What can be built in Minecraft - instructions and tips. How to build a beautiful house in Minecraft How to make different buildings in Minecraft

There are many houses of the same type in Minecraft, although building them is an excellent opportunity to show your creativity and imagination.

Stage 1 - assessment of available resources

The size and scope of construction largely depends on the resources available to the Minecraft resident. But even from a basic set you can create a beautiful and functional home.

Stage 2 - search for a place

A house is a repository of resources and a reflection of the owner’s imagination; its location depends on the nature of the building - whether it will be a luxurious mansion/castle or a place hidden from griefers. We deceive robber players using several simple placement methods:

The glass platform in the air is inconspicuous and easy to defend. To do this, we build a high pillar with a glass floor on it, break the base and get a house floating in the air.

Construction underwater will take a lot of time if there is no air bubble available. When using the potion of underwater breathing, a glass house is created in a matter of minutes, after which it can be dried with a sponge.

Masking in texture involves creating a room in a tree or mountain. You can build a house on a hill and cover it with lava, after making a secret passage into the room.

Visual deception: the griefer finds a dilapidated empty house and does not pay attention to it, although a whole treasure may be hidden underground.

Stage 3 - preliminary design

The construction of a house is determined by its visual appeal and functionality. Both of these components must be in harmony with each other in order to be admired and to be a reliable repository.

We provide an aesthetic component:

    using the surrounding texture, we create cozy houses by the lake, in the mountains, under fiery lava or a waterfall;

    large glass windows or a completely glass house looks more attractive than the same structure made of opaque materials;

We provide several floors of the building.

We create a practical room using the following elements:

    labyrinths - they frighten and surprise, you can hide in them or make secret rooms;

a dungeon/cellar is an excellent place for valuable resources, hidden even from the eyes of friends.

Stage 4 - building a house

We begin construction by determining the perimeter of the house, after which we build the walls, leaving space for doors and windows. If necessary, we build another floor and decorate the floor. We complete the construction by constructing a roof and a fence/hedge. After this, the interior space is designed and adjusted.

Stage 5 - protection

To fully protect resources, we will privatize the territory on which the house is located. This is done with an axe, by placing 2 blocks diagonally and clicking on the first block with the mouse left and right click on the second. After this, the height and depth of the territory are noted and the command is entered /region claim Name.

For those who don’t want to do construction themselves, maybe in the style of High Tech and Modern.

10. Build an animal farm

Animal farms are very useful - you can breed animals and collect animal products, which will give you a lot of wool and other cool things.

Creating everything you can out of wood is a great way to save resources, because in this way you will have a constant supply of wood - after all, you will grow trees almost non-stop, but you will never use them.

13. Create all possible stone devices

Same thing - and don't forget that if you have a cobblestone and stone generator, then mining the stone will become even easier.

14. Create all possible iron devices

Creating everything you can out of iron is very useful, because iron tools are famous for their service life, and you can dig mines with them!

Also you can use bones to train wolves :)

30. Dig right under yourself

62. Record a video

Recording a video and posting it on YouTube is the best way to show everyone what you have achieved in Minecraft.

64. Build a working Redstone TV and watch it

It may not look like a normal television, but think about what you can't build!

65. Have a building competition with your friends

This can definitely be fun. One of your friends can be a judge, the other two build the same building, and then the judge decides who did better! The only thing to remember is that the judge should not know whose house is in front of him.

66. Make a whole comic out of pixel art

I've never seen anyone do this, but it's a good idea, right? Make your own comic or recreate something you love.

Oh, this is a tough test, good luck! Use anything except dynamite.

73. Change your skin

A different skin will help you stand out from other players.

74. Try shooting a bow while spinning in place.

In fact, it is very difficult, because it is impossible to aim, and your target is never in one place.

75. Find a mine shaft

You can find a lot of useful things in the mine shaft, from bread to diamond tools.

76. Find a temple in the jungle

The jungle temples are as rich a deposit as the mines, and there are many diamonds and emeralds here.

77. Find all biomes

When you do this, you will gain a huge advantage, because each biome has something interesting that you have not seen before. Beacons are good at pointing to your home when you're at a long distance, so I'd suggest building one ASAP!

83. Run around

Running is cool! I usually just run forward until I find something interesting or a place to build a house.

84. Build an elevator

What better way to get to tree houses and sky headquarters than by elevator?

When you start your own server, you can play with your friends without any problems. And, by the way, there is nothing complicated about this.

Just to show off.

93. Build a monument to your idol

What better way to show your appreciation to someone than by building their monument in Minecraft? :)

94. Play Walls

Walls is another great game map!

95. Do griefing

Of course, this is not the best thing to do, but if you are really that bored, and you have nothing against hatred, then go ahead - attack the first server you come across and destroy everything you see. Just don't touch your friends and their villages!

96. Set goals for yourself to achieve.

For example, select a few items from this list and try to complete them as soon as possible.

97. Play Minecraft in Hardcore mode

Hardcore mode is even harder than Survival because you only have one life - see how long you can stay alive. GOOD LUCK!

98. Play Minecraft in Survival Mode

Playing Minecraft this way is the easiest way, because the main thing is to survive.

99. Play Survival Island

Survival Island is another cool game map, so enjoy!

100. Play the Sky Block card

Last but not least, the card is Sky Block.

Making a house is one of the most basic tasks of your virtual character. A residential building provides him with reliable protection from creepers, and accordingly allows him to survive in the game world of Minecraft.

Looking at a built house, you can always tell about the player’s level of wealth. As a result, everyone strives to build houses as best as possible. The coolest is considered to be the mechanical one, in which almost everything is automated.

When traveling, it is best to build quickly constructed houses from available, cheap resources (only for overnight stays). Naturally, such a house has its drawbacks:

  • strong noise from minecraft creepers;
  • low strength.

Types of houses

There are the following types of typical buildings in Minecraft:

  1. man-made underground cave;
  2. from stone blocks;
  3. mushroom;
  4. tree building;
  5. cottage (estate);
  6. lock;
  7. underwater.

Let's look at them in order of listing...

To make it you need a shovel and a pickaxe. For about 30 seconds. the user will be able to build this type of home. First you will need to find a cave or earthen place on the minecraft map. Next, dig a dugout for the rescue and overnight stay of your game character in the craft world.

The advantages of such a dwelling are that it can be quickly built and initially protected from unfriendly mobs. The disadvantages are, naturally, low strength.

To make such a house, you need a mushroom (preference is given to red), bone meal, and a small amount of blocks from other materials. The time to grow such a building will take no more than 10-15 seconds. Construction is very simple - the mushroom is fed with bone meal to the size desired by the user. Afterwards, you need to attach a ladder to it and start settling in.

The advantage of such construction is speed and low cost. The negative point is weak resistance to explosion.

In order to build, you need up to 3 stacks of stone blocks, up to 30 stele blocks or glass panels. You can make such housing in about 10 minutes. Relatively easy to build. First, a kind of square (rectangle) in the form of a cube (parallelepiped) is built from blocks. Next, install glass doorways and glass window openings.

The house is good because it is highly durable and fireproof. Another significant convenience is that the house can be easily converted into a mechanical one, which will be original and practical at the same time.
The negative qualities of this project are: - typicality (many gamers are building it in the minecraft sandbox).

In order to build a house of this type, you need up to 3 stacks of blocks, glass and double-glazed windows, and a fairly large number of stairs. When construction begins, it is possible to climb the tree using vines.
Construction time will take up to 15 minutes, not counting the time to find a suitable tree. You can make it on a large oak (2 by 2 blocks) or tropical wood. They ascend the wooden house using ladders.

The advantage of this type of housing is that it is actually the most effective protection against mobs in the minecraft sandbox. This type of house is very beautiful. The only downside to such a building is the complex construction process.

To make this object, you need to collect up to 4 stacks of building materials of sufficient strength, glass and double-glazed windows. We build it in no more than 4 hours. Building is not easy. The simplest project is made of stone with a separate farm and shaft, surrounded by a wall. Beautiful, looks from the outside. the positive side of such an object is the maximum degree of security. The disadvantages of this project include the long construction time and the requirement of a large amount of building materials.

It is necessary to prepare up to 50 stacks of durable building materials. It takes a very long time to build – up to several days. Construction is complex and the difficulty lies in its scale. However, the undoubted advantage of such a residential building is its stylishness. A user who has a lock of this kind acquires a certain status.
The advantage of the minecraft castle is that:

  • a lot of free space;
  • complete invulnerability of a virtual game character in Minecraft;
  • further it can be modified to mechanical;
  • beauty of the structure.

Users consider the disadvantages: long-term use; creepers appear in basements over time.

Underwater

To build this object, stock up on a lot of glass, time and nerves. The construction time will be no less than several days. It is relatively difficult to build. The positive aspects of such housing:

  • always have fish at hand;
  • with the right lighting, only octopuses will spawn near the house;
  • the inside is very beautiful;
  • relatively safe.

The disadvantages of living underwater in Minecraft include:

  • it is very difficult to expand underwater in minecraft;
  • if one block breaks, then flooding is quite possible;
  • the difficulty of converting it to a mechanical type due to the fact that the mechanisms will be difficult to install.

This article provides examples of building some types of structures that can be created in Minecraft. Please note that creativity is not limited to the list of buildings presented below. Only the most commonly used template buildings are presented here.

Conventionally, all the structures below are divided into three main categories:

  • Residential premises (buildings intended for permanent residence);
  • Utilitarian premises (buildings with a specific purpose: lighthouses, subways, mines);
  • Defensive structures (buildings created for your protection: walls, ditches, mines)

Living spaces

The first thing a person does is look for resources and convenient deposits of minerals. And he is so carried away by this that he does not notice how night comes, and with it hostile monsters. To protect yourself from them, you should build yourself a house.

Very easy/easy

These shelters can be built in a short period of time and require almost no materials. An excellent choice for the first night or temporary stay. It is also useful if you get lost at night and crowds of monsters are chasing you.

Emergency shelter

Step 1: Dig a 1x1x3 hole.

Step 2. Jump into it.

Step 3: Close the top and place the torch.

Needed: nothing.
Time: about 3 seconds.
Difficulty: very easy.
Dig 3 blocks below you and place one block above you. That's it, you're safe!

"Advantages: "

  • quick and easy to do
  • relatively safe (safer than sleeping outside)
  • if you have a pickaxe/shovel, you can continue to dig down and make a pretty decent mine

"Flaws: "

  • little space
  • easy to miss the dawn (countermeasure: crafting a clock, a hatch, glass instead of a block at the top)
  • almost nothing to do

Conclusion: for emergencies only.

"Additional:" can be expanded to include a bed and a workbench. Can also be used for a break: you were hunting monsters, your sword is almost broken, you are badly wounded and hungry - you just dig into the ground, set up a workbench, create a sword, eat supplies, wait until your health is restored, dig out - and go back into battle ! Helps against killer griefers (if you crouch).

Pillars

It doesn't look very nice.

But sometimes the view is simply breathtaking.

Needed: about 20 blocks of any material.
Time: 10 sec.
Difficulty: very easy.
One of the simplest and at the same time the most unreliable way to spend the night. We take about 20 blocks and build a pillar from them directly below us. You should be on top of the pillar. If the pillar is more than 20 blocks in height, then skeletons They won't be able to hit you.

"Advantages: "

  • can be built in about 10 seconds
  • good overview of the area
  • if expanded, you can add a bed
  • easy to see, which is why it can be used as a beacon
  • if you have onion, you can shoot at mobs and then collect drop

"Flaws: "

Conclusion: It’s worth building only in extreme cases, when you have nowhere to hide in the middle of the night.

"Additional:" can be expanded and a bed can be installed. Also, if you have a lot gravel and you need flint, then you can build a gravel pillar on top and dig it all night. Pros: production is continuous, high processing speed. Cons: Some gravel and flint may fall down. Trick: to protect any wall from spiders, just make the last block or two facing out. clingy mobs easily climb vertical supports, but cannot pass along the back side of horizontal ones and inevitably fall.

Man-made cave

Exterior view

Inside view

Needed: shovel, pickaxe.
Time: about half a minute.
Difficulty: easy.
If there is no time or opportunity to do anything else, then this is the best option. You can bury yourself in the ground in a few seconds and cover the top with dirt, or find a hill, mountain, cave or canyon and dig a room in the slope. You can also fence off part of an ordinary cave.

"Advantages: "

  • can be upgraded to a full house
  • quite spacious
  • easy to expand
  • you can build a mine
  • a lot of material for external construction

"Flaws: "

  • low stability: one creeper or charge TNT, set by your enemy- and you will need to change your place of residence
  • multiplayer: you will sometimes be visited by miners who accidentally broke through your wall in search of ores or by those who started digging their homes here before you
  • a lot of noise from monsters appearing above you
  • if in the process of expanding your home you come across an unlit cave, then you will have to sort things out with the indigenous inhabitants for a long time

Conclusion: not bad for a first overnight stay and temporary housing.

"Additional: "A good start for an underground city

Shack a la “cube of mud”

Classic example. You can get banned from the server for this

Needed: one or two stacks of any material.
Time: about a minute.
Difficulty: easy.
Small house. You can make a hole into the cellar and several underground rooms or a mine, which you will dig while waiting for the start of the day.

"Advantages: "

  • quickly being built
  • easy to expand

"Flaws: "

  • little space
  • fire and explosion hazard
  • looks ugly from the outside
  • is often attacked by griefers, because Usually the owners of such houses are newbies who do not know how to properly privatize their home.

Conclusion: a good option for those who don’t want to fight monsters or sit in a tree until the morning.

"Additionally: "you can make a mine, a farm and a couple of cellars for storing things.

Dugout

Needed: some wood and earth, stairs.
Time: about 3 minutes.
Difficulty: easy.
You need to dig a hole (according to your taste - it will be your living space), then build a wooden roof with a slope and cover it with earth. After that, you make a hole in the roof, install ladders and... voila! The dugout is ready!

"Advantages: "

  • quite resource-intensive
  • fast construction
  • if you dig a network of rooms, you can invite friends in multiplayer or make an underground hotel

"Flaws: "

  • not the best view from the inside (to avoid this, you can decorate/or make wooden walls and, at the very top of the window, it will not look bad)
  • little space (although can be expanded)

Conclusion: a half-dugout is suitable for those who dreamed of living like the ancient Eastern Slavs.

"Additionally: "you can make a mine, a farm and a couple of cellars for storing things, or dig several rooms and make an underground house.

"House in the village"

Just 10 minutes ago it was an ordinary village house...

Needed: a couple of torches, a bed.
Time: 10 seconds + time to find the NPC village.
Difficulty: very easy (not counting the difficulty of finding the village).
You will need to find NPC village, choose a bigger and better house for yourself, drive out the residents from there (you can punch a hole in the wall or replace the door with a gate or an iron door so that the residents stop considering this house theirs), install torches and a bed and begin to arrange your new home.

"Advantages: "

  • very low resource requirements
  • protects you (as well as the villagers) iron Golem
  • other houses can become sources of building materials
  • villages almost always have plantations with wheat, potatoes and carrots
  • the house is located in the village, what with the introduction trade was a huge plus

"Flaws: "

  • it is difficult to find a village, and in multiplayer it is almost impossible (however, in the flat world villages are generated very often)
  • if you have not replaced the door with an iron one, then the villagers will interfere with your house
  • if you accidentally hit a villager or iron golem, then you're done for

Conclusion: if you have a village near the spawn, this is your choice.

“Additionally: “building a small town or castle on the site of a village, observing its life and protecting its inhabitants from vile zombies can be a rather fun pastime.

Mushroom house

Needed: mushroom (color doesn't play a big role, but most players usually prefer red), bone meal, some blocks of other materials.
Time: 5-10 seconds.
Difficulty: easy.
To create such a house for yourself, install a mushroom, use bone meal and climb onto it by creating a “pillar” or installing a ladder.

"Advantages: "

  • fast
  • cheap
  • maybe later eat
  • you can build a tower (see below)
  • can be expanded

"Flaws: "

  • no explosion resistance
  • multiplayer: your house will be invisible except in the mushroom biome
  • from 1.2.5 mushrooms grow only on mycelium

Conclusion: it’s still better than spending the night in the open air or in a pile of earth.

"Additionally: "Also, since you have already started construction, why not complete your home to a mushroom tower?

Mushroom Tower

Needed: at least 3 mushrooms, the same amount of bone meal, a lot of stairs.
Time: at least 30 seconds.
Difficulty: easy.
You just grow mushrooms, one on top of the other.

"Advantages: "

  • see above
  • can be used as an alternative to a beacon
  • almost complete protection from mobs
  • good review
  • lots of space

"Flaws: "

  • see above
  • multiplayer: your house will be very visible even in the mushroom biome

Conclusion: a highly visible alternative to a lighthouse.

Medium difficulty

You can’t live your whole life in a small room carved into a rock or a cube of earth? Next will be those buildings that almost everyone created, which are quite suitable for living and can be built already on the third or fourth day of the game.

Stone house

Needed: 2-3 stacks of blocks, 20-30 glass blocks/glass panels.
Time: 5-10 minutes.
Difficulty: medium.
The next stage of evolution after the shack. A simple, solid house made of stone or bricks. The choice of most players.

"Advantages: "

  • explosion- and fire-resistant
  • expanding
  • cheap and simple

"Flaws: "

  • so typical that it's kind of boring

Conclusion: a simple and good-quality home that, with proper care, will last almost forever.

"Additional: "build a farm, warehouse and mine nearby\in the basement for convenience.

A house on a tree

Classic example

You need: 2-3 stacks of blocks, glass, a lot of stairs (although you can get creative and climb the vines).
Time: 10-15 minutes + time to find a tree (although you can grow it yourself).
Difficulty: medium/difficult.
Almost the same as an ordinary house, but on a tropical tree and with a hatch instead of a door. Another option is to build a small house on the seashore, on a large oak tree, with a bed, a record player and everything you want. Or you can even build a “nest” - a small flooring on which there will be something for you to do.

"Advantages: "

  • you don't have to go far for cocoa beans
  • if you have a bow, you can shoot at mobs
  • many ocelots
  • in multiplayer, if you build a house in the center of the jungle (especially in large biomes), no one will find it.
  • if you choose the right place, the view will be simply gorgeous, especially at sunset. In addition, you can put a player on and play a “strad” record - jungle sounds performed on a synthesizer.

"Flaws: "

  • quite difficult to build on wood
  • multiplayer: very difficult to private (especially tall tree)
  • if you accidentally break the floor, you may die if you fall from a tall tree
  • fire hazard
  • quite a long way to a mine, farm or other agricultural buildings

"Additionally: "you can make several such houses and connect them with bridges - then you will get a “city on trees.” And, a good option would be to find a temple in the jungle, fence the area around with a cobblestone wall, remove all vegetation in this area, except for large trees, and build houses on them.

Tree house

Farmer's house

Needed: Tree seedlings - at least 16 pieces for a 4x4 house, bone meal, wood blocks, a door, a wooden fence or glass.
Time: 5-10 minutes + time for tree growth if there is no bone meal
Difficulty: medium/difficult.
We plant the earthen area with tree seedlings so that when they grow, we get a single tree mass. Tropical trees or oaks are best. If any seedling does not want to grow, you can help it with bone meal or simply build up this place with blocks of wood. Next, we cut down the room inside, make windows, hang a door, and remove excess foliage covering the windows. Windows made from a wooden fence look more beautiful. If tropical trees are used, their height may allow for a second floor. If the floor of the building is level with the ground, then it can be replaced with blocks of wood.

"Advantages: "

  • almost complete protection from mobs
  • looks beautiful
  • camouflages well in the forest

"Flaws: "

  • fire hazard
  • it is difficult to grow many trees close together

Man-made house in NPC village

Needed: 3-4 stacks of boards, cobblestones.
Time: 2-3 days + time to find the village.
Difficulty: medium.
Often - an ordinary medium-sized house made of boards, wood and cobblestones with a small yard. You just need to have a few animals. This option for building a house is often the best choice for a quiet life.

"Advantages: "

  • main activities - trade, animal breeding, fishing and hunting
  • fishing and raising animals bring experience, food and emeralds, and hunting also brings many useful items
  • relative privacy and tranquility

"Flaws: "

  • it is difficult to find a village, and then also to build defensive structures.

Conclusion: a lot of all kinds of useful things, food, experience, peace and positivity.

Submarine

An example of a simple submarine (outside).

The same submarine, but already inside

"Advantages: "

  • almost complete invisibility
  • there are always fish and octopuses
  • water blocks damage from explosions, so any explosion will be absolutely safe for you
  • monsters won't get to you
  • with the help of TNT guns you can organize underwater battles

"Flaws: "

  • the difficulty of building underwater (especially at great depths)
  • almost no resources from the surface (although who would sit on a submarine all the time?)

Conclusion: well-protected underwater base. Hardcore version: we do all this, but in the Nether under a sea of lava (with the help of a potion of fire resistance).

Bridge House

An example of such a house.

What you need: some resources, a beautiful place.
Time: from 30 minutes to 2 hours (depending on the size of the river and your desires).
Difficulty: medium.

"Advantages: "

  • very nice view of the house
  • The view from the windows is picturesque
  • relatively easy to build
  • does not require a lot of time and resources
  • extremely convenient if you constantly cross a certain river
  • plenty of space for farms and other buildings
  • you can build a small port (as in the picture) and go on trips along the rivers
  • you can fish right from home
  • if the house is very high, you can install a beacon so as not to get lost

"Flaws: "

  • very easy to notice
  • your house may interfere with the navigation of other players
  • build Beautiful the house is quite difficult
  • not enough space
  • basically the growth of the house will be in height, not in width or underground

Conclusion: excellent multifunctional house with beautiful views.

Cottage/estate

Needed: 3-4 stacks of building materials of sufficient strength, glass.
Time: 2-4 hours.
Difficulty: medium.
In the simplest version - a stone house with a farm and a mine, surrounded by a wall. This option for creating a house is one of the most self-sufficient and protected from external influences. New floors and extensions are also often built (warehouses, bedrooms, forges, kitchens, greenhouses, mobile farms...).

"Advantages: "

  • if the defense is built correctly, it is practically invulnerable
  • lots of space
  • if you build a variety of farms to supply resources and make supplies, then you won’t even have to leave there

"Flaws: "

  • impossible to build in the first 2-3 days
  • takes up a lot of space, which can become critical on a large server
  • if it turns out to be too big, even administrators will not be able to help with private

Conclusion: a well-protected, self-sufficient base.

"Additionally: "in multiplayer, you can make a couple of floors/extensions and place all your friends there.

Bunker/dugout

Find the bunker!

Needed: 1-2 stacks of durable blocks (obsidian, brick, stone brick), some glass/lattices, an iron door.
Time: 10-20 minutes.
Difficulty: medium.
We dig a man-made cave, cover it with the selected material (in the case of stone bricks, preferably a double layer), insert a door and windows, mask everything with earth, and make storage facilities. To be extra sure, you can set traps.

"Advantages: "

  • almost complete stealth and explosion resistance

"Flaws: "

  • lack of resources
  • have nothing to do
  • little space

Conclusion: armored anti-grief structure. Recommended as a “last chance” - a place where you can go for a while in the event of an unexpected incident (severe fire, explosion of a large number of explosives in your home, flooding of your home with water or lava, zombie siege).

"Additional: "

  • in your spare time, you can start creating a network of huge shelters with their own life support system and communication system.
  • you can make the beginning of the bunker in the ordinary world, and the continuation in the Lower World, and connect them with portals.

House in the Nether

"Advantages: "

  • there are always fish and octopuses
  • you can dig a mine
  • almost complete invisibility
  • with the right lighting, the only mobs that spawn for you will be octopuses

"Flaws: "

  • It's often impossible to figure out what time it is (it's okay if you have a watch)
  • fragility of the structure: one destroyed block and you are flooded
  • difficult to expand

Conclusion: if you want something unusual.

"Additionally: "hardcore version: go to the Nether and do the same thing, but under a sea of lava.

Floating island

Needed: a lot of earth and stone, a pickaxe with Silk touch
Time: at least 2-3 game days.
Difficulty: difficult.

  1. Select the height at which you plan to build.
  2. Jump there using the pillars.
  3. Build an inverted pyramid/tetrahedron/hemisphere from earth and/or stone (in order to make the island look more beautiful and realistic, it is recommended to make an irregularly shaped base).
  4. Cover on top grass and grow trees, build houses, etc.

"Advantages: "

  • breathtaking view
  • plenty of space to add other satellite islands
  • almost complete protection from mobs (and, if desired, players)
  • a great way to spend your earth and stone reserves

"Flaws: "

  • easy to fall (however, falling will not cause damage if the island is placed over a large body of water at least 2 blocks deep, since water absorbs fall damage)
  • need a lot of resources
  • very long and difficult to build
  • difficult to go down and get back up
  • if you make an island at a high altitude and without a ladder down, then after death you will have to look for your island for a long time
  • It will be very difficult to enchant a pickaxe with Silk Touch to mine a block herbs. You can build a staircase from land to the island, then the grass itself will grow to your island, but this will take a very long time (especially if the island is very high above the ground)
  • Even if you manage to get grass, you will have to wait a long time until the entire island is covered with it.

Conclusion: magnificent home. It's just a pity that it requires so much.

"Additionally: "you can then make cosmetic changes: build a couple of smaller islands around, dig a hole of the same size under the island (so that it seems that your island has been ripped out of the ground), build something on it (a city from WoW - Dalaran, a mage's tower , which “raised” this island, or a giant tree), or even make something out of it (for example, the castle of magicians from NOMM V, or Castle in the Sky Laputa). Can be used instead of pillars tropical tree, that is, grow it up to you, and thus achieve the required height (plus, tropical trees are overgrown with lianas, which will allow you to make stairs from them). If you build a large enough island in multiplayer, you can even make a city in the sky. As an option, you can make not a flying island, but a huge airship. If you have a snow golem/sheep, you can make a cloud as the zero level. You can also build one large “Main” island, and create “extensions” nearby, from smaller islands connected to the main island by bridges. Also, to simplify the descent/ascent, you can pour water, and you will get a very beautiful waterfall, which will also serve as an elevator.

House in edge

Conclusion: only if you really want privacy, peace and comfort!

Skyscraper

Needed: a lot of glass and building materials.
Time: a day or two at least.
Difficulty: difficult.
Place the first floor, then go up and place the next floor from the same blocks and according to the same principle. Repeat until you reach the desired height.

"Advantages: "

  • looks impressive
  • great review
  • lots of space
  • safe from mobs
  • on the server you can accommodate friends on it or rent out rooms
  • if you build several of these skyscrapers on the seashore, it will look simply gorgeous
  • in multiplayer your authority will instantly increase.

"Flaws: "

  • requires a lot of resources
  • it's easy to fall from a great height
  • you get tired of running up the stairs (solved by building an elevator)
  • During construction, you often have to walk up and down stairs to get resources
  • It is recommended to build on a busy server or in a city, since a lonely tower in a forest or in the middle of the desert looks strange and dull
  • you need a good imagination, otherwise there is no need to even try

Conclusion: if you want a home with plenty of space and a great view.

Ship

Flying ship before departure.

Needed: a huge amount of wood.
Time: several days minimum.
Difficulty: difficult.
Who hasn't dreamed of owning a ship with a crew of dashing corsairs? It has its own difficulties and disadvantages, but if built correctly, you will be envied!

"Advantages: "

  • looks amazing
  • ships are rare, beautiful ships are very rare
  • plenty of space both inside and outside
  • on the server you can accommodate friends in cabins or rent them out
  • a lot of fish and octopuses

"Flaws: "

  • It is very inconvenient to build on water
  • not very convenient to get to the mine
  • requires an incredible amount of resources and time

Conclusion: impressive, beautiful, but heavy.

City

Needed: building materials, glass.
Time: from a couple of days to several months.
Difficulty: medium/difficult.
Often grows from a randomly found NPC village or from a small village on the server. Many houses next to each other with streets, shops, courtyards, squares.

"Advantages: "

  • fun to watch life villagers /players
  • lots of space
  • you can proclaim yourself mayor and make various laws
  • you can earn extra money by shopping and bargaining with players or villagers

"Flaws: "

  • requires a lot of time and space

Conclusion: not bad for a server or a small company.

"Additional: "

  • Don't forget to spawn some iron golems!
  • don't forget to build:
    • police (and prison)
    • the shops
    • fire station
    • city hall
    • statues

And everything you can think of!

underground city

You need: a bucket of water, a bunch of torches, a lot of picks (from a couple of dozen to several hundred, preferably stone ones) and time (from a couple of days to several months).
Difficulty: high.
As a rule, it grows out of a network of caves, but you can manually dig out a space of the required size. It consists of a main square or street (a large natural cave or a huge man-made hall, you can also use an underground canyon) and houses, which are the entrance to the square or street and several rooms hollowed out in the mountain or underground. In the city itself, if there are caves, then they are necessarily “cultivated” (the pits are sealed or fenced, all descents and ascents use steps or ladders). The role of caves and canyons in a man-made city is represented by long, wide and straight corridors with a high ceiling (from 4 blocks) The administrator can settle in this city villagers.

"Advantages: "

  • looks impressive
  • great for the server
  • fabulous wealth from ore mining (only building a main area of medium size (90 by 90) and a height of 8 blocks with a ceiling no higher than level 18 can bring you up to a whole stack of diamonds, and there will be so much cobblestone that they will have to fill at least 10 chests)
  • all the advantages of the city, only instead of the mayor - the king of the mountains (or someone with a lower title)
  • the city’s immunity to almost a third of griefing methods (including air strikes and hijacking)
  • Having illuminated all the dark corners, the city will be protected from monsters, so an iron golem is not required

"Flaws: "

  • unfinished construction
  • acute shortage of wood, meat and other materials “from above” (can be treated by rising to the surface or growing all this underground)
  • it is impossible to determine the time of day (can be treated by crafting a clock, fortunately there will be plenty of gold and red dust, or “light wells”)
  • long and tedious cleaning of the lower levels of the city from lava (if you use natural caves)

Conclusion: great for the server.

"Additionally: "Your city will resemble a settlement of gnomes, dwarves or dwemers (and the professions will be basically the same: miners and blacksmiths). Also, on the main square you can build:

  • Columns
  • Light wells
  • Fountain
  • statue
  • Vaults and supports
  • Stone bridges over an abyss or gorge

Additional buildings to build:

  • Arena mob (based on a treasury, fortress or abandoned mine)
  • Labyrinth
  • Tower with access to the surface
  • A large passage from three to eight blocks high with a descent into your city (for those who are not afraid of griefers)

City in the Nether

Needed: building materials (non-flammable explosion-proof blocks), glass, many tools and weapons.
Difficulty: high.
Time: see City.
A more extreme option is to build a city in the Nether. Such a city can grow from hellish fortress or just on a large lava lake. It is recommended to build from explosion-resistant fireballs Ghastov and non-combustible blocks so that the ghasts are not bombed and burned. Streets can be cut into hell stone or build at high altitude.

"Advantages: "

  • Lava, hellstone, gold nuggets, ghast tears and fire rods are always at hand
  • zombie pigmen won't break into your house
  • no iron golem required

"Flaws: "

  • ghasts (and if in a hellish fortress, then efreets in the company of wither skeletons) will not give you peace
  • there are no resources and food from the ordinary world (one rotten flesh And stewed mushrooms you won’t be full) (decided by building Ender Chest

"Additionally: "what should be built in such a city:

  • Portal on the main square
  • Ifrit mob farms (in hellish fortresses, near spawners)
  • Farms of hellish growths (fortunately, sand of the soul a lot of)

City in the Edge

Needed: building materials, glass, many, many weapons and tools.
Difficulty: high.
Time: see City.
An even more extreme option than the previous one is the construction of a city in the Land. However, first you need to kill Ender Dragon, otherwise he won’t even let you build a shack...

"Advantages: "

  • The edge is an almost endless source obsidian , Edge stone And pearls of the land
  • no one except the Land Wanderers (which is especially good in multiplayer, since almost no one goes to the Land)
  • if you build a city around a portal, then there will always be a portal to the ordinary world at hand

"Flaws: "

  • there is a high risk of falling into the Void (however, you can make barriers along the edge of the island, but this will not save a careless miner)
  • easy to incur anger wanderers of the land- just looking them in the eye is enough (countermeasure - wearing pumpkins on the head)
  • first you have to find a portal to the End, and then also fight the End Dragon
  • The view in the Land is so sad...
  • on some servers there are plugins that resurrect ender dragons from eggs at certain intervals (thus, an untimely revived dragon can destroy the entire city)
  • or the Endwalkers can move every block. And your entire house is destroyed. (although, who will build a house from earth, sand or TNT?)

"Additionally: "what should be built in such a city:

  • Parks must have lighting, otherwise trees will not grow
  • Portal back to the main square
  • Reservoirs (pools, canals, etc.)
  • Resource and food storage

Conclusion: if you really want absolute peace...

Utilitarian premises

These are buildings with a specific purpose: farms, mines, lighthouses, warehouses, etc.

Farms

Farms are special structures designed to speed up or even automate the assembly process renewable resources.

Egg farm

1. Build a pen like this:

Top view: Instead of cobblestones - any hard surface

Bottom
- collection point

2. Corral the chickens
3. Stand at the collection point (or dig a channel to the underground room at the collection point and stand there) and collect eggs

Record Farm

The basic idea is this: first, one is lured into one hole skeleton, to the other - creeper(don't confuse the holes!). Then you stand behind the creeper, and the skeleton shoots at you, hitting the creeper (you can also shoot at the creeper yourself - the main thing is that the final blow is dealt by the skeleton).
True, there are a couple of nuances: you should not confuse the holes for the skeleton and the creeper; there must be 5 blocks between the skeleton and the creeper, as well as the creeper and you (to avoid detonation). Also, you will need to cover the skeleton with something on top (or place a block of water under it) so that it does not burn. Also, due to the improvements to mob AI in 1.2, you will need to use piston traps or running kicks to throw skeletons and creepers into holes
The scheme is something like this:

Side view:
- skeleton release point,
- creeper release point,
- the place where you should stand
- a stream of water carrying away the plate,
- solid block

P.S.: In Creative or on the server (by begging/buying spawn eggs), you can automate the reset process by installing dispensers with the corresponding spawn eggs above the drop points and connecting them to a button near you (it’s better to make two separate buttons for skeletons and for creepers)

Cobblestone Generator

Stone Generator

Mines

Notes for orientation

Decorative structures

Statues

One of the most favorite types of art among players, along with pixel art. Your statue can be anything: depict anyone (from a creeper or a slug to Notch), be made of anything (from wool or cobblestone to gold or glass), be of any size (from a small statue in your yard to a monument, the top of which is lost in the clouds)... In general, use your imagination! Statues can also be used as markers or memorials (for example, creating a statue of a creeper in the place where you first met him, or creating a hefty sword next to the barracks in your city).

Pixel art

Pixel art is paintings depicted using colored squares (pixels). Players often make "pixelated" versions of some painting using colored wool. Also often (using the same wool) the graphics of old games are recreated: individual sprites, characters, and sometimes entire levels!

Fountain

There is one in almost every yard. And it looks very good. You can surround it with blocks of grass with flowers for more decoration. You can also install a glowstone inside the fountain, which will give additional illumination and a beautiful, romantic look. The place of water can be placed with lava, which also provides additional lighting. And it can be surrounded by foliage of trees.

Decorative structures

Many structures, such as cathedrals, pyramids, airports or ships, from a gameplay point of view are devoid of any meaning and are de facto purely decorative.

Cemetery

Mainly performs a decorative function. You can improve it to your taste - put crypts with an iron door, and a gravel path, and put a pressure plate in front of the door, and dynamite under the gravel on which it is located (it is recommended to make a deep hole so that the explosion does not blow the cemetery to pieces). You can make dark underground rooms with portals and zombie spawners that create eerie sounds. This way you can create an atmosphere of the dead protecting their treasure. As a joke, you can put the grave of Notch or Herobrine. But on servers with hardcore mode, the cemetery can fulfill its direct function - everyone who dies is “buried”. It is better to hire a caretaker for the cemetery, because... on servers with such orders, you often come across vandals who destroy graves... until they themselves go there.

Roller coaster

Found on many servers and maps. Roller coasters are a system of intricately interconnected train tracks with golden rails and serve much the same purpose as their real-life counterpart.

Defensive structures

Taking into account the possible introduction in the future of many new mobs and regime Adventure(as well as many existing mods with new, stronger creatures), it is quite possible that you will need something more durable than a cobblestone wall.

In this article, defensive structures are divided into 3 types:

  • Delays are devices that slow down the advance of enemies. An example is a moat with water.
  • Obstacles are structures that mobs cannot overcome without outside help or by breaking a hole in it (with a creeper explosion or a ghast fireball, for example). A classic example is fortress walls.
  • Damage Dealers - Their role is to damage enemies and destroy them. An example is a mine. The damage dealer can also act as an obstacle (a wall of cacti) or a delayer (an arrow dispenser connected to a pressure plate).

Attention! Consider the vulnerabilities and strengths of mobs: for example, a lava moat will not cause damage zombie pigman, a wall made of earth will not withstand even a fireball explosion from cats.

Repulse Turret

Classification: delayer.
Difficulty: easy.

The role of the repulsion turret is simple: keep mobs as far away from your home as possible. To be effective, they require a large number of golems inside (at least 3). A large number of snowballs released will push mobs back so much that they won't even be able to move. This will happen until the mob moves out of sight of the golems, spawns, burns in the sun, or is killed by a player or another trap. This turret is effective against zombie And spiders, But skeletons can kill the "crew" of the turret.

"Advantages: "

  • easier to build
  • copes better with a large number of mobs
  • distracts mobs and prevents them from moving, which makes the process of killing them by players or other mobs (for example, iron golems) easier

"Flaws: "

  • does not kill mobs, which in case of killing golems or mobs leaving the field of view leaves the protected object without protection
  • Does not work well against skeletons: one skeleton can damage or kill several golems before disappearing or going out of sight
  • does not work well if the player is awake at night, as the golems will have to distract mobs all night

"Additionally: "you can combine the turret with other traps or dangers (for example, install a turret next to a narrow bridge over a lake lava or deep hole).

Traction Turret

Difficulty: easy/medium.
Autonomous: no, but can last a long time (requires replacement of destroyed golems).
The attractor turret is a little more difficult to implement. It consists of the turret itself with one snow golem inside and some kind of trap in front of it (lava lake, pit, etc.). It works like this: a mob enters the golem’s field of view, the golem attacks the target, but cannot push it away, the target moves towards the golem, but falls into the trap set.

"Advantages: "

  • Requires only one golem to operate effectively
  • skeletons have less time to react, which means golems have a longer lifespan
  • more effective in defense if the player does not sleep at night
  • if the trap leads to a mob farm, then drops from mobs can be easily collected

"Flaws: "

  • requires more time and resources
  • ineffective against multiple mobs
  • since only one golem is used, if it is killed by a skeleton, the trap becomes useless
  • Mob trap creates additional danger for friendly mobs and even inattentive players

Wall

Classification: obstacle.
Difficulty: depends on the material.
Autonomous: yes.

Walls are simple vertical barriers that can be constructed from a variety of materials:

and Advantages: "

  • Just
  • cheap
  • provides good protection

"Flaws: "

  • vulnerable to explosions and griefing
  • wanderers of the land often seen stealing blocks from fortress walls (after 1.8.1 their stealing ability was reduced, and they will only steal a block from your wall if it is from the ground)
  • just a wall is not an obstacle for spiders. Option - building a wall in the shape of the letter L, with the top stick from one block, which looks outward
  • Some mods add mobs that can destroy walls

“Additionally: “you can make loopholes in the walls (or expand the wall/put a tower and climb onto it) and shoot mobs through them. You can also build a wall from cacti, causing damage when touched, and can also be combined with other defensive measures (like ditches or iron golems). Also, spiders are able to climb over walls. However, protrusions or recesses on the walls interfere with spiders. For decoration, you can put battlements, like on medieval city walls.

Also in version 1.4.2 and later, a cobblestone fence appeared. If you punch a 2x2 hole in the wall and put a cobblestone fence there, then there will be a small gap between the fences through which you can shoot with a bow. Skeletons have a small chance of falling into the gap.

Also, if you make a moat with water on the inside of the wall, then when teleporting through the wall, the Endwalker can fall straight into the water, which will cause damage to him. If you have places in the wall from which you can shoot at mobs, then do not make the moat too wide( 3 blocks maximum from the wall). Also place blocks on which you will jump across the ditch.

Lighting

Classification: delayer.
Difficulty: easy.
Autonomous: yes.
Yes, lighting can also delay mobs. Provide good lighting to the area around your base, and mobs that had to spawn away from your building will have to walk much longer (if they even find where your base is).

"Advantages: "

  • cheap
  • Just

"Flaws: "

  • Most lighting sources have low explosion resistance and/or can be washed away with water

Ditch/pit

Classification: depending on the design, it can be a delayer (moat with water), an obstacle (shallow trench), a damage dealer (moat with lava, a very deep pit, a moat with cacti/burning hellstone at the bottom).
Difficulty: medium.
Autonomous: yes.
In its simplest form, a moat is simply a ditch 3 blocks wide and deep dug around your building. Modifications are also possible: ditch with lava, moat with water, a moat that relates mobs to a mob farm, a moat with cacti/burning hell stone at the bottom, just a very deep hole...

"Advantages: "

  • Just
  • cheap
  • if at the bottom of the moat there is a stream of water that carries mobs to the mob farm, then it will be possible to pick up a drop
  • The cactus moat can be combined with a cactus farm and is also easy to build in the desert
  • the burning and lava moats look cool
  • a sufficiently wide water ditch will be your salvation on super flat world: slugs drowning in water

"Flaws: "

  • If you or your animals fall into a ditch, they are unlikely to get out
  • labor-intensive
  • in the case of a lava/cactus/burning moat it is very resource intensive
  • Lava and burning pits have no effect on Nether creatures and can also set fire to your flammable buildings
  • Lava, burning and cactus ditches destroy loot
  • Lava and burning ditches can be easily overcome by filling them with water

Sniper/fortress tower

Difficulty: medium.
Autonomous: no (manual control required).
If you have free space, time and extra building materials, then build a sniper tower or a tower on the wall.

"Advantages: "

  • You can practice shooting
  • great review

"Flaws: "

  • requires good accuracy
  • requires a huge amount arrows(can be treated by enchanting Luke to infinity)
  • at low draw distance nothing is visible

"Additionally: "if you have a mod that adds friendly shooting mobs, you can try to drive them onto towers and build a turret there for them

Minefield

Classification: damage dealer.
Difficulty: medium.
Autonomous: no (requires constant replacement of mines).
The simplest mine can be built like this:

  1. Digging a hole 1X1X2 blocks
  2. Placed at the bottom of the hole TNT and closes with a block
  3. Placed on top of the block pressure plate

"Advantages: "

  • high explosion damage
  • the mine can be activated from a safe location using red stone
  • the mine is relatively easy to manufacture

"Flaws: "

  • dynamite is expensive in production
  • the explosion will cause severe destruction to the landscape and, possibly, your buildings, and also, if installed incorrectly, will detonate other mines (decided, see "additional")
  • mines are disposable and therefore require constant replacement
  • you (or your pet) may accidentally be blown up by a mine
  • if you die in a minefield, your things will fly away

"Additional: " This also works for mods that add explosives or mines as a separate block/item.

If you dig a hole very deep and place explosives on the 2nd block (counting from the surface), sand or gravel on top of it, and a pressure plate on top, then the mob, the player, the thrown object (if the pressure plate is wooden) will fall to the bottom of the hole and explode inside without causing damage to the surface. This removes some of the shortcomings.

Piston trap

Classification: damage dealer.
Difficulty: medium.
Autonomous: yes.
This trap consists of several components:

  1. Sensor, which is a pressure plate connected to pistons in a few repeaters(they are necessary so that the trap does not go off prematurely) and a signal amplifier (so that it does not release the mob ahead of time)
  2. Actually, herself trap, consisting of a narrow corridor with pistons (if you want to disguise them, place sticky pistons behind the blocks). When the sensor is triggered, it sends a signal to the trap, which slams shut, pressing the mob against the wall and causing damage to it.

"Advantages: "

  • looks cool from the outside (a mob is walking along the corridor, suddenly a wall moves towards him and crushes him into a cake!)
  • does not require recharging
  • harder to notice
  • if the sensor breaks down, you can activate it manually from a safe place

"Flaws: "

  • if you miss setting the delays on the repeaters, the trap will collapse prematurely, if you make a mistake in the amplifier, it will release the mob earlier than necessary. In any case, the mob will remain alive and will be able to get to you
  • pistons destroy the drop (you can remove the bottom row of pistons, but then small mobs, like chickens or spiders, will be able to pass unhindered)
  • Only applicable in an enclosed space (such as a building or cave)

Using mobs

Classification: Delay/Damage Dealer.
Difficulty: medium.
Autonomous: no, but can last a long time (requires replacement of destroyed mobs).
Friendly mobs can help you in battle. You can tame a couple wolves, and leave them outside the gate overnight to fight mobs. However, wolves are very ineffective in defense, since they constantly follow you, and therefore cannot be left to guard the house. Iron golems much more effective, since they can kill a mob in a couple of hits, but they require iron. It is also possible to use mobs from mods.

"Advantages: "

  • automatically destroy all mobs nearby
  • leave a drop
  • high efficiency

"Flaws: "

  • you need to change mobs occasionally
  • Golems require a lot of iron and are quite slow; wolves cannot stay to patrol the area
  • they do not attack some mobs (such as creepers or wanderers of the land)
  • sometimes golems can wander too far from home and get lost

"Additionally: "it is possible to use golems from NPC villages, as well as some friendly mobs from other mods

"Advantages: "

  • large selection of ammunition
  • small size
  • leaves loot
  • can be activated remotely

"Flaws: "

  • requires recharging (especially for potion dispensers)
  • low effectiveness against low mobs (such as spiders or small slugs)
  • a turret with a wooden slab can be falsely triggered by a fallen object, and a turret with a generator can release some of its ammunition into the void
  • fire can only be fired in one direction

Signaling

Classification: warning.
Difficulty: medium.
Autonomous: yes.
For those who like to do everything with their own hands and who have a lot of red stone and some gold lying around, you can make an alarm. An alarm is a system of pressure plates placed at key points (wall passage, house door, warehouse, etc.) and connected to musical blocks. As soon as a mob or thief steps on the stove, the music block makes a sound, and thus you know that someone has broken into you. For additional security, you can make several music blocks, each connected to its own stove. This will make it easier to locate the intruder.

"Advantages: "

  • allows you to identify the invading enemy

"Flaws: "

  • requires a lot of red stone
  • does not kill a stranger, but only makes his presence known
  • if you are in a mine deep underground, you may not hear the signal

"Quicksand"

Classification: retarder.
Difficulty: medium.
Autonomous: yes.
In general, “quicksand” is a wide ditch of sand souls(at least 3 blocks wide). It slows down mobs a lot (especially when placed on top of ice or under cobwebs).

"Advantages: "

  • slows down mobs very much, thus making them easy targets for shooters and (at dawn, only for mobs burning in the sun) sunlight
  • at dawn you can collect drops

"Flaws: "

  • If you get there yourself, it will take you a long time to get out.

TNT gun

Classification: damage dealer.
Difficulty: difficult.
Autonomous: no (requires manual operation and recharging).
The name describes itself. A weapon of last chance, used only when absolutely necessary.

"Advantages: "

  • huge damage
  • effective against large crowds

"Flaws: "

  • difficult to aim, especially at moving targets
  • If built or used incorrectly, the gun may explode
  • the explosion causes enormous damage to the landscape
  • dynamite is expensive in production

"Additional: "Try combining this gun with Quicksand. Also, the cannon will be invaluable when storming an enemy castle on a PvP server.

Miscellaneous

Museums/schools/libraries

They usually contain samples of pixel art and statues, simple mechanisms, and there are always kind people there who are ready to help with advice. Obviously, in a single-player environment, these buildings are used only for decorative purposes, but on a server they can become a powerful learning tool for beginners and a support for them.

Various training grounds/playgrounds/arenas, etc. skins) or build an automatic food distribution system using dispensers.
  • On a server with the ChestShop plugin you can install a store or make a stall

Jail

A building with many small rooms with walls made of cobblestones and iron bars (fence, if there is a lack of iron). Building such a structure on servers where a plugin is installed that prohibits teleporting anywhere and using commands will be a good idea against griefers. It will be even better if you place the prison at the spawn of players with the sign “Shame of our server,” or, conversely, near the bedrock, so that not everyone will know about its existence. It will also be useful if: in prison it will not be possible to light a portal or throw ender pearls, and the plugin will not let players go far from the prison if it is damaged.

Casino

With help distributors , red stone And pressure plates, it is quite possible to build some version of a one-armed bandit.

Railway/metro

To quickly move between houses/cities. There is also an alternative - on servers where there is a certain plugin, you can install portals. There is also a 3rd option - install the SimpleWarps plugin and use warps.

Marina

For sea travelers (there is a problem with constant breakdown of boats) (can be treated by building souls from sand), or you can build a ship in the pier (see above).

Bridge

Bridges are used to quickly cross a river/ravine, or as decoration. If you have enough red stone, then you can build a drawbridge. Do you feel sorry for the material? No problem! There is always an alternative - install a plugin. Install the plugin and for the bridge you will need: 14 cobblestones, 2 signs, and 20 seconds.
