters are left from the buildings. The pipeline is laid in the ground and goes either to the basement, or in the absence of such, directly in front of the building.
  • Requirements for the placement of a gas tank from a neighboring land plot. The PB prescribes to observe the standard distance from a neighboring house of 20 m (volume from 20-50 m³), or 10 m (no more than 10 m³).
  • The distance to the track must be at least 5 m.

Safety standards for the installation of a gas tank

Norms and procedures have been developed that describe in detail the requirements for the installation of gas tanks, as well as the supply gas pipeline. Compliance with the rules is necessary for the safe operation of the device.
  • Registration. Registering a gas tank with Rostekhnadzor is required only if the installation does not have certification and there are no operating permits. When purchasing factory equipment, a package of necessary documents is provided for it, so there is no need for additional registration. Installation requires certification documents and a permit to operate.
  • Location. SNIP for the installation of a gas tank on the site requires compliance with the following instructions. The upper point of the tank should not be higher than 60 cm from the ground surface. The container should be installed on special paws located on the body.
  • After installation, it is necessary to provide visual access to the plate with the serial number and series of the tank.
  • If there is a high probability of “circulation of currents” and static electricity in the area in the ground, it is necessary to protect the steel structure of the tank from corrosion using special protection.
  • Standards and rules for installing a vertical gas tank require deepening most of the tank below the freezing level of the soil.
It is better to place the gas tank on the site relative to the house away from the transport entrance and footpaths, from the side of the room in which the boiler is located.

What documents are required to install a gas tank

According to the current legislation, it is not required to obtain permission from Rostekhnadzor to install a gas tank. Rostekhnadzor registers exclusively industrial installations with a capacity of over 10 m³. The owner of the site does not even have to inform the neighbors about the installation of a gas tank, of course, provided that the construction will not take place on their land area.

To avoid further misunderstandings, it is recommended to have the following package of documents:

  1. Quality certificate.
  2. Permission to operate.

The advantage of purchasing a turnkey gas tank is that the organization taking responsibility for the installation collects all the necessary documentation if necessary and subsequently continues to service and refuel the station.

    What foundation is needed

A concrete pad must be poured under the gas tank. In this case, the plate must comply with the following standards:
    • Should be full bodied. When pouring the foundation, it is important to ensure that there are no voids. Vibrating machines are used to compact concrete.
    • The thickness of the plate is the minimum allowable size of 15-20 cm.
    • Reinforcement - it is recommended to strengthen the foundation by first making a metal knitted frame from steel reinforcement.
Before installing the tank, from the time of pouring, the slab must stand for a month. If necessary, to give concrete additional strength characteristics, special additives are used.

How to bring gas from a gas tank to the house

Serious requirements are also imposed on the installation of the gas pipeline, stipulating the distance to nearby objects, highways, etc., stipulating the sanitary standards of the installation. In particular, it states:
    • The distance to the foundation of the building is at least 2 meters.
    • The intersection of communications and a gas pipe is 2 m in height.
    • The depth of the gas pipeline is at least 1.5 m.
    • A slope of 1 cm is allowed for each m.
    • All metal parts in contact with the ground are subjected to additional waterproofing.
    • Be sure to install a condensate collector.
    • The ground input must be factory-made and have mandatory certification.
    • The location of communications in a private house, given the installation of a gas tank, should start from the basement. A gas boiler is installed at the inlet, from which the pipe diverges to the remaining gas consumption units.
Before starting installation work, in the foundation of the house for connecting pipes from the gas tank, you need to prepare openings for entering the building.

Which pipe to carry gas to the house

To connect the gas tank to a private house, it is necessary to install a gas pipeline. SNiP separately stipulates the requirements for the pipe used and the quality of the installation.
    • For laying in the ground, only polyethylene pipe PE 100 is used.
    • The procedure for carrying out installation work includes the use of fixed joints, using electrofusion and butt welding.

For work, a polyethylene pipe specially designed for liquefied carbon gas is used.
