The fence is low for a summer residence to make yourself. Types of concrete fences. Methods for decorating fences.

A dacha is, first of all, its own land. Standard six hundred parts suburban area, make it possible to realize dreams of own home... And, like any property, it is fenced off, separated from the rest of the space.

Most summer cottages are houses for seasonal living, so the construction of a capital fence is not advisable.

Saving money - this is the main issue that takes a developer when solving any dacha issue. And building a fence for garden house - not an exception.

But any private trader wants his fence to be not only cheap, but also beautiful and reliable. Will an inexpensive garden fence be able to meet these expectations?

Which fence is cheaper?

The cost of the fence is influenced by the choice of its size and design.

A high fence, naturally, will be more expensive than a low one, and a solid fence will be more expensive than a transparent one.

A fence that is attached to dug-in or concreted posts will be cheaper than a fence mounted on a strip foundation.

Having decided on the construct, we turn to the choice of material from which you can build a fence.

Options for inexpensive fences for a summer residence

Wooden fence

Building an inexpensive wooden fence is a smart option. It is inexpensive, beautiful and easy to install. There are several types of such hedges.

  • Picket fence, board (edged and unedged).
  • Ranch fence.
  • Wicker (intertwined rods).

The most popular material for a country fence is a picket fence. It is made of wood planks with a thickness of 18 to 22 mm and a width of 7 to 14 cm. The height of such a fence can be selected in the range from 1.2 to 4 meters. For fixing the picket fence, horizontal girders are used, fixed on wooden (oak) metal or concrete posts.

The one who believes that it is impossible to make from a picket fence is mistaken beautiful fence... There are many examples of original designs made of this material.

The picket fence, fixed at an angle, forms an openwork fence

The approximate cost of a picket fence is 700 rubles / m2. The final price of the fence depends on the chosen installation option. Installing a picket fence in a staggered or herringbone pattern increases the cost of the structure by 15-20%. Strip foundation instead of simply driving the posts into the ground, it adds 20-25% to the cost.

Fences made of thin wicker boards and a blockhouse are more expensive (from 1000 rubles / m2). A fence made of wicker boards attracts attention with an original view, and a fence from a blockhouse wins the hearts of summer residents with the quality of a wooden frame.

Wicker fence

Wooden blockhouse fence

A fence called Rancho came to us from the Wild West. Its main feature is the use of wide horizontal planks or beams, fixed on low wooden posts.

Ranch fence - cows will not pass, children will climb

The obvious disadvantage of such a fence is the weak protection of the site from the penetration of unauthorized persons. It is quite understandable, since this fence was created for a vast area of \u200b\u200bpastures. In terms of the cost of materials and work, the Ranch fence is comparable to the price of a picket fence.

Fans of rustic style will certainly be interested in wattle fence - a fence made of hazel or willow branches. It is original, strong enough and durable. With a strong desire, the technique of weaving branches can be mastered with your own hands in a matter of hours. If you have no time to engage in manual creativity, then you will have to pay from 500 rubles for 1 m2 for making and installing wattle fence.

Anyone who is going to build an inexpensive fence for a summer residence is advised to pay attention to an unedged board. Having freed it from the bark, sanded and opened with varnish, you will get a beautiful fence for your summer cottage at a minimal price (450-550 rubles / m2).

Overlapping unedged boards makes the fence very durable

Regarding the durability of wooden fences, the following must be said: the service life of autoclaved wood increases to 30 years. The service life of an ordinary painted board does not exceed 15 years.

Metal fences

Metal has always been more expensive than wood, but even here summer residents can find acceptable options for themselves:

  • Rabitz.
  • Corrugated (woven) mesh.
  • Welded roll and flat welded mesh (3D).
  • Euroshtaketnik.
  • Decking.

Mesh netting - a guest from Australia

Most cheap fence can be built from a chain-link mesh. It is available in different heights (1.0-3.0 meters), lengths (10-18 meters) and mesh sizes (20-100 mm). To protect the wire from corrosion, zinc and polymer coating is used.

You can put such a fence by rolling out the mesh and fixing it to metal or concrete posts. The second option is the production of mesh sections (frames from corners or pipes) and their installation on poles.

The longevity of mesh fences reaches 30 years. They do not shade the area and create a serious barrier for uninvited guests. The average cost of 1 m2 of a fence made from a turnkey chain-link mesh is 160-240 rubles / m2.

Corrugated mesh

It was created not for fences, but for sifting crushed stone and gravel (screens). Steel corrugated mesh is made from bent wires by the method of perpendicular weaving. Main advantage of this material in front of the chain-link - higher rigidity.

The corrugated (crimped) mesh does not come in rolls, but in flat sections measuring 1.75 x 4.5 meters. By fixing it on the posts, we get a high and strong fence. At a price, it is significantly more expensive than a chain-link (400 rubles versus 80 for 1m2). Saving on posts (section width 4.5 meters versus 2.5 m for the netting) does not save the situation.

Welded mesh

Discussions about which fence is cheaper drew our attention to rolled welded mesh. The estimated cost of a turnkey fence made of this material in 2016 is 400 rubles per 1m2.

3D welded mesh

Steel wire mesh (3D) in last years very popular with summer residents. Anyone who does not like chain-link fences can order a fence made of this material.

The unusual name 3D is explained in two ways. First of all, it tells us that this mesh is not flat, but formed by a bent wire with a diameter of 3.5 to 5 mm. The second reason is a marketing move that fixes the material in the mind of the buyer due to the general enthusiasm for spatial technologies.

A welded 3D mesh is produced in sections with a height of 0.33 to 3.33 meters and a length of 1.5 to 3 meters. The cost of its turnkey installation is from 500 rubles / m2.

Euroshtaketnik

The habit of adding the prefix "euro" to the title of the material worked this time as well. In its essence, it does not explain anything, but it sounds modern and beautiful. The popularity of fences from wooden picket fence prompted stamped metal manufacturers to create something similar. The result is a very aesthetic and durable material.

In terms of service life, wood cannot be compared with it. In addition, the fence made of euro shtaketnik does not require periodic tinting and antiseptic treatment. The protective polymer film, which is used to cover the galvanized steel, retains its color and integrity for 25-30 years.

Installation of a fence made of a euroshtaketnik, taking into account the cost of materials and work, is from 800 rubles per 1 m2.

The use of euro shtaketnik of different colors and its non-standard installation make the fence attractive

Corrugated board

The undisputed leader of the suburban "fence construction". The reasons for its popularity are simple installation and durability. To this can be added a huge selection of colors and textured pattern of the profiled sheet.

Fence made of corrugated board with wood imitation. Looks great, lasts a very long time

Given the high demand for fencing made of corrugated board, we will give several recommendations for the selection and installation of this material:

  • It is advisable to use corrugated board with a thickness of 0.5 mm. It is not much more expensive than 0.4 mm thick flooring, but it will not be covered with dents and will not lose its attractiveness.
  • If we take the distance between the supports at 3 m, then under the influence of wind loads, the fence canvas will begin to bend and may lose its original appearance. Therefore, the step of the supports should be no more than 2-2.5 m, ideally 1.5 m.
  • It is necessary to dig in the pipes of the supports to a depth of at least 1.5 m, they must be concreted.
  • The fence post should be made of a 60-80 mm pipe, with a wall thickness of at least 2 mm.
  • It is necessary to take corrugated board with two-sided, polymer coating, since the galvanized flooring (without painting), after two years, becomes stained, loses its shine and can begin to corrode.

The cost of a fencing made of corrugated board, excluding work, is lower than the price of a fence made of a euro-fence and is approximately 650-900 rubles per 1m2.

Plastic

When thinking about what is cheaper to make a fence from, do not lose sight of such popular material as cellular polycarbonate... It is durable and beautiful, and in a frame made of steel profiles creates a fairly strong enclosing structure.

Fence made of cellular polycarbnate

There are two options for mounting polycarbonate: on steel joists (purlins) or in sections from a profile. The first way is cheaper. Its price starts from 1000 rubles / m2. Installation on sections is more expensive (from 1,500 rubles / m2), but allows you to get a more durable structure.

Slate

For installation of the fence, you can use both flat and corrugated asbestos-cement slate. The first is stronger because it is thicker.

The installation of a large flat slate (1.5x3 meters) is faster than the installation of a smaller wavy one (1.75x1.125 m). Slate is placed on steel profile girders, welded or bolted to metal posts.

Slate fencing is characterized by high strength, frost and heat resistance. It is more durable than wood and is not afraid of corrosion like metal. A significant drawback of slate is fragility. Another disadvantage of the slate fence is the nondescript gray look. It can be easily corrected by staining with a special paint.

The average cost of slate fences (with work) is 800 rubles / m2.

conclusions

The first place in terms of accessibility is occupied by chain-link fences (200 rubles / m2).

The third position can be awarded to fences made of corrugated board, slate, blockhouse and edged board (700-1000 rubles / m2).

Fence installation

To make the fence very inexpensive, you need to build it yourself. The main points to pay attention to during installation:

  • The supporting structure of the fence is made in accordance with the weight of the fence.
  • The basis supporting structure - must be reliably deepened and fixed in the ground.
  • Depending on the filling of the fence, the step of the supports is determined.
  • Before installing the type of fence you have chosen, be sure to take an interest in the technology of its installation, consult with a specialist.

The fence has been installed, we are summing up the results: if you wish, you can always choose such a fence for the garden plot, which will be beautiful, reliable and relatively cheap.

So, you are the happy owner of a new land plot! The work is endless, but it is a very enjoyable job. Where do you start? From the construction of the fence, of course! If you have a sufficient amount of funds, it is better to hire specialists (although it is not a fact that they will do it efficiently and “for centuries”). But if the budget is tight, and you are full of energy and enthusiasm, then you can easily build a fence yourself. This process is quite laborious, but quite feasible - you are not building the Great Wall of China, after all)) In this article I will talk about the advantages and disadvantages of certain types of fences and about building fences with your own hands.

What kind of fence to build?

So, after consulting with your wife, and most importantly - with your mother-in-law)) you are finally "ripe" for building a fence with your own hands. Now you need to decide what kind of fence do you need? If you want to completely "hide" from the outside world in your suburban oasis, then build a fence made of brick, corrugated board, concrete slabs or high boards. If you just need to fence off your property, consider creating a picket fence, metal lattice, chain-link fencing, a low board fence, or even a beautiful green fence.

And do not forget that, in addition to its main purpose - to fence off the territory and protect it from outside intrusion - the fence should also fulfill an aesthetic function. Therefore, pay attention to its appearance. Before I talk about building a summer cottage fence with your own hands, let's make a quick comparison of the most common types of fences.

Wooden fence

Advantages:

. availability of material;
. low cost.

You can buy edged boards inexpensively and process them yourself (plan, grind, cover with anti-decay and paint). Or you can buy a ready-made wooden fence in a store, for 1 m of which you will need to pay at least 1.5 thousand rubles. Edged board, by the way, will cost 3 times cheaper. It's up to you to choose.
Disadvantages:
. short-lived;
.requires regular maintenance: repair, touch-up and so on.

Brick fence

Advantages:
.very durable (will serve you faithfully for more than 50 years) .the most durable of all types of fence;
. does not require special care;
.looks solid and respectable.

Disadvantages:
. very high material cost
a solid foundation will be required, which is not cheap to build.

Fence made of corrugated board

Advantages:

.availability and variety of material: different sizes wave,. different color, coating and other parameters;
.easy installation (does not require a special foundation);
. low price
.practical;
.Durable: will last you about 30 years.

Disadvantages:
. very unattractive appearance (especially from the inside).

Therefore, quite often, when building fences with their own hands, they combine corrugated board with brick (like in this photo) - it turns out solidly and aesthetically.

Fence made of concrete slabs

Advantages:
.Excellent strength of the material: a concrete fence is 5-6 times stronger than a brick fence and can serve for more than 100 years;
.non-demand for care;

an impressive variety of decorative concrete slabs for fences - you can choose any model you like.
Disadvantages:
. it will not be possible to build with your own hands from start to finish, because for the installation of such a fence you will have to involve special equipment and workers.

Metal mesh fence

Advantages:

Reliability: modern metal mesh for fences consists of galvanized iron rods with PVC coating;
sufficient durability (service life up to 30 years);
. does not create shade in the garden area.

Disadvantages:
does not close your site from the immodest glances of passers-by))

We build a fence in the country with our own hands

And now I present to you two methods of building a fence with your own hands, the most popular among summer residents and not requiring serious financial investments.
DIY wooden fence

.Determined with the boundaries of the site.
... We drill holes for bearing pillars 25-30 cm deep at a distance of 2 or 2.5 m from each other. We insert pillars into the pits and use a level to check that they are strictly vertical. We strengthen the beams (you can concrete or cement).
.On the pillars from above and below, we nail or screw a timber with a section of 50 x 50 mm or more with self-tapping screws.
.Install the cross members.
.Fix edged boards to the finished structure (you can take boards with a section of 85 x 145 mm) at a distance of 1.5-2 cm from each other.
.Getting to painting.

Very important! Before starting the construction of such a fence, all wooden parts should be coated 2-3 times or covered with another anti-decay agent.

DIY fence made of corrugated board

So, you bought the metal sheets you like in the store and are ready to build a fence from corrugated board with your own hands. Start with a trivial plot marking, and then follow the instructions:

.Around the perimeter of the site, drill holes in the ground with a depth of 1-1.2 m.
.Pour a layer of rubble or gravel into each hole to a height of 20-25 cm.
.Install metal posts in the pits with a cross section of at least 50 x 50 mm and adjust them strictly vertically.
.Reinforce the posts with concrete or cement mortar.
.To the posts at an equal distance from each other, weld the transverse logs (2 - 3 pieces) from the profiled metal pipe.
.On the resulting base, fix the sheets of corrugated board (usually they are attached to self-tapping screws).

It is worth noting here that it is undesirable to fasten the sheets of corrugated board to self-tapping screws, because cunning intruders can easily twist such fasteners in your absence and steal the sheets of corrugated board. Alas ... such cases are not uncommon. Therefore, it is better to use special rivets for metal that no intruder can unscrew.

Some important nuances when building fences with your own hands

1. The quality and durability of any fence depends on the supports - the pillars on which it rests. Therefore, experts advise using durable metal supports even for wooden fences - thus, fences will last much longer.

2. Think about where and how you will mount the gates, what they will be: sectional, swing, folding or others. And then you can use the classic solution for any type of fence with your own hands: a rectangle for the gate, welded from a shaped metal pipe. The size of the gate is determined by yourself. The rectangular profile should be slightly smaller than the niche in the fence left by you to equip the gate. You can sheathe the profile with the material from which you make the fence: boards, corrugated board or other material. Or you can experiment))

3. Now you need to take care of the double-sided handles on the gate and the latch (if you need it). The gate is attached to the supporting frame with sturdy metal canopies. If you put a patch lock, then you need to fix metal hinges for it on the gate. And if you decide to make a mortise lock, then on one of the support pillars (from the side of the lock) and on the gate door, make holes for the lock itself and for its tongue.

I hope, using these simple tips, you can build a solid and beautiful fence with your own hands. Good luck in such a difficult and painstaking business!

It is not difficult to come up with a fence design, it is more difficult to realize the idea of \u200b\u200bhow to do exactly what you want. But when there is also a desire to make money on this, then you need to evaluate the attractiveness from the very beginning consumable... After all general design often collected from everything that is idle or sold for a penny.

From scrap materials

Now, precisely on the territory of the Russian Federation and the CIS countries, here is what you can choose from:

  • Pallets;
  • Used slate;
  • Plastic (various containers);
  • Production grid;
  • Cutting from a sawmill (the most budgetary rural option);
  • Bush branches (do it yourself, if there is one near the construction site);
  • (for a fence or a barn, there is no more budgetary option);
  • Disassembled wooden barrels (a rare case, but sometimes in production shops they are forced to sell by self-collection already broken barrels made of strong wood);
  • Scrap metal (if you have transport, you can visit retail outlets and collect poles, crossbars and even some decor for handwork by weight);
  • Professional sheet. The most inexpensive;
  • Concrete, cement and decorative.

How do you make a cheap fence out of all this? Let's analyze in detail.

Designer novelties

Beautiful photos with original ideas:

The layout is simple. In the photo - a homemade picket fence from wire, hazel, willow... You don't even need to nail anything on a simple fence made of branches with your own hands, it is enough to make turns between the supporting parts, and a low fence will be ready very soon. It is a pity that such structures do not last very long because of strong winds and precipitation.

The garden option is decorative fence in a private house assembled on their own. And the more paint residues are used in this version, the brighter the garden itself will look. Planks can also be selected from pallets, creating a simple decoration element.

It's worth noticing! Such a garden fence is also an impromptu bird feeder and drinker. Very original and inexpensive.

Brick, cement and glass. American novelty. The materials are not cheap and available, but it looks great. Unfortunately, such a design will most likely not stand for a very long time due to intense interest. In total, there is someone who cannot repeat this.

Copper or other metal at work. Of course, an element for everyone. And there is a lot of welding work. But if you make, for example, from the iron beds of past eras, it will be original, free and forever.

Plastic. Even greenhouses have been made from containers for a long time. And they don't forget about fences. It is advisable, of course, to make small pieces of even material from empty containers, with which buildings or fences are then sheathed. But the above method will work, just prepare a strong frame in advance.

Euro pallet... Suitable everywhere: firewood, building a barn and a fence. Interestingly, the technology for creating the pallets themselves has a drying stage. It turns out that pallets from the warehouse are ideal construction material for an inexpensive fence. And often, unloading pallets are sold simply by weight. Small-sized boards should be free of knots and defects.

There is no need to disassemble pallets to build a fence. The most correct thing to do is as in the photo above - to expose and fix each of them in turn.

Branches, tree and croaker

Quite inexpensive, example in the photo:

You can't imagine anything easier - they insert or drive in something for support, and then weaving is done as the soul desires. Everything that lies under your feet goes into work. Even dry, crooked and heavy oak branches can be the completion of the composition.

Below in the photo is a fence-fence. From a thin branch such a design, of course, does not differ in strength. But you can fix a ready-made homemade fence with a grid over the entire area.

So (next photo) is much stronger, more economical and more beautiful. Livestock, pests from the forest or abandoned dogs will not violate your territorial space. Moreover, the grid can be installed not very shallow, and it is enough for one meter from the ground. Above, such protection is no longer needed.

Mesh combined with timber frame, made according to the correct technology (wood under a cone, pillars processed with bitumen). Modest, not particularly expensive and reliable. It's not worth sinning on a tree, because a fence made of absolutely any material will not last forever. And even monolithic structures destroyed by atmospheric changes.

Carved grace... This is a small piece of art. Although earlier, when most of the population of our country lived in private lands, there were carved elements in every courtyard. This had several meanings: wealth, accuracy, skill and respect for tradition.

Below - pallet garden fencetreated with protective compounds.

Fence boardvery nicely combined from concrete base and a pillar.

By the way, it is the "fence board" that can be of several varieties (1-3 grade). If there is a lot of crooked wood on the sawmill, then the 3rd grade of fence boards will accumulate in cubic meters. Outwardly, there are, of course, differences, but this is the same wood that is used in construction. With her more trouble, but for such a low price it forgives her. And if grade 1 costs from 3 thousand per 1 cubic meter, grade 3 will cost 1.5-1.8.

It is also interesting that cheap lumber is not bought quickly, therefore it is easy to find a dried up inexpensive fence board in warehouses or squares.

Original wood processing

By Japanese technology now you can burn fence boardsgiving brown tint... Similar processing for natural material only needed once. Moreover, a thin layer of fired wood is resistant to dampness, and natural processing can only be replaced with expensive paint, the service life of which leaves much to be desired. Burning several dozen boards with oxygen or a blowtorch is convenient, practical and original.

Slate, profiled sheet, concrete and mesh

If you take a new slate into work, then it would be better to order a flat version designed for 1 span. Such material is easy to replace in the event of a breakdown, and it looks inconspicuous, solid, more solid.

Used slate more often with a wave. On the front, it is rarely used, except for the visors. However, the back side of the site, closed from the eyes of everyone and everything, also needs a fence. This is where the old slate from the grandfather's house or barn is used.

Interesting fact! Slate produced in the 70-80s of the 20th century is very fragile, but durable. If during the transportation and installation process they did not make cracks, then it will stand in the fence for more than one decade.

Classic rules for working with your own hands on a profiled sheet and a metal frame. As shown in the figure, for a high fence (above 2 meters), it is more correct to make 3 logs. Well, the span is not more than 2.5 meters.

Patterned Grids... Long and painstaking work. Should be carried out according to the project or pattern. Of course, you will have to work hard, but you can also sell such works. Or get hired for registration, if there is interest in your ideas.

Cheap, beautiful and original. You can use everything in decorative elements: from forks to car hubs... And it does not matter how it all will look exactly in the overall picture, because different elements of iron or other material cannot be assembled into one structure ugly.

Professional sheet or professional flooring on wooden frame ... Option for those who do not own the welding craft. It is better to make the frame itself more stable, although sheets arranged horizontally will give the necessary rigidity. It is desirable to treat wood with linseed oil-based protective agents.

Concrete or brick fences... There are tons of shades here decorative elements and, accordingly, costs. It is more profitable to make only the base from stone, placing it in the center of each span wood, forging, flooring sheets or even factory plastic.

Estimated cost

Let us analyze using the example of a standard 6 hectare suburban area:

Fence type Materials Number of materials Unit cost, rub. Amounts, rub.
Wooden fence with concrete base Cement (concrete); 11 cubic meters; 3 thousand; 33 thousand
pillars (logs); From 50 pieces; 450; 22 thousand
lags (timber); 40 pieces; 150; 6 thousand
fence board (2-3 grade). 200-250 pieces. 60. 15 thousand
Result: 76 thousand for building materials.
Mesh with concrete base Concrete; 11 cubic meters; 3 thousand; 33 thousand
Frame pipes; 89X40; 1500; 78 thousand
Logs made of wood; 50 pieces.

200-250 pieces;

108; 3.7 thousand
Grid. 170 square meters. 60. 9.4 thousand
Result: material without delivery 124 thousand.

These are prices for the central region. And if you call to count the fences of the above turnkey materials, then you need to add up to 50 thousand for work and delivery.

Outcome

Fences made of stone, brick and decorative components cost twice as much as a fence made of mesh or wood.

It is easy to guess that it is most profitable to do what you have planned with your own hands, using the same euro pallet or used pallet... Indeed, with high-quality installation, they look much more original. The price of the work is cheap, the material itself can be ordered from 100 rubles apiece. 1 element is a whole meter of an almost assembled fence. Consider for yourself what is best for a conventional fence.

We build a fence in the country with our own hands

And now I present to you two methods of building a fence with your own hands, the most popular among summer residents and not requiring serious financial investments.

We build a wooden fence

A detailed master class on building a wooden fence with your own hands, so now I will only very briefly recall the main points.

  1. We are determined with the boundaries of the site.
  2. We drill holes for bearing pillars 0.7-1.0 m deep at a distance of 2 or 2.5 m from each other.
  3. We insert pillars into the pits, using a level (or plumb line), we check that they stand strictly vertically.
  4. We strengthen (you can concrete or cement).
  5. On the pillars from above and below, we nail or screw a timber with a section of 50 x 50 mm or more with self-tapping screws.
  6. We install the crossbars.
  7. We attach edged boards to the finished structure (you can take boards with a section of 85 x 145 mm) at a distance of 1.5-2 cm from each other.
  8. Let's start painting.
Very important! Before proceeding with the construction of such a fence, all wooden parts should be primed 2-3 times or covered with another anti-decay agent.

The fence around the infield is the framing and completion of the overall design. It can mark the border, protect from the wind and sun, and serve as a decoration. Depending on the complexity of the design and the duration of the borders, the work can be performed by both professionals and skilled owners. If the surface of the ground is sufficiently flat, there are no difficulties, and before making a fence on a site with a slope, you will have to spend a little more time on elaboration, calculations and marking.

Fence options - materials and aesthetic solutions

What kind of fence to make on the site: massive or openwork, deaf or open (transparent), from what material? There are a lot of design options, and their construction has a different unit cost.

Combined option fences

The most inexpensive types of materials for fences

The most budgetary are fences made of branches, picket fence, mesh netting. Fences made of branches form wattle fence, suitable for ethnic, folk style of design. With an ordinary picket fence, if you have imagination and accuracy, you can create many original geometric ornaments. The netting chain-link, tightened into a frame of steel corners, looks neat on its own, and entwined with wild grapes or planted with evergreen shrubs, it forms a hedge.

Slope mesh

Interesting options for gabion fences are created from galvanized mesh. Such a fence is two parallel stretched profile frame the walls are made of mesh, which are filled with stones, sawn wood, straw, and then plant sprouts and flower arrangements are planted pointwise.

Materials for fences of the middle price category

The materials suitable for making your own fence on the site as easy and affordable as possible include corrugated board, polycarbonate and high-quality lumber. Polycarbonate fences can be in the form of separate sections or form combined with other materials original designs... Fences made of corrugated board, as a rule, are deaf, tightly covering the entire perimeter of the site. Fences made from planed boards and beams open up wide design possibilities and can be very effective.

Fences made of concrete and reinforced concrete decorative slabs will cost more, and forged structures and structures made of natural stone - the most expensive and require the involvement of professionals during construction.

Construction of a fence made of corrugated board on a plot of land with a slope

On an area with uneven terrain, fences can be installed with the same slope along the upper edge or in the form of steps. In the latter case, it is easier to work with corrugated board and, in addition, it is more suitable for areas with an uneven slope.

Preliminary work during the construction of a fence made of corrugated board

Before making a fence on an uneven area, you need to perform preliminary work with special care in order to get a beautiful and durable structure as a result. Preparatory work include the following steps:

  • planning and calculation;
  • purchase of materials;
  • markup.

Fence layout on difficult terrain

To determine the consumption of materials, measure the length of the boundaries of the site. To calculate the consumption of corrugated board, it should be borne in mind that the installation of individual sheets is performed with an overlap of 3–10 cm. The corrugated boards are made galvanized, with polymer, powder and PVC coatings, of various colors and different thicknesses. For the fence, you need to choose a material with a thickness of at least 0.5 mm, with an average surface relief (grooves from 10 to 20 mm), a durable and non-reflective coating.

The number of supports and materials for concreting is taken from the calculation: one support for 2.5-3 m, the depth of the foundation - 0.8-1.2 m (depending on the soil). It is most convenient to use square supports as supports shaped pipes with a side of 60 mm and a length equal to the height of the fence plus the depth of the foundation and plus 10-15 cm (if the design requires). Transverse logs can be made from a corner, but it is safer to make them from a rectangular shaped pipe with sides of 20x40 mm. With a fence height of no more than 180 cm, the total length of the log is taken from the calculation of their fastening in 2 rows. If the fence is higher - in 3 rows.

Marking a fence made of corrugated board

The marking of the perimeter for the installation of supports for areas with a slight slope starts from a higher angle, and for areas with a large difference in height - from the corner located at the lowest point. Between the extreme supports, the fishing line is pulled and the places for the installation of intermediate pillars are outlined, taking into account the location of the gate and wicket.

DIY construction of a fence made of corrugated board

The construction of a fence includes the following stages:

  • excavation;
  • installation of supports and concreting;
  • installation of logs and corrugated board.

It is convenient to excavate the ground for the installation of supports with a gas drill, but it can also be done with a hand drill. The excavation depth is 60–90 cm. Installation of supports is the most crucial moment. The calculated pipe length is measured (for different supports on an uneven section, the pipe lengths differ), set it vertically, controlling the position with a level and a plumb line, and hammer it into the soil by 20–30 cm. After that, the correct position of the support is again checked and, if necessary, corrected. The cavity between the ground and the pipe is poured with concrete, mixed according to the standard ratio of cement, sand, crushed stone (1/3/4), and allowed to dry completely - at least 12 hours.

Installation of the lag consists in welding them to the racks. Welding seams are then cleaned and treated with an anti-corrosion solution. The pipes of the racks are closed on top with overlays. Alternatively, they can be welded before installation in concrete, but this is more difficult and less aesthetically pleasing. The frame of the fence is painted in a color that matches the base material. The corrugated board is mounted at a short distance from the ground with an overlap using self-tapping screws or rivets. The installation results in a stepped structure with a horizontal top edge.

Installation of gates and wickets from corrugated board

The gates can be lifting, sliding and swinging. The latter are easier to build with your own hands. The posts for installing gates and wickets are concreted in the same way as for the fence. The materials for their construction are the same - shaped pipes, corrugated board, concrete mortar... Additionally, they purchase accessories: hinges, latches, latches, ears for a padlock.

Finishing works and finishing

To reduce the effect of corrosion on the material of the fence, it is recommended to concreted the gap between the ground and the sheet. For this, formwork is built, crushed stone is poured and concrete mortar is poured. All chips and scratches of the coating of the canvas, formed during the installation process, are treated with an anti-corrosion agent and covered with paint or varnish. If the corrugated board was bought unpainted, paint it with paint that matches this material. At the end of the work, the surface of the fence is cleaned of construction dust and debris.
