Plants with a smaller predetermined distance can be planted with the written consent of the owner of the neighboring plot. Frame structures with ceilings made of non-combustible materials such as metal tiles or corrugated board have III degree of fire resistance. When erecting them, it is necessary to maintain a distance of 10-12 meters to the fence.

So for buildings with an increased fire hazard, the arrangement of which involves the provision of the necessary communications, the distance to the fence should be 5 meters. In this case, the distance to the neighboring residential building must be at least 8 meters. In order to create conditions under which it is possible to reduce the distance from the outer fence to the same bath, experts strongly advise to equip the sewer for drainage.

No one will enjoy being close to a neighbor's restroom. And open-air cages for livestock or poultry houses can cause a lot of concerns related to the drainage of wastewater into the soil layer. Therefore, even with the observance of the required distance to the fence, such buildings should be placed at a distance of up to 12 meters from the neighboring house.



In the outbuildings adjacent to the house, in accordance with fire regulations, a separate entrance must be provided. But then, when determining the optimal distance, you should take greatest value protruding architectural elements: canopy, roof, porch. In addition, when arranging a roof slope, even if it is 1 m away from the boundary, it must be directed towards your yard. These norms are equally applicable to buildings located in both adjacent territories.

Since the fence itself can be bulky, the distance should be measured from the border to the basement of the house.

An important point: if the thickness of the fence does not exceed 10 cm, then it can be safely placed in the middle of the boundary line. If you are building a heavier and cumbersome enclosing structure, the fence must be shifted towards your property. It is allowed to "capture" only 5 cm of the total thickness of the fence being erected from the neighboring territory.

Many owners of suburban areas are more loyal to the issue of observing sanitary indents. Nevertheless, they should be taken into account, since unforeseen problems may arise when changing the form of ownership or selling a plot.

Among the most common causes of such conflicts, it is worth highlighting:

  • the fence goes far into the neighboring territory;
  • during the construction of the fence, the norms for observing the lighting of the site were not taken into account, as a result of which the neighboring site became shaded.

Many people mistakenly believe that an external fence can be erected without formal conventions. In fact, regarding the dimensions of the enclosing structures, the building rules are mostly of a recommendatory nature.

The material used in the manufacture of external fences is not regulated by building codes. Also, the distance between the support posts of the fence is not strictly regulated.

Fences are divided into two types:

When it comes to the fence between adjacent sites, then in this matter SNiPs are more accurate: the height of the fence should be within one meter. And to mark the boundaries, you can install fences that do not create shading and do not interfere with air exchange above the soil surface. This means that the bottom of the fence must be well ventilated. The best option is a picket fence, lattice fence or chain-link fence, but not a fence made of a solid canvas such as a shield fence or a picket fence.

It is allowed to equip fences from hedges, supplemented with mesh and forged elements, to mark the boundaries between adjacent areas.

But there are a number of circumstances under which permission will have to be obtained to build a permanent fence. Coordination will be required in case:

  • if the site borders on a public area and a protected area with architectural monuments;
  • if it is necessary to erect a fence on a retaining wall, which reaches a height of 2.5 meters.

Do not rush to build a permanent fence if the boundaries of your site are not yet included in the state cadastral plan.
