Curd potato casserole in the oven. Potato casserole with cottage cheese

An interesting tasting cottage cheese casserole of potatoes, meat, with the addition of fried onions and grated hard cheese. Cottage cheese adds tenderness to the potato casserole and the dish acquires a creamy taste. A very satisfying second course that is good to eat in the morning and lunchtime.

Cooking potatoes

We start preparing the casserole by boiling the potatoes. To make the potatoes less watery, wash them thoroughly, fill them with cold water and boil them in their skins until fully cooked. We check the readiness of the potatoes by piercing them with a table fork or a wooden skewer; if the tool enters the body of the tuber easily, then the potatoes are ready. Drain the water and cool the potatoes, peel off the skins, place in an enamel pan or bowl and, using a potato masher, mash the potatoes to a paste.

Beat chicken eggs into mashed potatoes, add table salt and ground black pepper, mix well.

Preparing the ingredients

Peel and chop the onion, saute it in vegetable fat in a frying pan until transparent.

Cut the ham into fairly small cubes.

Cottage cheese in the casserole can be used at any fat content and any grain size.

Stir ham, fried onions, and cottage cheese into the potato mixture.

Baking

We level the semi-finished cottage cheese casserole with potatoes in a heat-resistant form greased with vegetable fat.

Place the mold in the oven heated to 200 0 C and bake.

We grate the hard cheese on a fine grater and after about twenty minutes we pour it over our casserole and put it in the oven again, wait until the cheese crumbs melt and we get a ruddy, tanned crust.

Cut the hot cottage cheese casserole with potatoes into portions and invite everyone to the table!

Potato casserole with cottage cheese, the recipe for which we decided to offer you, is a delicious simple dish. You can easily cook it in a frying pan. The filling can be anything, but we decided to make cottage cheese.

Casserole ingredients:
- 4 medium potatoes,
- a third of the onion,
- salt,
- ground black pepper,

Filling ingredients:
- tomato sauce,
- curd cheese or cottage cheese.

We will also need a little olive oil during the cooking process.

Recipe with photos step by step:

Wash the potatoes, peel them and grate them on a medium-sized grater. Salt.

Leave the grated potatoes for 5 minutes to release the juice and starch. After this, drain the juice. You can repeat the procedure. We don't need excess moisture and starch.

Chop the onion very finely and add to the potatoes. Pepper and mix everything.

Spread half of the potato mixture in an even layer on a greased frying pan.
Since the potato-curd casserole will need to be turned over, a double frying pan (one of which serves as a lid) is best suited. Turning the casserole in such a pan will not be difficult.

Spread the filling, leaving the edges free.

Spread the rest of the potato mixture over the filling, trying to cover it completely, and also press the edges well.
Place on medium heat, cover with a lid and wait for 20 minutes.
Then turn the casserole over to the other side and bake for another 15 minutes. This time I didn't grease the pan with oil and still got a nice crust.

Remove the casserole from the pan by turning it over a plate.
The dish is ready, serve hot.
Bon appetit!
