Thieves have learned to open a mechanical lock of any complexity for a long time. It is more difficult with a combination lock, but they find ways to get around all its secrets.

However, the lock can only be opened if the location of the unlocking device, such as a keyhole, a door keypad, etc., is known.

Understanding this, stealth locks without a keyhole and keys were developed, where the unlocking devices are made in the form of coded or infrared key fobs, GPS radio telephones, etc.

It would seem that it would be impossible to open such a lock. However, they open.

For example, they scan the key fob code with special devices. They learned to do everything, even ATMs are robbed by reading the code of a bank card.

All these systems have a common drawback: the device (key, key fob, etc.) is concentrated in one place, having determined which, the thief opens the lock.

Picking up a key for him is not a problem, picking up a code too, the key fob can be scanned.

The proposed lock differs from the known ones in that the unlocking elements of the lock (hereinafter referred to as the keys) are separated, duplicated many times, and the lock can only be opened when all the keys are activated.

Since the keys can be spaced a considerable distance, this lock is especially convenient for summer cottages, where thieves most often hunt.

One of the keys can be placed, for example, in a separate toilet. It would never occur to anyone that, having visited the toilet, a person opened the house.

I can hardly imagine how such a lock can be opened without knowing the number, principle of operation of spaced keys and their location, especially since the lock itself is not visible from the outside of the door.

Design and principle of operation

The lock (Fig. 1) consists of a body 1, in which an electric motor 2 of DC DPR 42 12v is placed. 2500 rpm, which is connected by screw 5 with crossbar 3.

Screw thread pitch 0.3…0.5 mm. At rated engine speed, the deadbolt moves 20 mm. in one or two seconds.

The lock closes and opens with a simple click.

There is an annular groove on the bolt, into which balls 8 fall when it moves. The balls serve as a transmission link between the bolt and microswitches 6 and 7. The microswitches are designed to stop the engine. When the next ball hits the groove, the corresponding switch turns off the engine. The distance between the switches determines the travel of the bolt. Pin 4 prevents the bolt from rotating.

To close the lock, you need to close the door tightly. In this case, the previously open blocking contact K1 closes (Fig. 3)

Contact K1, these are two metal plates fixed on the door and one closing on the door jamb. (Fig.4).

The contact prevents the possibility of closing the lock with an open or not tightly closed . After closing the door, you need to press the K5 button located on the outside of the door. In this case, the relay P is activated, switches the contacts KR1 and KR2 to the position shown in Figure 3 and turns on the motor M.

After one or two seconds, the motor will move the bolt to the position shown in Figure 5 and open contact K3. Relay P will be de-energized, contacts KR1 and KR2 will take a neutral position and turn off the engine. Fig.6. The castle will be closed.

After the lock is closed, button 5 is disabled by contact K3. Any manipulations with this button that may interest a thief, long presses or even a broken wire will not prevent you from opening the lock and repairing the damage.

To open the lock, you need to connect (short-circuit) the points of circuit A and B (Fig. 7).

You can do this in various ways. For example, turn on the contact of the K4 toggle switch and bring the magnet to the GK reed switch. (Fig.7).

The reed switch can be hidden under the door trim. Or use ordinary lighting as K4. If you screw in the lamp, the circuit will close. There are many options. There is a wide field for imagination here. Only one thing matters. It is necessary to spread the keys (serially connected elements) away and, if possible, disguise them.

The phase of opening the lock is shown in Figure 7. After turning on the engine, the bolt (Fig. 1) that has moved to the open state will open contact K2 and turn off the motor.

The door can now be opened by opening contact K1. The circuit returned to its initial state (Fig. 2). By closing the door and pressing K5, you can close the door again according to the algorithm described above.

Note

For the correct operation of the lock, the direction of rotation of the motor must match the direction of the screw thread 5. For a right-hand thread, in the opening phase of the lock, the motor must rotate counterclockwise when viewed from the shaft side.

Many car owners prefer to make a garage lock with their own hands. It is more difficult to find a key or a master key for it, its design is individual and takes into account all the design features of the gate. Below we will talk about the main types of locks that you can make with your own hands.

The padlock

The simplest type of lock for garage doors, which you can make yourself from the materials at hand, is a homemade padlock. It consists of a body with a screw, a locking pin and a key.

For the manufacture of constipation, carbon hardened steel is used. It has enough strength to withstand an attempt to bite or knock down the lock with a blow. Two holes perpendicular to each other are drilled in the steel cylinder of the body. One is for a screw key, the other is for a lock.

For a long time this type of constipation was very popular. It was placed not only in garage doors, but also used for gates of private houses, in the doors of utility rooms, pantries and in cellar hatches.

The advantage that a screw lock has over a padlock is that it is hidden from external influences behind the surface of the door. It is harder to disassemble and almost impossible to bring down.

The mechanism consists of four components: a key, a screw, an external bracket and a bracket with an internal thread. For the manufacture you need a lathe and a welding machine. A drawing of such constipation can be easily found in the reference literature.

The outer and inner brackets are made of hardened metal with a thickness of at least 3 mm. The body of the lock with an internal thread (fastened inside) and the outer body of the lock are welded to them.

Some craftsmen create their own versions of the lock with a secret, combining hinged and screw options. The sequence of opening them is as follows. First, the outer version is unlocked, it opens the key to the second, inner screw. Locks for garage doors of this type are very popular among car owners as simple and reliable.

In addition, locks are combined with additional protection in the form of a padlock with a monolithic body. They complicate the hacking process.

More perfect is the model of the lock, which the owners of garages among themselves call "with a falling key." This system got its name due to the key device that locks the mechanism.

Making it yourself is more difficult than the models described above. But, with a certain skill and the availability of tools and materials, it is possible. To do this, you need three metal plates: two for the brackets, one for the latch (bolt). Slots are made on the heck.

The next step is to make the drum. It is shaped like a gear wheel. By the way, the garage lock of this type itself operates on the principle of gear transmission. It is better to order it from specialists who have special gear cutting machines.

A key hole is drilled in the center of the drum. And in the key itself, a slot is made into which a pin with protrusions is inserted, identical to the holes made in the side surface of the drum. As a result, only the original thorn can open such homemade products.

The system works simply. A key with a pin deployed along the axis is inserted into the hole. After passing through, the pin falls out (hence the name). Turning the key, we get the protrusions into the holes, and the lock opens.

Garage locks of this type can also be bought ready-made, but many craftsmen prefer to tinker to create their own unique lock combination.

There are no visible locks or keyholes on the door, and it does not open, as if locked from the inside. Having become acquainted with her secret, one can say so, since there really is a latch on the other side of the door. But it is locked ... from the outside, although at first glance it is not clear how.
The secret is “hidden” in the hex head of a furniture bolt, lost among the heads of screws on the surface of the door. Insert a hex wrench into it and make it half a turn - the door will immediately open.

The fact is that at the other end of the bolt, on the other side of the door, a simple latch rail is mounted. When the bolt head is turned, the latch repeats its movement, locking or releasing the door.

It is not difficult to make such a secret constipation, it is accessible to everyone. On the shank of the furniture bolt, using a needle file or file, a flat flat is made, on which a steel rail-latch is installed, which has a slot for the flat of the bolt.

First, a through hole is drilled in the door under the threaded part of the bolt body, and then with a thicker drill - a recess under its head so that it is sunk into it flush with the surface of the door. On the opposite side of the door, two washers are put on the bolt, which are pressed with a screw-on nut so that the bolt head is drowned. A rail-latch is put on the flat of the latter with its slot and tightly tightened with a second nut. That's it, the secret lock is ready.

The main advantage of DIY locks is that they are unique in nature. Professional burglars do not stand still. They have long studied many schemes for the operation of factory constipation and can easily open almost any one.

Options for mechanisms for a garage with a secret

There are several approaches to making a lock with a secret for a garage:

The simplest type of secret for a garage is mechanical. So, let's look at a few of these options:

  • production of a key of an unusual shape and type. It should be understood that today the device of almost all factory locks is not a special secret. In addition, through various Internet sites, you can order almost any master key for a particular lock. Therefore, the production of a key of a unique type will have a very good result;
  • a lock with a special device. Often you can make a lock and do not need a key at all. Its principle of operation will be that it will open only according to a pre-thought-out combination of turns of the device;
  • you can also combine a standard lock with a lever lock. This option is very effective, simple and reliable.

Additionally, it should be noted that a do-it-yourself garage lock should not be visible from the street, and at the same time have an armored deadbolt. There are electric locks of this type that can be controlled from a distance. They are distinguished by a high level of efficiency, since this lock cannot be opened by anything.

Also, an electric lock can be combined with a conventional, mechanical one. In this case, the protection will be two levels. First, the burglar will try to break the padlock, and even if he succeeds, he will face another obstacle in the form of an electric one. And here it will be difficult to cope.

REFERENCE. The hidden electric lock with radio control has the highest protection. As a key, a keychain is used here, which has a specific code. When you try to open such a lock, the receiver determines the correspondence of the entered code with the one that was originally set and opens the lock.

For additional protection, the code can be changed every day, that is, a one-time password is used. This approach is called anti-scanning.

We make a tricky design with our own hands: step by step instructions

So, we present step-by-step instructions for making a garage lock with a latch that will move using a special key that has original features.

First you need to prepare all the details necessary for the construction of a makeshift castle:

  1. at the very beginning it is necessary to make the very foundation of the castle. It is a metal plate with a thickness of not more than three millimeters and a diameter of about 10 millimeters;
  2. from the same metal we cut out two more plates that will serve as overlays. Their width and length should be 22 and 120 millimeters, respectively;
  3. prepared lining must be bent with a vice;
  4. proceed to the manufacture of the valve for the castle;
  5. then we prepare a tube for the lock key with a diameter of about 10 mm. One end of the tube should be cut at an angle of 60 degrees.

Assembling a lock with a secret:

  1. First you need to weld the lining to the base.

    REFERENCE. If there is a deformation of the parts during the welding process, then they must be straightened. If the distortions are small, then they can be removed already during the installation of the lock on the gate.

  2. Drill four holes in the corners of the plate. They are needed to attach the lock to the gate.
  3. The guide tube should be inserted into a hole with a diameter of 10 millimeters made in the plate. Attach the bevel to the overlays.
  4. Weld the tube perpendicularly to the base of the lock.
  5. Next, insert the valve of the future lock between the overlays.
  6. In the valve itself, install 2 screws with a size of at least M4 and a length of about 8 millimeters. These screws will restrict the movement of the valve. Washers on a spring should be placed under their heads.
  7. Next, we proceed to prepare the key.

So, the key should be about 8 millimeters in diameter and about 150 millimeters long. One of its ends should be bent at an angle of 90 degrees, and on the other side a cut is made at an angle of 60 degrees.

The secret of the lock lies in the fact that it makes a hole for the key in the latch either lower or higher, while the gap can be 1 millimeter. In this case, the lock will have a large number of ways to establish "secrecy". To do this, the owner has the ability to change size 12 in sizes that are acceptable.

Thus, the owner of the garage, who has at least a small amount of imagination and desire, can provide reliable protection for his property and vehicle without effort and extra investments.

Of course, you can resort to installing the latest locks with complex mechanisms or even put the garage on guard. However, in practice, many remedies are not as effective as they are positioned.

This is already an electronic part of the device, in terms of functionality it is not much inferior to a personal computer. The block is fastened inside the dwelling and connected to the invisible lock, fixed on the front door, using a “loop”. Types of hidden locks

Their device is almost identical, with the only difference being that there may be some differences in the circuit, the brand of the electric motor, and so on, that is, in minor nuances. Therefore, stealth locks are classified (and purely conditionally) not according to a number of parameters, like analogues of other varieties, but only according to the specifics of the application.

Home models

One of the simplest in both design and use of samples. They resemble ordinary locks, since the operation is the same - when the door is closed, the tongue gets into the slot of the bar and holds the door in a fixed position. Electronics is needed only to open it.

Hidden stealth locks of this group are divided into the ZN (overhead) and ZV (mortise) series and are not so expensive, and therefore are available to all categories of citizens. It is not worth explaining that with the advent of any new product, the market is immediately filled with its “clones” from little-known manufacturers; It is obvious. But if an ordinary lock can be evaluated according to a number of criteria - the strength of the case, the degree of secrecy, and so on - then it is more difficult with hidden analogues. Their “highlight” is in the electronic circuit, or rather, in its complexity and originality. Feeling, examining the invisible from all sides is pointless. Visual diagnostics will not say anything about the quality of the sample or the level of security of the door. What to pay attention to?
